I also like stronglifts 5 x 5 as it is basic and that works for me. I'm not keen on programmes that require lots of different exercises to do each workout.

I'm slowly getting better a OHP ! I'm still only on the 20kg bar only but last workout I did 1 x 4 reps, then 4 set of 5 reps and I am not struggling as much as I used to. Took me a while haha. I would get my knees checked out first, physiotherapist or similar, not your regular GP. Do squats with them so they can check your form make sure you are warming up glutes beforehand. Look up glute activation exercises.

start against a wall, then slowly work you way down lower, eg bench or table top, and then lower. Concentrate on technique. Butt and core tight !

I eat after. If I am doing cardio ( muay thai class) I need to leave around 2 hours otherwise I feel sick in the class.

well if I use my work gym I walk down 4 flights of stairs :D For my muay thai gym it's a 30 min walk from work and then I bus home, so the home journey is about 35 mins including walking home from bus at the best

I have a small gym at my work and so it is a mix of ladies and gents. At first I was very self conscious lifting small weights while the guys where lifting heavy, now I do not give a toss !!

I do muay thai . I use raja ( 10 oz) and twins ( 16 oz) , both fit and feel good.

I read that doing hardstyle plank for say 10 sec is more beneficial than say a 2 min plank, as you are tensing everything and makes the core work harder. It is quite hard to hold for longer than 10 sec apparently. Any truth in this?

yes it is so hard ! I'm stuck on the bar only. I started with 5 sets of 3 reps and now I am up to 5 sets of 4 reps. also I find barbell rows hard to do, the part where you are supposed to pull your shoulder blades together, like it's hard to get my shoulder blades to do this and I am on a low weight !

well yep here I am. I was doing well last year. We adopted a dog from the shelter just before Christmas so I stopped going to the gym for a bit so we could focus on her . Now my thighs are back to being jiggly and bum is all wobbly again.... sigh. I've undone my work. and I am early 40's so it's not easy for me.

I do thai boxing classes. I used to static stretch before and found once in class my muscles would feel really tight. Now I just foam roll, then kick the bag a bit to warm up before class. I have a super hard time kicking with my right leg ( as in turning the hip over into the kick) so I am going to work on warming that…
