  • Today I swam for 40 mins - 40 lengths, followed by a 25 min walk.
  • I eat breakfast when I get into work, 2-3 hours after I get up depending on whether I exercise. Can't say that it's caused me any problems
  • OK, sorry if this is a bit long winded. I have already lost a considerable amount of weight, but still have plenty to go. I'm quite happy with the way I have been doing this, it works when I do it properly, but so far all of the exercise I have been doing has been cardio. I started off just walking and using a stationary…
  • Brilliant Helen, thank you for sharing, here's to the next year!
  • I'm not any more, but I certainly used to be, this site and the support I have received has been fantastic in helping me to lose and I am certain it will help me to my goal weight. Good luck everyone :flowerforyou:
  • I turn 40 in 15 months time and I am determined to be at my goal by then. I find it quite hard to believe though, I don't feel any different to being in my twenties, except have a bit more self belief and respect now. Good luck to you all :flowerforyou:
  • When I started I did a lot of walking at the weekends when I had time, but I also bought a cheap exercise bike, and used that most days, gradually increasing the resistance and the time I spent on it. After a year I had practically killed the poor bike (I really was too heavy for it) but it got me to the point where I now…
  • I started at 330lbs, with limited funds and no self confidence making the gym a big no no. Walking was my primary exercise in the first few months, I found a route I liked and did it as often as I could. I had to start adding extra bits after a while, as my pace increased, so that I could still walk for the same time. I…
  • Absolutely. More often than I should do recently, if I'm honest, but I always come back, this is a long, long journey for me, I need to work it into a lifestyle, and taking breaks will def be a part of that. Good luck on the rest of your journey :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you so much for sharing your story on here, you are an amazing person :)
  • Nice, I'm currently half way through C25K, but once I have done that, I will def have a look at this app! I also have a race for life in July to train for, fleeing Zombies should give me the impetus that I need.
  • I totally understand you, it almost becomes a vicious circle, you don't feel good, so you don't make any effort to look good, then you feel worse, so you don't worry about gaining more weight, looking worse, finding nice clothes gets harder so you worry even less, and so on and so on. I feel like I lost myself completely…
  • I also think you look great already, and I love your smile. I do know how you feel, I get discouraged when I see people with a starting weight lower than my goal, but I also sometimes question peoples honesty. Not necessarily this girls, but people say 'this is me at my heaviest, 200lbs', and I have to think that either…
  • Fantastic, well done! :o)
  • I went swimming last week for the first time in years, I haven't felt confident enough previously to actually be seen in a swimming costume, but I managed to swim 30 lengths (25m each), and am planning on swimming once a week and increasing the amount of lengths gradually.
  • I'm not sure that I can offer a lot more than anyone else, but I can tell you what has worked for me if it's any help. I too have tried and lost weight many times before, only to stop and gain it back again, I can't really say what it is that has clicked for me this time, but I have definitely stuck with it better than I…
  • Happy Friday from London :drinker:
  • I find that planning ahead really helps me. I doesn't worry me to eat the same stuff every day, which helps, so I normally make a big batch of something for my lunches, buy fruit and yoghurtsl for the week for my breakfasts, and make sure I know that there is something good for me to eat each night. In the mornings I input…
  • Firstly, unless I'm missing something, I think your title is somewhat misleading. There's no suggestion that he wants to date you. He's having a good look. He likes the view. Take that as a compliment. He doesn't know you, never spoken to you, for all you know, he's married and just likes looking at fit girls at the gym.…
  • Can I suggest that you start with smaller goals. Your ticker shows '145lbs to go', which will sometimes feel like an impossible number. Start with a goal of 10lbs or however you like to break it up. Then, when you've lost 5lbs, you'll be half way to that goal, it will look so much more achievable, than another 140. Get an…
  • I currently weigh about 225lbs, and have just started C25K. I am embarrassed, a bit, but being embarrassed wont help me lose weight or get fit, so I'm just going to carry on with it, if people don't like it, it's their problem, not mine, but for the most part I really don't think people care, especially not those that are…
  • Mine is dark brown, with lots of grey. At the moment it's dyed a really dark blue, so looks almost black except under light. Other times it's purple or red.
  • 1 - I sometimes log my alcohol as quick calories so I wont get judged 2 - I don't eat my exercise calories during the week (but I drink them at the weekend - see above) and I absolutely cannot get my head around the eat more to lose/net calories business. 3 - I hate my job, but it's easy and I'm lazy and it gives me time…
  • I've recently started having greek yoghurt and a banana, I eat at my desk around 8.30 - 9, and that normally keeps me going until lunch at 1.
  • Baby steps my friend, it's a long, slow journey. If you used to eat junk most days, and have now cut back to one day a week, then that is amazing. There may well come a time when you only want it once a fortnight, and so on, but it takes time, patience and perseverance. What you possibly need to beware of, is the mindset…
  • OK, I think I just confirmed my geek status, the old man just said to me 'The Final Cut is just for geeks really!'
  • haha, fair enough, I admit to being grumpy!
  • You look pretty too! Well done
  • My highest recorded weight was 330lbs in May 2010. I didn't weigh myself when I started this in Jan 2011, but I'm guessing it could have been as much as 350lbs. My current weight is 227lbs, and I'm looking to be around 140. I'm 5'7".
