Good to know. I was under the impression that working out before eating would go straight to burning fat, too! I'm glad I'm wrong....I like eating beforehand!

bump - I'm in the same pear-shaped boat.

There's always that one picture, the one you really hate, of yourself. There was that picture - and the fact that I was at my absolute heaviest and not turning around. ALSO, pretty vain, but the guy that I've been interested in for the entire year of school that lived down my hall is just plain skinny. I still wanted to be…

Yes. I'm still struggling with finding time to work out and it usually happens that I work out anywhere from 1 to 5 times a week. It really all depends. Hopefully once school gets started, I will be able to spend some time at the-very-conveniently-in-my-building-gym on a daily or semi-daily basis.

Congrats!!! That is so awesome!!! Keep it up girl, you can do it!

Recently, some of my favorite places to eat out are Panara and Noodles&co. I think it was the bangkok stir-fry or something at Noodles that is super low cal, (though most of their dishes are doable if you look up the calories,) and Panara's soups are all pretty great, low cal, and filling. I tried the lemon chicken orzo…

Have you logged what you eat when you aren't trying? While the foods might be unhealthier, it might work out that you are actually eating less calories. I don't know about that for sure, but it seems like the most obvious possibility to me.

I lost a lot (if not all) of the weight so far without using exercise, and whenever I do make it to the gym, I notice that my body swells up a little for the next few days. My best advice would be to listen to your body - don't overdo the workouts as you're just getting started, drink way more water than seems okay, and if…

Thanks! I'm not so good with technology. :)

The hilarious fourth hour of the Today show had 62 hot dogs there to show just what that looked like...how is that physically possible lol

-air popped popcorn (3cups = 90cals, so 1cup is about what you'd have left) -as much cucumber as you can handle; squeeze lime juice over slice and salt and pepper them. SO delicious. -as everyone has said, any veggies. i'd suggest spinach. -about 12 tictacs

Tears, complaining, chocolate, and midol. Just kidding. I prefer ibuprofin to midol.

You know, I'm going to be the minority here. It's supposed to not be good for your metabolism, and hurt weight loss, but I had coffee with cream and honey for breakfast every day for the first 12lbs of my weight loss. I was at school and in a dorm, and it was easier and I honestly wasn't hungry anyway. If I was, I'd eat an…

I've worked at a coffee house for about 2 and a half years, and we get some CRAZY requests for what to put into coffee - including (and not limited to!) an order for about half coffee, half heavy whipping cream, and 7 spenda!!!!! I totally get where you're coming from that black coffee is NOT very tasty, especially when…

I'm right there with you sister. I just had two hotdogs... But they were only 110 cals each with bun and ketchup!

Plateaus can come to anyone, any time, as our bodies all have their own agendas. My best advice is to not let affect your morale and keep on trucking - you CAN do it and you WILL see results! :)

I'd like to join! (I've never been in a group or anything before so I'm not really sure what to do other than eat under my calorie goal!)

It shouldn't. I suppose the carbonation could do a little bloating, but I drink lots of it and have never noticed anything. I'd attribute bloating to other sodium in your diet or your potentially approachingTOM.

Meh - I have sort of a weird view here. I lost the first 10ish pounds of my weight loss in a semi-unhealthy fashion. I honestly didn't know it wasn't healthy, but I did notice some not cool side effects. I ate around 800 calories a day. The main side effect (to losing weight of course) was that I was SO tired. I literally…

Unfortunately, our bodies don't always run parallel to our own expectations and desires. While it would be possible to lose that much weight by August 22, it's not a good idea. It would require means that simply aren't justified by ANY end, including unhealthy crash dieting (which is unhealthy for your body AND your…

That's awful news; I'm so sorry. However, congratulations for recognizing the urge to use food to help you with emotions instead of nourishing your body and EVEN MORE CONGRATS for keeping it under control. That takes immense strength...you have it and it will help you through the rest of the journey!! Best of luck,…

Sounds fine, but I am trying to get a few more calories in. Not the 700+ that MFP is suggesting, but maybe 200-300ish.

Oh yikes! I don't know! I first watched this documentary a few months ago and the whole thing was complete...I can't find the end either! Bummer!!!!!

If I were you, (assuming you have internet access,) I'd look up some workout videos online. There is tons of stuff on youtube and its totally worth giving a look.
