I second the New Rules of Lifting...I know it isn't as easy as something online, but it's got a lot of great information and worth the price/hassle of an actual book.

Sigh, I LOVE hiking! Unfortunately it's 100+ degrees here every day (Kansas City area) and the S/O and I aren't brave enough to hit the trails. I can't wait for fall!!!

Yes! I've heard good things about the skinny cocktails. I'm now changing my mind and thinking about the Crab Cakes...I think one serving has 245 calories and 50 g of protein!!!!
-
UGH I love their cheeseburgers and 4 cheese pasta! I'm going there tonight with the inlaws and I think I've decided on the skinnylicious tuscan chicken, 585 calories and 24g of protein. Not great, but good enough!

I know I'm a lady here, but the calorie thing has more to do with muscle gain effective fat loss and less to do with tired or hungry. If I were to eat 1550 a day and be lifting heavy and doing cardio, even if it would be upwards of 40% protein, I would be putting myself at risk of not gaining the muscle I wanted to and…

I'm not usually a cardio lover - in fact I avoid it at (almost) all costs due to exercise induced asthma. Personally, I find myself getting my heart rate up with sports. Sports are more fun for me because the point isn't to work out - the point is to play a game! What gets funner than that? I'd suggest racquetball or…

I agree. As a chick with naturally strong arms and legs (aka chunky, but seriously, also strong,) I think that there comes a point where dieting and working out can only do so much. Girl you gotta learn to love yourself! Unfortunately that's harder than hitting the gym or counting calories sometimes. But it's worth it.

Bump...I'm curioso on this also

I will friend you - I'm about to start stage 2 of NROL for women and have found it AWESOME. Join the group and read every detail, it's awesome. It will answer a lot of your questions.

I started super low on weights - body weight on most to try and work on form. I'm working up but can't go very high because I'm using home equipment. (Changing soon!) I loved stage 1 also, one more bonus workout and I'm done. Push yourself but if it won't work, it won't work, and be happy with what you can do! :)

I don't know about putting together an entire anti-inflammatory diet, but I know that green tea helps me a lot, as does cucumber-lemon-ginger water. Basically putting water in a pitcher with chunks of fresh ginger and cucumber and lemon. Drinking a ton of that always helps me with inflammation. (I had some sprained ribs so…

I get what you're saying here - if you normally have your activity level at sedentary, logging everything makes sense to me. Good for you. I'd do that, but I'm too lazy to pay that much attention to detail so I just keep it at lightly active. Snark doesn't burn calories - LOL. Snarkarobics. Suggestions for slowest walking…

That's awesome! Definitely lots of difference in general shape, especially shoulders and chest and abs! Nice work. :)

Strength training!

Great! Thank you everybody. This is helping a lot.

Invest in New Rules of Lifting for Women or get it at a library. WORTH IT

My boyfriend can't have gluten for health reasons, and since I cook a lot for us, I often am gluten-free too. I'd say - don't do it. If you're thinking more along the lines of avoiding breads and pastas, that can be good and help with macro intakes (amount of protein vs carbs vs fat). However, replacing traditional wheat…

Coming from another direction completely and giving you way more reading material ;), I suggest reading the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I recently started this program after trying to stay within 1200-1400 calories per day and am LOVING it. Seriously. If you're at a plateau and looking for something new, give it a shot.

Super tan an lookin smokin' hot! Go girl

First of all, I would see a doctor. If you are exercising and eating the correct amount of calories, you should be dropping weight. I'm worried for you that there's a thyroid problem or something bigger going on that's making it hard to get the weight to come off. Secondly, congrats on being under 200 even if it is by…

No. I was a vegan for a year...I tried it specifically to lose weight, and guess what, I lost only 3 pounds in the entire year. Don't go vegan unless you have other moral reasons. Here's a short list of foods you should stil want to eat: -eggs -lean meats like chicken and turkey -skim milk -greek yogurt Too healthy and…

Thank you guys! Triumph doesn't sell near where I live, but Calvin Klein does....and they're honestly cheaper than what I've been shelling out for Victoria's Secret, and they have been sorta shabby quality. My straps are falling apart and I bought this bra 9 months ago. Thanks!

My situation is super different; I'm a girl who doesn't lift. BUT, after being on MFP, I can tell you that you will probably see some differences, but weight loss is 80% eating and 20% exercise. Keep this in mind! Good luck!

I refuse to believe it's an age thing. My mom is super active, almost 60, had two kids, and weighs less than I do. Although I lost most of my weight by diet only, I am coming from a different place, I think that the muscle you are gaining is probably why the scale isn't moving. Suggestions of things that worked for my…

I'm in a similar boat. I lost around 30 pounds and was just under 123 (I'm 5'6") and after tracking maintenance, I found a daily allowance that would keep me stable. That was around 1850 for my muscle mass which is less than it should be. Regardless, it kept me full and where I should be. However, I irresponsibly stopped…

I'd go for a pasta base - pasta is always delicious. Get a great sauce from the store and he doesn't need to know it isn't from scratch. Since your mom cooks a lot, she'd probably have some good suggestions. If you have a george foreman, that stuff can make Chicken like nobody's business. It's also nice to just roast it in…

Beautiful daughter, beautiful mother, beautiful wedding!!!

It doesn't matter at all when you eat your calories. It matters if you have already eaten your calories and you just keep on eating as a part of a habit of relaxing. This was how I put on my last bit of weight before I decided I needed to change...It wasn't that I'd eat unhealthily during the day, it was just that after I…

Lol. Good for you.

It sounds like you already know a few things you could change. To maybe simplify a few ideas to try, these are what have worked for me. Mentally: 1.) You will want to give up. Don't. Keep going. You can do this!!!! Physically: 1.) water. drink it. drink lots of it. 2.) sleep. get plenty of it. 3.) WALK. Walk with your…
