I read them to see what the fuss was about and really didn't like them at all:grumble: Hated the central characters and thought the writing was AWFUL. Repetitive, clumsy - laughable in places. You can tell they were written as fan fiction - not that fan fiction is bad, but that there were none of the structural features…

I wouldn't be able to stick at 1200 - it would be too few calories for me and I know I would give up. So I exercise and eat back my exercise cals, which typically will give me at least an extra 400-500 cals a day. Also, as you famliarise yourself with cals, you do make better choices. One person likened it to money - what…

Toned and fit women = fabulous. But none of these pics on here would make me agree that 'muscled' women like these are hot. For one thing, they have no hips which makes their whole bottom half look manly. The fake boobs (those oddly spherical and anti gravitational ones, nowt like real boobs) just add an extra level of…

I'm English so our big 'now you can drink alcohol' birthday is our 18th. That was 23 years ago, before there were any real ID issues so my friends and I had already been drinking in pubs for a year or two! For my 18th I had a big party in a club for all my friends and family, during which I drank many Black Russian…

I'm a dog walker and I was walking a labrador today when it started pouring with rain - so I started running with the dog to get back to her house and even though we didn't go very far the dog got tired and stopped before I did and I wasnt a bit out of breath :)

And another idea...you could start an informal walking club with friends and plan routes in different areas - you can catch up and chat and the miles will disappear :)

You could volunteer at a local dog shelter if your own dog isn't up to long walks? They would love the help and you would have a point to your walk. I used to volunteer at a retired racing greyhound rescue, where they get taken while they wait for a family to adopt them. They are such gentle loving hounds and really…

My cat is a ginger tom called Gus ( from 'Fergus' which means 'the red haired one') He is nearly 18 years old and I adopted him from a rescue when he was 2. He had been found skinny and straying. When we got him we were told it might be best for him to be an indoor cat but tbh I don't really like keeping cats indoors all…

I already replied but wanted to add this.....what messages are you sending to your son if he never sees you eat? How one earth is he going to have a normal relationship with food if you don't set an example? See a professional for your son's sake if not for yourself. The only way you are heading now is to the hospital if…

You might not want to hear it but it sounds like you need professional help with this - if you know you are too thin but can't stop then that, in my limited experience, sounds like you are approaching or maybe have reached the point of anorexia. You have success in your weight loss but it seems to be the only thing giving…

Anyone from this thread can add me as well. I joined ages ago, lost about 8lbs then disappeared. ... I'm currently 180 and my first goal is 154 (11 stone) so am looking to lose a similar amount. I am pretty active (have three dogs to walk and run a dog walking business, but not a gym bunny!) Have lost 4lbs in 4 days just…

We were out of rice so I had a few fries with my veggie curry. Didn't enjoy them and didn't feel full after my meal as I would have done with rice, although thanks to a big dog walk today I haven't gone over my cals:) Also four mini bars of chocolate which added an unnecessary 200 cals to my total today :/

You need to eat little and often so it doesn't build up to pain. I eat the recommended cals and eat my exercise cals back and can honestly say I don't feel hungry very often. I've also just given up eating bread completely as it seemed to be taking up far too many of my cals and it was my 'go to' snack that I would eat…

I know many couples who decided not to have kids and I totally support them even though I have 2 myself. Out of all the people I know who have said they never want kids (and I know a lot of people because I've worked as a teacher and changed jobs a few times) I only know of one person who changed her mind and after years…

I wanted to use a different name to the ones I use elsewhere so I took the 'Ms' from my usual networking name and used one of my dogs' names for the other bit = MsEmmy. I'm married but hate the term 'Mrs'. I think it makes women sound old and also I object when I fill out a form or introducing myself I'm supposed to put…

' I'd rather her not read' I've never heard anyone say that before, ever. People read for fun, they read to expand their little worlds, they read to learn what it's like to be someone else for a while. My metalhead 15 year old son reads as does his 17 yr old brother. How can you expect them to write good lyrics if they are…

You have a Roscoe and Emma and I have a Roscoe and Emmy!!

That I'll start to look my age! I've always been told I look a lot younger than I am (41). Someone I know just lost nearly 40 pounds after starting at my starting weight and although her body looks great, her face has aged. Having said this. most people who post success photos on here look amazingly younger, but I think…

I have three dogs, all sighthounds. My boys are Roscoe and Grover, whippet brothers who are 3 years old. I had wanted a dog for 10 years but my husband always said no. I finally looked him straight in the eyes and told him that I could not face a life without dogs and something must have made him realise I could no longer…

Just did the Shred (day 9) and my heart was not in it at all! It's too hot already and all I could think about was all the other stuff I have to do, and how the dogs will go mental at about 2pm cos it will be too warm to take them for an afternoon walk (I'm too ginger and one of my dogs is black and just absorbs heat from…

I started Weightwatchers online 18 months ago and just did not like it. I never really engaged in the forums on there so that might have been some of it but for me it was a waste of money. I felt it was unsustainable as I felt I was 'on a diet' rather than starting a life change towards being healthy. Unnecessarily…

Hello :flowerforyou: I'm Emmy from Cheshire. I'm 41 (and STILL find that number amusing when put in connection with me) and have two teenage sons, three whippet dogs and a cat. And a husband. I'm on day 8 of 30 Day Shred and also take the dogs for at least a 3 mile walk every day so that's my exercise! I started C25K…

I did 30 day shred and then took my dogs (three big whippets) for a four mile walk. I usually take them to the park in the car and then let them run but today I walked from home to the park 2 miles away and 2 miles back. I don't usually walk all three together as they can be a bad influence on each other( after getting…

Sorry to hijack the thread but this post worried me :- You say on your profle that you want to have kids someday? 500 calories is not sustainable, will damage your metabolism ((so you will gain weight more easily in future) and can cause major problems with your reproductive organs, causing infertility. What you describe…

I''ve got two whippets and a whippet x but they are big for whippets - so medium sized dogs, really (22" and 16kg) I always preferred big dogs. However, I do have a bit of a soft spot for some small dogs like Boston Terriers but could not bring myself to pay £1400 for a dog when there are hundreds of dogs getting…

Some people forget that they were new here once. We've all asked questions and then thought 'D'oh, I should've searched to see if it's already been asked.' but some people just act all superior and occasionally downright rude. Just ignore them and take advantage of the many genuine and helpful people. I've found loads of…

At the risk of sounding totally flippant and/ or preachy, I find that remembering how many people in the world have no access to safe clean drinking water makes it a bit easier to swallow. .. More practically, try water at different temperatures - some people find that very cold water is easier to stomach, others (like…

I'll be doing Level 1 Day 6 today. After Day 1 I was sore! I thought I must have been doing it wrong, like other people have said it was sitting down on the toilet that caused most pain haha. For Day 2 and 3, I really felt I couldn't do it properly cos of the pain. I did it, but was having to take rest breaks every three…

Mine is set at 1200 which I know I couldn't stick to so I do exercise every day and eat back the calories. MFP already works out a deficit for you so even eating back the exercise cals I still lose weight steadily

I think people WANT to think there's something wrong with colleagues who are becoming a healthy weight, because if they think it is a result of a healthy diet and exercise the next question they have to ask themselves is 'Why have I not done that, then?' They don't like the answer (that they don't yet have the motivation/…
