  • Hi all!! I was asked recently about my experience with hashimotos (I am celiac and have beat hashimotos! yay!) Here is my reply, I hope it helps! Please forgive any typos as I wrote this quickly. Yeah your story sounds like mine. Good news I really think youre on the right track! I'd honestly say, stop throwing money at…
  • Im on day two, and I can say there is no way I was sticking to my calorie goal of the day of 1300-1400. Other days, Im ok at 1200-1300, but today I've been ravenously hungry. Almost to the point of getting light headed by trying to stick to my goal, so of course I ate something (healthy!) and went over. Today I clocked in…
  • Celiacs is an autoimmune disease triggered by gluten. If you remove the trigger often it stops the attack on other parts of the body including thyroid. Autoimmune can attack different parts including spine and brain. It takes a while for the immune system to calm down usually a couple months. Taking synthroid is against my…
  • You mentioned ideas of what to eat, my diary is public also google gluten free dairy free meal options. I do eat too many nuts so don't do that part of my diet lol. I'm changing that as of tomorrow to low fat higher carb gluten free dairy free still. Bobs Red Mill oats are great. Read labels! Barley malt in cereal,…
  • Yes! I was diagnosed with hashimotos, celiacs and chronic fatigue. I've always had weird health issues that doctors brushed aside, I'm in my early 20's, but doctors never had answers. It got to the point of me getting pnemonia twice in one year with a fever of 104 and losing 15 pounds to 116 lbs both times, my hair was…
  • I'm 5'9" and 128 lbs but I have a very small frame. My fingers overlap almost past my first knuckle so i just have small bones. My best friend is the same height as me but is about 155 lbs and it looks great on her! She wants to be more in the 140 range but anything less than that would be too thin because she has a bigger…
  • Wow that's amazing!! Great job!
  • If you like oatmeal I would say have old fashion oatmeal with some almonds and fat free milk or almond milk to get your metabolism going early. I try to eat within 30 minuets of waking up. I do coffee but that's a personal preference. I agree with others, breakfast should be the biggest with the meals getting smaller…
  • Wow thank you for the great info!!
  • I'm really sorry to hear that you have to go through that! I hope your insurance takes care of it. I'm not lactating but ive never had kids idk if I could have that. How would I know? Mines kinda separate, if I had that would it be a continuous tissue spanning from the mammories? Mines like someone put a large flabby…
  • Thank you. What I meant with the triceps, I want to have bigger shoulders and skinny toned rest of the arm. I wasn't watching my calories when I was doing triceps before so I had both muscle and fat doing 40 LB pull downs (not lat pull down, tricep pull down). Then I stopped working them out and now I have fat unlean…
  • Thank you everyone! I can't say how much of a relief it is to hear the support and know other people are dealing with the same thing. None of my friends have it, and many of them are curvier than I am but still don't! I'm happy for them for not having it but I feel silly for talking about armpit fat lol. I'm going to try…
  • It's unfortunate that she reacted that way, especially someone you have to work with. Some women are really competitive and can't be happy if other people are happy. You should be proud of losing 22 pounds, 2 pounds, or 220 pounds. One of the greatest feelings of losing weight other than feeling healthier, is making a goal…
  • I can tell in the mirror, my weight hasn't really changed at all the past two months. I'm adding more muscle which i know weighs more than fat and I can get into clothes I couldn't before, but the scale didn't change. I know it might sound weird, but if I over eat I swear I see it all over my body in a couple hours! Like a…
  • Great support! This is why we are all here :)
  • Bump for later, I'd love to join if that's ok? :)
  • We are all here to better ourselves, support eachother, and reach our goals. Being one of the skinny girls that you're talking about I wanted to express that everyone has their own battles and struggles. So when an overweight person is trying to lose weight and looks for support it ok, but when a thin person looks for…
  • Thanks! Ive done that 3 times this week, rotating swimming for running. Oddly enough, I feel like I've gained more fat somehow! Or maybe building muscle and keeping the fat too. I have been eating more calories since Ive been working out more, and especially noticed it after having a couple tblsp of peanut butter in one…
  • Thank you! I would agree with your "skinny" and "athletic" descriptions. Personally, I really try not to get muscular, thats funny that you think I look more like the second photo, Im going for looking like the first one! Argh. I want to have the exact same muscle amount I have now just lose the fat. What did you do (diet,…
  • Holy crap! So I tried this last night at the gym and this is what I did: Bike: 5 minute warm up. Then 3 minuets at 160, 2 minuets break, 3 minuets at 160 something, 2 minuet break, I worked up to a couple 5 minute stretches with a two minute breaks at 170, then a 5 minute cool down. Total of 45 minuets. Wow I was sweating…
  • Haha amen! Rock it fellow tall girl! :)
  • I'm 5'9" and love it :D I can never find jackets or sleeves that are long enough, but you cant beat the way long legs look! And forget wearing heels on most dates! lol. I still love being tall, but I agree, when a girl thats much shorter says she wears a tiny size, Im like, yeah. Screw plastic surgery, I'd need a hacksaw…
  • I think the shapes work better than the spaghetti, fyi :) The spaghetti texture is a little different than wheat pasta but the shapes I cant tell the difference. Quinoa pasta is much higher in protein.
  • Thanks for the advice! It makes sense. Now lets hope I dont fall off the elliptical when it gets a mind of its own :)
  • I cant do milk or dairy either, I get almond milk or soy milk. Theyre actually really good! I get the Blue Diamond almond milk. Blend it with fruit, a banana, protein powder in the blender :) And peanut butter on the weekends! Is she also allergic to almonds? Theres almond, flax, cashew butters too that you can try. Lara…
  • Thanks! That makes sense. I always thought interval was about the resistance, and I guess in a way it is if that gets my heart rate to alternate up and down. But it helps thinking about it as heart rate instead of "faster" or "easier". I'll give that a go tonight at the gym. Every 2-4 minuets switch it when I work out for…
  • It sounds like you are definately eating too few calories. Try quinoa pasta! Yum :)
  • I totally dont mean this in a mean way, but are you sure that youre actually eating 550 calories? Do you measure and weigh foods? What did you eat and what do you normally eat? Its really easy to eat more than you think, we are used to the portions we are given in restaurants or the size of bowls or plates of food, but…
  • Wow what an amazing difference! P90x is something I should look into!
