  • Wow, what great results! I'm almost done with Level 1 in my 2nd go-round of 30DS. I love it! I've started mixing in pilates and Yoga Meltdown for extra calorie burn, and am still running and doing regular cardio on my cardio-only days at the gym.
  • http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/food/food_quality/see_what_we_are_made_of/your_questions_answered/meats.html McDonald's chicken tastes so much different since all this scandalous stuff came about ... you can tell they use real(er) chicken than before. Click the link above. Same goes for Taco Bell ... they're beef doesn't…
  • Nope. My man has gained weight (as have I) since we first met, and I still get butterflies when I see him, say, after being at work all day. I'm attracted to who he is as a person, who he is to me, how he treats me, etc. I can't imagine kissing or having sex with anyone else while I'm with him. I'm just not attracted to…
  • MFP has already figured out how many calories you should eat to lose weight. When you work out, you are supposed to eat your exercise calories back. For me, I tweaked the calories so it's a solid 500 calorie deficit per day. Multiply that by 7 (days in the week), and you get 3500 (calories in one pound). When you eat your…
  • I go by body fat percentage. I'd like to be at the top of the athlete range (14-20%) and I used a website that apparently doesn't exist anymore :grumble: to figure out that 20% for me (according to my body stats - waist to hip ratio, how much I work out, whether I've had a kid or not, etc.) is about 140 lbs. Search body…
  • You would do better if you ate more protein. Most vegetarians don't get enough protein because they think "oh, I can just eat a lot of pasta". That's how my sister was. You just have to get smart about your choices, just like a carnivore would. I didn't get enough protein before I started counting calories. You just have…
  • I only keep the ones who want people in their lives and who want to be in people's lives. I don't "collect" friends. I only add the people who give a good reason why they want to be friends with me, and who I know want to actually communicate on here. For me, the friends on MFP are a support system. If you don't update, or…
  • What an amazing difference. Keep up the great work!
  • That's great! Keep up the good work.
  • Nope! Sometimes unsupportive partners can hold you down. I'm happy my boyfriend has simmered down with his complaining about my work outs. He can play video games on his day off while I work out, and then we can spend time later. Not everyone is as flexible and it sounds like you've found that out. Great job for…
  • Before I lost my virginity, 20 years. After, a month. (been in a relationship with the same guy since I lost it - 2.5 years ago)
  • It helps repair and build muscle. If you're on a calorie deficit, you SHOULD be getting a lot of protein. I've read a lot of places that it should be 1 gram per every 1 lb of lean body bass. So whatever your body fat % is ... you can figure out what the rest of it is (the lean) and then 1 gram for every 1 lb. For me, it's…
  • Drink it throughout the day. And no - your body does not "know" when it's thirsty. When you're thirsty... you're already dehydrated. That's why you're supposed to drink even when you're not thirsty. It's not the same as being hungry. AT ALL.
  • I count work (200 calories is what mfp would give me if i changed my lifestyle to lightly active) because i don't work everyday to change my lifestyle to lightly active ... and I count everything that is DELIBERATE exercise, i.e.: my jillian workouts, pilates, any time i go to the gym, any walk that burns more than 100…
  • Have a sit down. Just tell him you're fine if he eats crap, but please do not bring home crap for you (you do not want it). Explain to him how hard you are working, and how badly you want this. Tell him you would like as little junk food in the house as possible, but will not disallow him to eat it. I do this with my…
  • I'd love to get one. Tired of shaving every other day, ugh. PS - had a friend say sex with a woman who's brazilian-ified...is amazing. I can imagine! No chaffing if I'm on top! Really want one but haven't had the money to throw down, nor the desire to grow it completely out just to get one. Oie.
  • I drink filtered at work and whatever comes out of my fridge at home, and tap at school.
  • Butter. It's real. It's natural. Right now, just to cut calories, I'm using I can't believe it's not butter light. (I can't "afford" 100 cals for 1 tbsp butter right now). Once I get closer to my goal and have more calories, I'll switch to real butter. I miss it!
  • Sounds great!
  • You look fantastic!! Keep up the great work.
  • I would go with time. I started with speed and wore myself out and got stuck at the time I was running - couldn't run longer, just harder/faster. So I started doing hiit : I walk 3 minutes & 30 seconds at 3.5 at a 1% incline on the treadmill for a warm up, then I run at 5.5 for 1 1/2 minutes, then I run at 7.0 for 30…
  • lol Go get a new bikini, then! haha Great job, btw.
  • Yeah, .... I'm 5'4" and my base calories are 1380 and I'm a woman. Your calories are WAY too low. I think you could eat a lot more calories and you could just cut down on starchy carbs to get the last 10 lbs off.
  • YEP! First time I did it last summer, I was SO sore the first three days, but all my friends said push through, so I did. After that, I was only sore a couple days when moving up a level. This time around, I'm using heavier weights and really not all that sore. Your body will adapt.
  • Agreed! If what you're doing works for you, keep doing it. Once it stops working (if it stops working), THEN readjust.
  • You should be proud! Great job.
  • I've started to measure everything again. I've always been good about my meats because I portion them out to freeze them so I can just thaw and eat, but ... things like peanut butter, sour cream, honey, etc. sometimes I just "eye it". Well, not anymore! Gotta get back into that because I know I'm eating more than I'm…
