  • My daughter was on meds for Bipolar and some of them caused a lot of weight gain, despite diet and exercise, she couldn't get to her normal weight-that in turn caused more depression. When her meds changed the weight came off and she STOPPED working out and eating well, so it was a double edged sword.
  • No better time! Last time I had to take Prednisone I did lose some weight, drink lots of water! Often times when we feel hungry we are really dehydrated. Welcome to the only place that has helped me and I've been able to stick to for more than a month or 2. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like, this is a very…

  • I spread it on crunchmaster's crackers for a very low cal delicious snack
  • Endurance......a wonderful NSV! Congrats to you!
  • What a wonderful gift your giving yourself, a healthier life! Happy Birthday!:flowerforyou:
  • Try seasoning with celery salt and pepper, spray w/non-stick and bake, juicy inside and crispy outside. I've also done the dried onion crispy baked without using the egg or milk dip, very good but be sure to spray again with non-stick.
  • The yogurt that was supposed to have fruit and didn't, so I tried it, yuck, and the tic tacks I had to have when I was on medicine that gave me a Horrible taste in my mouth, they were 1 cal each!
  • If you have suits or nice work cloths, please consider "Dress for Success" in your area where they help women, and men I think, who are being helped back into the community from being homeless or incarcerated. It's a worthy organization and yes, it is a tax write off.
  • I'm a nurse also and a DIetician taught me to always have carb/fat/protien with every meal and snack to keep sugar steady (basic glycemic index stuff-VERY basic). Disclaimer, intended-please try a free clinic or sliding fee scale clinic most states have if you don't get better soon! Best wishes to you, Peggy
  • Welcome! What everyone else said, stay true to yourself here, log everything is the second step, joining was the first. The smoking, I quit 6 months ago, Friend me or send me a message, I'd love to help you with that part. I gained 8 pounds with my quit and I've lost 24 since joining here. This is DOOABLE! You are worth it…
  • My work schedule changes by the day, so I work out when I can, and on my days off I try for "2 a days" something early, something later. The more often you can get your heart rate up, the sooner you'll see changes (espcially for women over 40, the first thing that goes is our metabolism).
  • BUMP! Me too!
  • I'm at a desk talking on the phone all day, while waiting for calls I'm known for doing squats and lunges, my co-workers have adjusted to the movement and some even get up and march behind their chairs now also.
  • My thoughts exactly, day 8 of Level 1 was much better, and a great work out, I'm excited for Level 2, but I'm going to finish the 10 days on 1 to make sure I'm ready. I lost 4 lbs the first week, the change in my cloths is amazing!
  • I have found great success with 30 DS, never tried slim in 6. I was really stuck and after one week, (missed one day) I lost 4 pounds and a few inches. Hard at first for me, but gets easier by day 5 and you move up every 10 days, so I don't think it gets too boring. For under 10 bucks at Target or Walmart it was a great…
  • Oh those abs are going to LOVE you! :) I have to thank you for starting this challenge, I had been plumb stuck for a few weeks, only losing 1/2 pound or so a week and between this and the 30DS I lost 4 WHOLE pounds this week, WOOOO HEEEEE! made up for all of August slow loss.
  • I found Crystal Light Pure Fitness actually caused my BG (Sugar) to go up. I'm borderline Diabetic so I watch closely when I change something in my diet. I don't like the taste of water at work so I add lemon juice or sugar free flavor, but at home I go straight water.
  • I just started experimenting with the "Garden Pastas" that have veggies in them (Fabulous) and prepared sauces, like basil or sun dried tomato alfredo sauce, simply delicious and low cal. A side salad or fress steamed green veggie along side never hurts.
  • Freddy Couples and Tom Cruiz (am I showing my age here?):blushing:
  • There is a big difference between having the tools in the tool box and having the motivation to use them. Make a list of how your life will be different when you use your tools. How will you feel? what health problems will you prevent or lessen? What will your family, co-workers, friends have to say? How much respect will…
  • Amazing, thank you for sharing with us, such an inspiration and motivator!
  • Welcome! Thats a great attitude! It's a change in lifestyle, not a diet, and small changes, a little at a time will reap great rewards. If you slip, pick yourself right back up and get back on the road to wellness. I encourage you to join challenges and make friends, that is what has helped me stay focused and accountable…
  • I was serving on active duty as the Navy and Marine corps liaison at Walter Reed Army Hospital in DC. I was supposed to be taking a patient on a tour of the Pentagon that day, but he was too ill to go..........I was in a meeting on psych ward when the terror started and couldn't let my family know for hours that I wasn't…
  • Did day 5 of level 1, second day on Prednisone for a bad sinus infection and barely made it through, WOW, I feel worse than day one. I may not move to level 2 on day 11 unless this infection is gone, really wiping me out :(
  • You need to ask your doctor exactly which part of you needs the 6 weeks for recovery....is it the tendon or your over-all body with regenerating blood or healing the ulcer. Please don't try anything until you are clear in what he wants you wait to do and ask HIM what you can do. Your situation was very serious and unless…
  • Welcome Ed, My sister had come to a plateau with weight watchers and joined here. She found she was way over calories but not points and this site jump-started back up her weight loss. I'm not saying WW isn't good, it works for many people but the point system doesn't work for everybody. Enjoy the site! Peggy
  • Great job on quitting smoking! I did 200 days ago, its a great feat! I weigh every day, nothing wrong with it if you use the info the correct way. That being said, use it as a motivator. If my weight goes up I chalk it up to muscle mass if I've had good workouts, if I haven't I take a good hard look at what I ate. Realize…
  • Yup, definate NSV's!! I work in a call center full of NURSES.....I hear every day "you've lost too much weight" or "you lose so easily" if only they knew how much work goes into this! Yes, most of them are way over weight because we sit all day, but I look at their words as NSV's and you should too, we are getting healthy!
