south beach is kinda of similar to primal or paleo eating. I would suggest reading up on that....I try to follow the primal thing, it works for me. I love carbs and sugar too...so hard for me to stop, but, my body responds best to high protein/fat and and low starchy carbs. I still eat veggies but limit my fruit. I try and…

Tameko, I am familiar with the program, my husband is a personal trainer and he adds other compound movements or has me vary it at times. I.e. front squats or a instead of an overhead press and Clean and Press.
-
actually sam a 5x5 can be any 5 compound movements, you can totally mix it up to keep it interesting

I have been doing it...I love it! I found alot of women to be intimidated with lifting, but I get good results. I have lost of ton of inches. I vary between heavy lifting and Metcons...or metabolic conditioning, where you don't rest in between exercises, not heavy weight. I actually prefer this kind of workout over cardio…

You look amazing...fabulous job mom!! LOL so hard to stay on track with kids at times.

Ground turkey...you can get four 1 lb packages for around $15....and a bag of frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts for $20 I think it is about 10 lbs. Fresh fruit, spinach, bell peppers, cottage cheese, we also get the 4 dozen eggs....last you a while and with that you can make regular eggs, omlettes, fritatas.…

On a traditional smith machine yes...on a floating smith machine you have more range of motion. You can go forward and back not just up and down.
-
U can also try deadlifts on a floating smith machine. Sometimes this will help keep your form intact. Start out with the bar unloaded and just get your form down. If it is bothering you, it is probably because you are breaking form and using your back instead of your hips.

I work night shift 7p-7a....I still find things difficult. I do pretty well with food, I plan things and bring it with me, including plenty of snack options. I have 3 kids at home, so I don't always get the best sleep. I probably average 5 hrs a day. On my mondays I usually find myself up for 24 plus hours before I get to…

you can get exercise induced headaches, I think it is typically from dehydration. Try getting a good 8-16oz in about 30-40 min before you exercise and see if that helps.

He may not be a fitness professional or credentialed but he hit the nail on the head. My husband is a fitness professional and he would say everything that the poster did.

yep it sure does...pretty much sums up my hubby for sure.

Don't be afraid to lift. At first the scale may not move alot, but don't worry, you are making more progress than you think. I lost more inches than I did weight at the beginning from primarily lifting. I lost 24 inches in about 2 - 2 1/2 months, 2 pants sizes. It really is the way to go!

trophy, 30?

Totally agree with this! I have always had one person I could identify with and this year...no one! I am even frustrated with the way that all of them are just following Conda and Kim like a bunch of sheep heading to slaughter. There numbers are not very good each week and for a season of No Excuses...they all seem to just…

I used too...but not anymore...and I am not going back! Considering he is almost a foot taller than me and all muscle...I was very embarassed by this.

Damn this is funny and exactly how I feel about myself running!
