You can't make people "get it". They either do or they don't. Sounds like they don't. Keep doing what you are doing. You also have the option to say "No" to the cake and ice cream too.

If you want to fit in some quick workouts consider Tabata. Air squats tabata style are thigh burners for sure! If need info on Tabata: http://tabatatraining.org

If you have to walk most of it, do so. I ran by a lot of people walking the course.

Warrior dash isn't that difficult. Couch to 5K is a good program to get you ready.

Did the Michigan/Ohio TM on 04/14/2012. I've been invited to join a different team for the 09/15/2012 one in Wisconsin. I have a Warrior Dash or two in between for fun.

I did Michigan/Ohio Tough Mudder this past Saturday (04/14/12). And yes, it's way harder than Warrior Dash which I did last year.
