I wouldn't wait to join the club.... Do it now! You will see once you join you will get closer to those 6 miles than on your own!

Definitely a Garmin!!!! And Yak trax if you plan on running on the ice!

Just liked it!!!

Thank you for asking this! I was always curious about that!!!!

Oh then I'm crazy rude. Not always on purpose..... I never finish anything on my plate. I have put a treat on my plate, took a bite, and chucked it.

I don't touch it. It's an automatic no. If I get asked, I say "great, thanks! I will grab one after lunch for dessert!" I am not being stalked all day. For all they know, I did get I after lunch, or all the other people ate them by then.

I don't own a scale. Problem SOLVED!

I teach Zumba. It's a lot of fun and a good workout, but I think you need to do other things in addition to Zumba to work your entire body.

I was a size 16-18 and am now a 2-4. Yes, it took years. But those years were going to happen anyway.

I don't. I may go over my original intake but don't eat them all back. I find it's counter productive.

Depends on where you are getting your protein from ; P

I treat diet soda like junk food. I have it as an occasional treat. It IS junk food.

i agree - this, with a good running program - couch to 5K or Hal Higdon, should help you prevent injury!

I like all the advice everyone gave!!!

Sorry... No. Too much white flour and not enough whole grains, or fresh food like fruits and vegetables. I am not against carbs, but these are all heavy white flour carby type foods, and nothing that really is healthy for your body. Try maybe incorporating whole grains from natural sources versus cooked, and more fresh…

I don't focus on daily fluctuations (or didn't when I weighed myself) - I focus on the steady direction my weight goes in weekly. For 3 weeks, I could be the same, and then the 4th week, a 5 lb loss can all of a sudden show up on the scale. Then I see another 2 lb loss. Then no loss. Then a 3 lb loss, etc. the fact is, the…

I see this all the time with Atkins.... I didn't even know people still do Atkins. To me, that was the quintessential "fad diet" You can never go wrong with reducing calories. You can go wrong with eliminating food groups. Yo can eat fewer calories for the rest of your life. Can you eat no carbs for the rest of your life?…

Losing inches for me is the most important. I don't walk around with my weight on my forehead, so people don't see that number anyway!

To me, it's like being an alcoholic in recovery. Yes, you recover, but the issue is always there. It needs to remain under our control and we need to stay hyper vigilant. Never let your guard down. Always be mindful and conscious.

I was vegan for almost 15 yrs, but do eat some dairy now and then..... Not sure if I interest you!!! Lol....

... and, this may be extreme, but one way I snapped out of my funk is with this: Let's say I go to the doctor, and find out I am dying of some incurable cancer, and have less than a year to live. What would I see If I looked in the mirror then? How would I view my other problems that I swore I couldn't handle? My little…

I have learned that it doesn't matter what other people say. They can tell you they love you, that you are beautiful. That you are thin. If you don't have love for yourself, they may as well be talking to a brick wall. No one can change what you see in a mirror. Only YOU can do that. If you keep telling yourself you are…

Thanks! I am really getting into Tabata!

We live in NY and joined about 3 yrs ago. Our rates are really amazing.... For the family rate (me and husband) we pay 90.00 combined! This was before the gym was redone so they gave us a great rate and we were grandfathered in. We really make the most out of our memberships, and it also has free babysitting, which I try…

To me, next to running, spinning is one of the best no nonsense workouts. Even if you lower the resistance, there's only so much you can back off until your form Is bad, so you are forced to keep the resistance up and just work, work, work, WORK. Grueling, yes. But effective. Keep at it! Can you believe 2 mornings a week,…

No!!!! I work full-time and have a 4 year old. I need to get the most out of those days!!!!

Right, which is why measurements are more helpful for this reason, as muscle mass is less dense than body fat. The pounds are the same, but feathers are going to take up more room than dirt. Just sayin...... As for me, although I had less to lose, it took me a year to lose 20 lbs. I lose sloooowwwwww on a scale. Keep doing…
