  • I agree 100% with what capt apollo said and partially with what alk_509 said. alk_509 is correct in the most people don't count their calories accurately. However, it isn't ONLY about counting calories. That just helps you stay accountable as well as keep track of what you're eating. Perhaps to also watch your nutrient…

  • Great reply, Sunflower
  • Ditto that. If I do work out with anyone it's in a class. But running etc I do on my own. It gives my head a chance to just calm down and focus on what I'm doing. This site is great for support if you need it. But if you need in-person workout support I'm sure you'll makes friends soon. GOod luck.
  • Many factors go into how much weight you're going to initially lose when you change your diet. They can be: are you working out more, starting weight, what your diet was like before-hand etc. I started Paelo a month ago. I started at 153 (I'm 5'5", 43 yrs old) and lost about 2-3 lbs the first week or so. I don't recall…

That lame excuse being said I've always ate fairly healthy (very healthy compared to some). I don't drink pop or juice, I limit my…
  • That is an amazing story! So happy that you took charge of your life....for you AND your family! Congratulations.
  • HI all! New to this group but not to MFP. Been trying to lose some pounds and be more fit for years, not terribly successful. Tried different tactics (green bean pills, boot camp etc) but until recently wasn't losing anything but a few lbs here and there then gaining them right back. I'm 43 and have lost about 12 lbs so…
  • You're welcome to peer into my manga habits if you like. I think it's open to friends. I'll double check as soon as I hit "reply." I follow Paleo (although not 100% ...maybe about 98%) if that's of interest to you.
  • Hi Stef. I have been by way of eating Paleo for almost a month now. It has worked out well for me. However, I was a fairly healthy eater to begin with. I'm not 100% strict Paleo. I hate to call it a "diet" when it's really a way of life, like vegetarianism etc. The concerns I had before I started was making sure I was…

  • Hi Julie! 43 yr old single gal in Cleveland. Struggling to get fit and lose about 20 lbs. Although I'd be ok with 15. What am i saying... I'd be ecstatic with 15! Looking to find like minded friends to go through this journey together and provide support to one another. Count me in!
