  • I teach French! Welcome! Bienvenue!
  • Get your *kitten* in gear, woman, and pull yourself together. Stop with the excuses. Enough words, let's see some action. How's that? :-)
  • Well, you didn't gain 3 lbs from one day's food. That's pretty much impossible. It's water weight, etc. It will come off throughout the course of the week. This is why you don't weigh yourself every day. You CAN help it. Put away the scale. Hide it. Do whatever you need to do. But if you continue to weigh yourself every…
  • I cook chicken for lunch on Sunday, and eat it through Friday. I haven't gotten sick yet. You'll be fine.
  • I would think any muscle weight would be counteracted by the fat lost, especially if you have a lot of fat to lose, like I do. I don't have any programs though. I think that's why I haven't really started it -- I don't really know what to do. I may just pay for one session with a trainer to outline a program for me, and do…
  • I really need to start, too. I've lost all my weight so far just by doing cardio. I'm afraid if I keep it up that way, I'll be nothing but skin! So yes, start! I will too.
  • Best pic ever! Great job!
  • I am a high school French teacher. I love my job because I get to share my excitement for the language that I love, and work with a great bunch of kids. I'm the only French teacher in the school, so I work with the kids all four years. I love watching them grow from 9th to 12th grade and getting the opportunity to build a…
  • I don't get tired of eating the same thing for lunch every day. I like the routine, and it makes tracking easy. I usually do it for one work week at a time, though. Then the next week, I'll think of another recipe to use for the week.
  • I make my own burrito bowls sometime: On Sunday, I: 1) Grill up a bunch of chicken. I marinate mine in some Southwest Seasoning and Chipotle Rub that I have. Any seasonings will do. 2) Cook up a bunch of brown rice. Then add some chopped cilantro and lime juice to it. Weekday mornings (or the night before), I: 1) Throw a…
  • I link mine, and I know that my activities have inspired other friends on there. I did have one friend tell me to stop posting all about my fitness because he didn't care to read it. I then reminded him it was my Facebook profile and that if he didn't want to read what I was posting, he could remove me as a friend. I don't…
  • It'll work, but it'll just taste like bread with sauce and cheese. That would be enough to fix a pizza craving, perhaps. You'll need to toast the bread first so that it doesn't get soggy.
  • Great job! It can sometimes be hard to see the difference in ourselves because we see ourselves every day. You can definitely notice in those pictures though! I'm glad you posted them.
  • I will smile when I'm at goal. :)
  • Aw shucks. :) Wait until you see me at goal, then!
  • You look incredible! Great job!
  • How long have you tried doing them? If exercise were fun from the get go, everyone would be thin. I used to honestly hate being at the gym. It took about a month of consistently going for me to actually start enjoying it.
  • You'll be able to do it. I do both, and I'm still large guy (6'2", 259). You may struggle with some of the poses in yoga, but who cares? You'll get there eventually. Neither are big calorie burners, but they're great for strengthening your core, which is just as important.
  • Welcome! You'll do great!

  • Don't do anything about it. You exercised, and you tracked. That's all you can do. There's no sense in beating yourself up over it. It's not like you do this every day, no? Okay then...so no worries and tomorrow you start anew.
  • I'm the same way. I've gone 23 days in a row and finally took a day off today. I figured, "I have the energy and I'm not sore, so I should just keep going!" and 5 days turned into 23. But even the day off today turned into doing some dumbbell work at home. It's very easy to become obsessed.
  • Haha...I love that the high road was closed! I'm totally stealing that line for my own use one day. :)
  • Merci bien! And a big merci to everyone else for your words of encouragement!
  • I jogged 3 miles yesterday and 10 today.
  • The amount that you sweat has nothing to do with the amount of calories that you burn. Sweating is just your body cooling itself off. Sure, if you sweat an extreme amount you may lose a small bit of water weight. However, as soon as you take a sip, you'll gain it all back. So, why bother with the discomfort/added heat of…
  • Pizza, because I can't stop at one, two, or three pieces.
  • I love her. Her Thintervention show is what inspired me to start this journey. I got her book and tried to follow her clean eating plan, but it was too much for me. But, it did serve as the springboard. I'd love to work out with her.
  • Yep! We do need to be our own men's support group! Bring on the friend invites!
  • You're gonna have to experiment and see what satisfies you. Some people prefer a bigger breakfast, and others a smaller breakfast. Some like to have it evenly divided. It all depends on your body and when you are hungry. Are you a snacker? Some people don't snack at all, and others have 5-6 small meals spread out…
  • Yes, it's good for you. High in protein, and the fat is the good fat. Remember, our bodies need fat. It's best to get a natural peanut butter -- one that is just basically just ground peanuts. Processed peanut butters like regular old Jif or Skippy have added sugars.
