  • YES! That's it! Thank-you.:flowerforyou: I love MFP - you get better answers than google, and quicker haha.
  • I also don't like to be hungry so I upped my exercise so I could eat more - otherwise I know I wouldn't stick with it! So as well as walking my dogs, most days I also do either C25K, Kinect Dance Central or Kinect Fitness Evolved to earn myself another 400 cals.

  • MFP already works in a deficit based on your activity level and the amount you wish to lose. So if you eat more and exercise equally, you still have a deficit - you aren't eating up to the maximum. I wouldn't be able to stick to this if I didn't eat my exercise cals as I would be hungry and feel deprived!
  • Everyone should give peas a chance.
  • ^This should be the official dictionary definition of an earwig. It made me lol.
  • In addition to the sensible advice of the other posters, I took a quick look at your profile and noticed the friends you have added have similar child-body profile pictures. If you surround yourself with people who are also underweight you are not going to get balanced advice, you are going to get the Pro Ana brigade. I…
  • I use Kinect Dance Central one day, Your Shape Fitness Evolved the next and do C25K on the third day and am seeing results after only a few weeks :) Better if you have it on medium or hard, and also the calorie counter on the workout mode is rubbish - you are better off using a HRM or just time how long you dance for and…
  • Yes, you can fail in a weekend! I went to a festival two weekends ago and didn't even eat or drink too much but had put almost 5lbs on between Friday and Monday! It took me almost two weeks to get back to the weight I was when I went away. It was probably water retention with eating processed food but still I couldn't…
  • Thanks guys - I have to answer the phone as my son has Asperger's so I need to be available if he needs me for anything. Sounds like it may be worth going Pro  A nice 'beep' to tell me when to run will do - just don't want it re-setting halfway through and making me think I've done it wrong:laugh: Don't really want…
  • I find ASDA and La Redoute sizes are quite generous. I started at 16/18 a few weeks ago and I could comfortably fit into most Asda 16 jeans whereas I would have to go a size up in other shops. Now I've lost 7lbs I'm a more comfortable 16. Just wish all shops would use the same measurements so it wasn't a guessing game. So…
  • As I'm veggie I don't eat regular burgers at all. As far as I know, veggie burgers are much lower in fat. Also they don't shrink when you cook them so the size you buy is the size you eat lol. Edited: Just checked the nutrition on Asda Meat Free Burgers 90 cals per burger 9.8g protein 3.4g carbs 3.6g fat (0.6 saturated)…
  • Does the battery need replacing? My scale sometimes does that - I jump on and off a few times and take the average, or the one I prefer
  • Your husband was right. You need to times the 11 stone by 14lbs, then add the other 5 pounds to the total. I'm assuming you are in the UK like me - I just forgot about stones altogether, set my scale to pounds and went from there. Much easier :)
  • Love the challenge. We don't eat out much - usually just special occasions - but I have been sorting through old food magazines and getting new recipes as I'm getting a bit bored and need to shake it up a little. Another well timed challenge for me :)
  • I didn't deliberately set out to find one but saw a thread called 'Twilight fans - get your vamp on by November'. I read through a little and really liked the positive and fun attitude of the group members so asked to join :) I would just keep an eye on the 'motivation' section til you see something that appeals to you :)
  • Just got back from the Download festival two weeks ago - does that count?! As I'm 40 (yikes) I've been through many music phases (indie, metal, grunge, industrial etc) and still listen to alternative stuff although, like some others, I don't really wear the t-shirt anymore. I used to have the sides of my head shaved and…
  • Haha, another English person here wondering what else bonk could possibly mean?!! To clarify, 'bonk' in the UK is a fairly polite slang word for having sex....
  • English Teacher (16-19 yr olds) for 12 years until last year when my son was diagnosed with Aperger's and I left work to support him. Now a SAHM for the next year or two until he goes to College as he only goes to school for 2 hours a day at the moment. I also mark A2 English exams for a national exam board (for non UK…
  • I totally crave carbs just before and for the first day or two...I want to eat bread etc. So I eat a little more and do more exercise to compensate so I'm still within my allowance. I don't go crazy (no donuts haha) because I know I'll get back into bad habits for the rest of the month if I do. The way I see it, if you are…
  • Thanks for sharing the pics! You look FAB and also represent me almost exactly - I started at 186, want to get to 154 AND my DS2 also did a number on my belly when he grew to just under 10lbs! Yikes! It's great motivation to see what I could look like :flowerforyou:
  • I would check with your doctor, but it seems too much of a coincidence for it not to be related to your diet. Have you given up caffeine ( coffee/ coke etc) or are you drinking a lot less of it - if so it may be withdrawal. Hope it improves soon.
  • I don't think your comment is at all conceited. I would think she's gone down a few places on your friends list! Not only does her remark make her sound tactless and mean, it also smacks of jealousy - is there something in her life that she just doesn't have the motivation to do?? is there a chance she's jealous? She…
  • So sorry about your dog but there's an ideal way to exercise if you are a dog lover - do you have a local dog shelter/ rescue centre? If so, they are usually crying out for volunteers to walk the dogs, especially the energetic ones. Before I got my three dogs, I used to volunteer at our local retired greyhound shelter as a…
  • I just think that you need to experience living on your own before you move in together. Forever is a very long time. I also think you are in a zone where you are ready to grow and he is not - and that will be where the conflict lies in the future. You will be the grown-up, whereas to him you will be a substitute mother…

  • It does sound like he isn't ready to grow up yet, and I also think that 25 is pretty young to be getting married even if you have been together for 6 years. What would marriage change? Why do you want to be married - is it just because you feel foolish that you've been together a while and people expect it? Don't let…

  • Like this new challenge and it came at the right time for me! I work as an exam marker for A Level English and spent yesterday doing my clearance marking - basically I mark some sample papers and my marks have to be agreed by the principal examiner otherwise I'm not allowed to mark (or grade, to use the American word:wink:…
  • Hey everyone :) Just checking in so you don't think I've abandoned the challenge:tongue: A combination of a three day music festival plus a suspect stress fracture in my foot means I've not been particularly watching the cals or exercising this week but hope to be back and fighting fit next week. I was only two days into…
  • I stopped drinking caffeinated coke and tea (I never liked coffee anyway) when I started having chest pains caused by stress and was diagnosed with arrythmia. After much research, one of the only things I could do aside from taking medication (which I felt too young for) was to cut out caffeine. I did that (I do have the…
  • :smokin: :smokin: Wow, I'm not even Team Edward and that headboard shot made me smile this morning! Thanks for THAT motivation! So great to hear people's C25K stories. I feel I may finally have joined the human race when I say ''I'm going for a run''. Having said that, I'm more than happy to look like Victoria by November…
  • I've only done it twice so far. Let me just say that although I have always been quite active, I've never really been good at running and even in high school when I was slim and fit, I was USELESS at running. And high school was a long time ago! First time with C25K I thought my legs were made of lead and could only manage…
