  • Lost 63.5 pounds, went from a US size 14 to a size 0 (in the same brand), so about 7 jean sizes. In shirts, I went from a large to an xs. I am 5'6" btw
  • you really think it's okay to monitor what other people are eating and actually have the nerve to call them out on it? It's not really your place or your business.... Maybe it's just me, but that seems really rude.
  • Oh I thought this would be funnier, like annoying things that WE find ourselves saying when trying to lose weight, and not just judging other people who are trying/not trying to diet.
  • Probably about 24" I'm at 24.5-25" now and I'm close to my goal, so I think 24" sounds good. It's not really a big concern to me though, I'm much more worried about losing a few more off my hips, I would be fine if my waist stayed the same.
  • I agree with all of this, look at your weekly average, it's what actually matters. No, you're not starving yourself with an average intake of 2200, but you are making weight loss a lot more complicated and difficult than it needs to be. Try to reach your 1750 goal each day, you will end up losing more that way. Also, like…
  • Being active on MFP helped me a lot in the beginning, then making progress really helped motivate me! I also have a tumblr that helps keep me motivated too! I think getting new workout clothes is a really good idea, I always feel like working out more when I have cute workout clothes to wear! Find whatever works for you…
  • Really, if you keep the damage to the actual holidays themselves (and maybe a few days after for leftovers!) it really can't do much damage. At most I'll gain 5 lbs, and most of it will come off in a week after eating normally again! I love holiday food to much to worry about dieting on those days! I'm surprised so many of…
  • Nothing, I completely over eat and enjoy it anyways! This will be my 3rd holiday season on MFP and I plan on doing exactly the same thing!
  • I use coffeemate a lot, but I really liked So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer in Vanilla, but I haven't seen it at any of the stores I shop at in over a year! So now I use fat free french vanilla (fat free bc it's 10 fewer calories). Sugar free has a completely different taste, I'm not a big fan of it. As long as I keep my…
  • From those options, bikini. However, for myself, I prefer a less muscular look than that even. Small, skinny, but firm (no jiggle) is my ideal. ETA: I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with those looks, but it's certainly not realistic for the average women and none of them are my personal ideal for myself.
  • are you doing weights after cardio? if so, try doing weights first so you're not worn out! that might help. I just use the machines at the gym, and I do not have a lot of arm strength at all, but I do what I can and I try not to compare myself to anyone else! I always have to lower the weights when I get to a machine!
  • I took it about 2 years ago, only for a week because it made me have an anxiety attack (while I was at work, I thought I was going to die at first because I didn't know what was happening)! That was it for me, haven't taken it since and would never consider it again. Not worth it, imo, and slower loss is better for losing…
  • Last time I measured mine were 9" but it's been a while so I decided to check again and now they're 9.75"! Not sure how that happened lol, maybe I've gained some muscle after all, didn't expect that because I've lost a little since I last measured! anyways, I'm 5'6" and 123 lbs currently! I'm pear shaped though so my upper…
  • I don't think you have wide hips, but your hips do have a curve to them, they just don't seem wide. I wouldn't worry too much about what shape you are, classifying it is irrelevant. I am pear shaped, my waist is 25" and my hips are 37" but I wouldn't mind losing an inch or two off that measurement!
  • I don't know mine, so I can't say how accurate it is but I've used this one recently http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/mbf/
  • I love cheese, so for me that's a really easy way to increase my calories. My favorite brand of extra sharp cheddar cheese has 110 cals/oz and I can easily eat a serving or two by itself! I also really like Luna Bars, and those are easy snacks that can help you add 180-200 calories, they have protein ones too (I love the…
  • This. Anyone would be hungry eating 1000 calories a day (sometimes less). Eat more, you'll lose weight still and feel better!
  • If you go over MFP's calorie goal for you, that does not mean you go over maintenance. It's likely that your maintenance amount is at least 500 calories more than the goal MFP sets for you.
  • I think it's okay to have a small snack and it's okay to just go to bed (if you've already eaten enough for the day). But if you're worried that eating before bed will cause you to gain weight, it won't (unless you eat over maintenance).
  • I worked at a daycare and they served food like that, most of the kids were at completely normal weights anyways. Obviously it's not the healthiest option, but I don't think it contributed to any obesity. A lot of kids are really active, especially when they're around other kids, and the ones that I worked with definitely…
  • I'd give myself a 3-5lb window because that seems to be the normal range of fluctuation for me.
  • aw thanks :flowerforyou: that's really nice of you! I started on MFP 61 pounds heavier in November 2011, I've just been logging on ever since, trying to eat better and exercise often! I mess up a lot though lol so patience was key for me!
  • When I first made this topic, it was in a response to a body fat calculator that put me at 26% (a 90lb lbm) which I thought seemed too low, but I've done a few more that estimate me at 21% and about 99lb lbm. I don't necessarily care about that (especially right now when I don't accurately know my body fat %), but I would…
  • Thanks for both of the replies, maybe I will rethink my approach since I am now very close to my goal. I have just recently started Insanity (which I know is heavily cardio based, but I really want to try to finish it) but I think I will consider increasing my net calorie goal. Any suggestions for a reasonable net? I am…
  • How do you do that? IF maybe? I've always read that you need a calorie surplus to gain muscle and a deficit to lose fat so that's why I thought you couldn't do both? Would be interested to know though if you can! Sounds like the best of both worlds!
  • I edited my original post, but the calculator I used online gave me an estimate of 26%, but then others gave me an estimate of around 20-21 which makes a little more sense for my weight. They're all guesses though so I'm not putting a lot of stock in it, I do plan to get it measured at the gym soon! Thanks for the reply!
  • Aw, thanks! :flowerforyou: I think I was just using a weird calculation because I got more reasonable results using other calculators, but I know that it's all just an estimate anyways! Glad to hear that a little goes a long way, because I am pretty close to my goal already so I'm really hoping that the last 9 pounds will…
  • I understand that. I am very close to my goal, so I don't have much to lose right now. Either way, you can't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, so losing fat (while maintaining as much muscle as I can) is my main focus right now. Thanks for the reply!
  • I am focusing on losing fat and maintaining muscle, which will lower my body fat % and give me the look that I want. I am currently okay with the amount of muscle that I have and I think it's a lot easier to focus on losing fat than building muscle because it's pretty difficult to put on muscle right?
  • I don't have the option to edit my post anymore but I didn't want to leave those pictures up permanently! anyone know how I can remove them?
