It is very fun! You have to look for the crocheted seams, and yarn that is big enough it will not break when you tug on it a little (dk/sportweight is about as smaller as I go with cashmere), and in overall good fiber condition (holes from snags or stains can be easily worked around, moth holes not so much).

My favorite is recycled yarn. I love to knit with cashmere and could never afford it new, but I knit with recycled cashmere from cast off sweaters and LOVE it! Commercial yarn, I love Socks that Rock, Shepherd Sock, and Opal self-patterning for socks and Classic Wool and Cascade for sweaters.

Hello! I am JJ and I have been crocheting since I was in 5th grade and knitting for about 7 years now. I love them both equally! I love them so much actually that I own a funky little yarn store! We carry only local and recycled yarn, which I feel very passionate about. I teach almost all our classes and dye some yarn as…

That is funny! Maybe because straight needles are the worst? LOL! You must knit tighter or looser than gauge as size 7 is usually what is reccomended for worsted weight yarn.

I am going to be taking December off from the challenges. I am just so insanely busy and then we go on vacation for two weeks at the beach and I am pretty sure we will not have wifi, so I will only have my phone. I am looking forward to doing some active things with the boys while we are on vacation, but don't want to be…

35 minutes! Rock on! I finished in 54:25. I am finding that I am actually faster walking than running overall and am thinking of switching to concentrating on that. When I run, and then walk to recover the overall time is slower than if I just walk the whole way. I think if I walk the whole time and concentrate on…

I finished the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning and I was not the last person to do so! I was so happy about that! LOL! I even took a picture, I was on the last page of the posted results, but at the top of the page. It had rained constantly the entire week, but it was clear that morning which was awesome. It seemed…

Becky I love and adore you, :smooched: but I think its someone else's turn to step up and organize a challenge. Its a lot of work and commitment, and its only fair if those that have been participating take turns hosting a month. I am more than happy to offer any advice or ideas someone might want, and I am sure you and…

I am a very bad girl Steph and I feel awful about it. I have been plugging along and doing the challenge but having a really hard time getting the time to log it in the computer or the spreadsheet. I am very sorry and will try to get it all caught up this week. But I do feel terrible about not being more supportive and…

To Staci, Cyn, and anyone else running a Turkey Trot in the morning, I will be thinking of you as I head out to do mine! Kinda fun to think of us all doing it "together"! Good luck and remember to have FUN!

I am still plugging along, but am totally overwhelmed with the shop at the moment. Its a big shopping weekend and we are hoping to be hopping busy all weekend, so lots of preparation involved in that. Added to that all the people that wait until now to cast on for a sweater for everyone on their christmas list and expect…

I have the same user name on Ravelry as I do here. :-) And I agree....I am constantly trying to click agree, or love on forum posts!

I am still around. Really struggling with my motivation, as I have once again gone another month without losing anything. Which is a self-perpetuating circle as then it is hard to talk myself into lacing up my running shoes in the cold and the rain when it doesn't do any good anyways.... Work is super busy right now with…

Running is almost more of a mental thing than a physical thing. When I was at that point in C25K I would hear myself saying..."OMG! I am DYING!" and I would have to stop the thought. I would do a toe to head check to see if I was actually dying and what was truly hurting. I never really was dying, so I kept going. Somehow…

Me too! I have learned I have some odd things in common with other people here!

10 things about me: 1. I am the mother of four children, a daughter age 17, and sons ages 14, 13, and 12. 2. I went back to college to finish my degree at age 35. 3. I can knit, crochet, spin, tat, weave and dye yarn. Good thing I own a yarn shop. 4. I read everyday. Non-fiction, romance, crime, chick lit, doesn't matter.…

The dressed up little ones are soooo cute Julie and Laney! Love it! My "baby" found an actual vintage sailor suit at the thrift store so that is what she wore. It was warm, covered her completely up and she looked adorable. I think she was the only costume I saw when I picked her up from school that was not....slutty. What…

I am going to wait a couple of days to tally everything up, as there are a few people that have not entered their data for today or the last couple of…

I am glad posting the leaders and runners up encouraged you to be competitive! Go get it girl! Thank you also for the compliment. I had a wonderful time this month, I am glad it worked out as well as it did, and I am pleased to be thought of as kind, patient, helpful and encouraging.

No, THANK YOU! For today, October 31st, our only "doubler" is for dancing. If you dance more than 30 minutes, you may multiply all your minutes by 100. It has to be an actual 30 full minutes of dancing (not 15 with someone else) and can be zumba, aerobics, wii, exercise video, 30DS, etc. etc.
