I have a sweet tooth too - a bad one. My best three tips are 1.) As for soda, try try try to switch to sparkling water with a little natural flavor. The sugar in soda is terrible and the artificial sweeteners are just as bad. 2.) Keep a little chocolate. Let yourself have a dove dark chocolate or two, whatever. It's okay…

I have definitely noticed that my body responds better to EVERYTHING, including trying to lose weight, when I'm doing three things that I consider basic functions: 1.) drinking lots of water. 2.) getting plenty of sleep. 3.) walking plenty. I like the walking because it's a low-impact way to stay moving and my body just…

Congrats!! That's so fantastic!!! :D :D

Yep, Coke zero and vodka. Sip it nice and slow, and try not to snack too much! Have fun girl!

At this very moment: really really tall red pleather pumps with a bow on the top. When I work out: purple nike's with inserts. You can guess which one is more comfortable...

Before I hit maintenance, I usually was okay with myself as long as I was between my goal of 1300 and about 1800. Since I wasn't looking to lose weight super fast, I didn't mind as long as I would still be making some progress.

Dorm rooms and music theory class.

My mom taught me super well about salad: some of my favorites are -Spinach with strawberries and roasted almond slices, balsamic vinegar and olive oil for dressing. low fat feta on top! -add thinly sliced carrots to anything! -fruit on a salad is always delicious, any fruit -nuts on salads are always delicious. -some…

Sounds like a classic plateau. There are tons of people who will have many different suggestions and these are my top five. (I didn't look at your diary so you may already be doing these things). 1.) try eating maintenance calories for two or three weeks and then returning to your weight loss calories. 2.) instead of…

It probably depends on the type of birth control. If you feel it's getting in the way of your goal, it very well may be. If you have success losing weight while not on birth control, I would especially understand your feeling that it's holding you back. My best suggestion is to meet with your doctor and get on a different…

MMm just thinking about these foods is making me hungry. I agree with everyone on here; Greek Yogurt, eggs, milk or soymilk with whey protein, grilled or baked chicken breast, and honestly just drinking lots of water. Lots of water and green tea just helps my stomach feel good no matter how much food is in it.

Well he's wrong. If he isn't emotionally ready to make the lifestyle changes necessary to lose weight, he may be looking for ways out of it without facing it himself. This isn't a girly thing at all, I'm sure plenty of guys here will testify to that.

Yummm! That looks delicious! I have heard about the soda cake recipe with a cake mix and a 2 liter thing of diet or regular soda...never tried it, but I will sometime! It's a little hard for me as my SO is gluten-intolerant. Cake mixes are definitely a hazard in this kitchen. :)

It's pretty normal. Protein is super filling. If it's worrying you or you feel like you need energy but aren't hungry, maybe try a happy medium. (Between the protein before and the protein when it's bumped up.) Good for you for getting more protein in, though! It's a big change on your stomach but will definitely help you…

I'm the same way! My boobs are maybe B cups regardless of what size I am, though. Being on birth control definitely helps, but apparantely breasts can be made of a certain tissue or a certain fat; I don't really understnad it but it does mean that everyone's boobs do different things when they lose weight. Mine didn't…

Hate to be the harsh one on here, but from the sounds of it you're either going to have to drink tea you don't like or stop drinking it altogether.

Jealous is such a harsh word for such close relationships. I sort of disagree with everyone on here - I don't think she's jealous necessarily, but I do think that she is frustrated at her own lack of progress. She's your wife and she loves you! She wants you to do well. It's a shame that she's letting her hard time get in…

Yep. I lost the first 25 of the 30 pounds by only watching calories. It's totally possible. My best suggestion is to go for a while, and once you notice your energy going down, eat more for a week or two. Then go back on the 1200 to 1400 diet, and again, after a week or two back to a number closer to your maintenance. Good…

bump! curious to see answers to this!

I'm happy to say I no longer feel fat - but when I was overweight, I THOUGHT the reasons were: 1) genetics 2) self control due to uncontrollable factors such as genetics and lifestyle 3) mental inability to make the choices in a long-term environment to lose weight But after losing the weight, the reasons I was overweight…

For me it's all about having stuff at the ready that I can grab and go. Things that work well include ready to go leftovers (beans and rice is currently my favorite for no good reason other than it's delicious and filling), and having serving sizes of chips and salsa, raisins, fruit, yogurt, whatever, all rationed out so…

I just do my best. I feel that even if I'm off by a few hundred calories, if I guesstimate only occasionally, the few hundred calories won't affect my goal by too much in the run of even a week. 3500 calories is a pound, so do your best, and those extra few calories over or under are relatively...minimal.

My boyfriend is one of those non celiac but gluten intolerant. He's never been tested, but he will tell you with 100% assuredness that wheat is TERRIBLE for his body. It manifests in the ...southern hemisphere....if that makes sense. Anyway, I cook a lot for the both of us and utilize rise an quinoa, as well as some pastas…

Unfortunately some people just don't understand what's appropriate. If I were you, I would talk to him personally and tell him that he's acting inappropriately whether it's intentional or not and you feel uncomfortable; efforts need to be made to ensure a more professional workplace. So just call him out.

My best advice is to slowly work up. Instead of jumping to a much larger caloric intake, I'd go up by maybe 50 calories every day. Keep weighing and listen to your body. If you notice drastic changes, take these into account.

^^This, exactly.

I really love popcorn (air popped) with no butter or salt. (I cheat on the salt though!) Sliced veggies and fruit are great too for a little something to munch on.

You'll be fine! Plateaus happen, and after your body loses immediately it reacts differently. I wouldn't expect the pattern to continue, and if it does, that's fine too. Big goals take lots of time, and your body needs to adjust. Best of luck to you!

I think you have all of the information regarding weight loss that will get the job done - the part that seems to have been the challenge for me, a 20 year old female, is the mental side of it when the going gets rough. Something I still want to do and haven't yet is set up a board or something and add to it when you're…
