  • I don't think you are the only one thinking about having to get into a bathing suit! You are not gaining at what you are eating, so why don't you just stay there for now and plan on doing a reset in the fall when you are ready? For me, I don't want to waste anymore time spinning my wheels, so I jumped right in to a reset.…
  • Also, if you are continually netting under BMR, perhaps your activity level is set too low and those calories could be spread throughout the week a little better?
  • I think you need to get through TOM and see where you are at. I would be concerned both about my cycle being messed up both timing and symptoms, and also that I was losing a little fast, but that may even itself out over time. I wonder if you put your activity up to strenuous if that would come out to the same numbers as…
  • I just have to jump in and remind people that fat2fit bases their calorie recommendation on your GOAL weight, so the TDEE they come up with is the TDEE of your GOAL weight, not your current weight. If you are close to goal, probably no biggie, but if you are still a little ways away from goal, this would make a big…
  • I use this method to make kale chips too. Wash and pat dry the kale, tear into chip size pieces, getting rid of the thick tough stem, spray with a dash of cooking spray to get your seasonings to stick, and microwave the same way, just maybe not as long. Nice and crispy and nutritious!
  • Wow, this thread moves fast at times! To everyone concerned about weight gain, this is what I try to keep in mind: You are resetting to repair the damage done while starving yourself and working out way too much if that was the case. The damage was not just to your metabolism, there was some physical damage. Some of the…
  • Good luck, I am 3 weeks is and it has been pretty painless  Just wanted to mention there is a sticky at the top of the stickies for resetters:flowerforyou:
  • I think you got some good advice and I just wanted to add something. I can see how this EM2WL could be a slippery slope for some (including me) to use it as a free for all to eat whatever, whenever so we all have to be careful. Especially those of us who have restricted for so long. For me, I am trying to eat 2500 calories…
  • So how is everyone doing today? I have noticed this week (just finished week three and am a couple days into week four), that I am waking up very hungry. Not that I never woke up hungry before, but I haven't woken up hungry since I started my reset because I had been so full all the time. I think the full feeling is…
  • Someone else started out doing that, eating from the previous days burn, but it got too tedious for him to keep changing his total and figuring out what to eat to get to different numbers, so he averaged his burn over 1-2 weeks and was eating that amount consistently. That way, you kind of know what foods will get you to…
  • You got it! Good luck, and keep checking back in.
  • I am backing off quite a bit. I was killing myself walking, running, HIIT, lifting weights, etc. I thought I had to burn a ton of calories in a day in order to lose weight. I was just messing up my metabolism more. So part of my reset is giving myself a break from the running and HIIT. I still lift weights 3x per week…
  • I think this got answered above, but just in case, No, just eat at TDEE and don't worry about your exercise calories, they are figured into your TDEE when you selected your activity level. Hopefully you selected the appropriate one. Once in a while you may have an unusually high burn day and if so, just check to see that…
  • I always understood fat to fit to base your calorie goals off of your GOAL weight. So it would naturally be lower than the calories based off of your current weight. Go with Scooby. I like the fat to fit site, but it doesn't work for this situation. Not sure why fitfrog is so low???
  • I think that sounds like a perfect time to do a reset. I wish I had known about this when I was laid up this winter with a broken tailbone. I could have eaten more while I rested, but instead I drastically cut my calories and probably did more damage while losing all my muscle, ugh! Why are you afraid of that last 100…
  • Hmmm, I think if I hadn't been doing vlcd, I would have just started at my cut personally, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to do a reset if you want to be sure. You probably wouldn't have to do it as long and it may help you to figure out what your TDEE or maintenance level is for sure. Also, I know a lot of people in the…
  • I am sorry you are struggling, I know how hard it is to trust what you are doing is right. If it makes you feel any better, I am feeling puffy and bloated and my scale is up some too, but I know it is part of the process. I think resetting is right for you when you get sick of the other process. The trying so hard,…
  • From what I understand, only pay attention to NET if it takes you below BMR. If it does, eat back enough calories to get above BMR. This should only happen occasionally because you should already have your activities figured into your TDEE, so normal days, you shouldn't go under BMR, only on unusually high burn days. If…
  • I am so excited to see this thread! I will be good to get to know other resetters and help each other out. I will spare you all my long story that I posted in another thread, but in a nutshell, I have been eating too little and working out too much for about a year and a half now. I have lost 60 pounds and have been…
  • Congrats and thanks for the inspiration!
  • Well done! What an amazing difference. How many weeks are you in now?
  • I have and use the body sculpting bible and I think if you start out with that it would be perfect. Just make sure you are upping your weights whenever you feel like you can, try to push yourself. With eating enough, I am upping my weights every workout. I am doing my own version of the advanced program, only 3 days a week…
  • Love this!
  • I have a similar experience, I have a friend that went for lap band surgery almost a year ago now and is already to goal, I have been at this for about 17 months now. I have been working my butt off exercising, she doesn't exercise. I have been diligently counting calories, macros and restricting myself when I was truly…
  • I just wanted to add, that I do agree with Scott on the cardio aspect, at least while trying to do a reset. If in fact if your body is rebelling for not feeding it and working out excessively, then this is the time to give it a break. Your body may see the cardio as stress to the body, put out extra cortisol and cortisol…

  • Maybe that shake is a good place to start adding some calories in. I take it you don't use a blender? With a blender, I would suggest adding some greek yogurt or regular yogurt, peanut butter (or any nut butter). Or maybe use milk to mix it with instead of water? My shakes end up being more calories, but I use a packet…

  • Oh, and maybe beef up that shake a little with some peanut butter, healthy oil, flax or something like that? What do you currently put in it? Who ever thought eating more would be difficult at times? I never would have dreamed!

  • I think that sounds like a good plan! Some people plug their food in ahead of time, like the weekend before the week, or just the night before. I can't do that because my tastes change, but maybe it would work for you. What I do find helpful is to at least get dinner plugged in kind of early, so I know what I have to work…

  • I learned this the hard way too. I now try to have more calories at breakfast and lunch in order to not have so much to eat later on. I think my old mindset had me saving calories in order to enjoy dinner and now I don't have to do that!

  • Do you feel your readings are the same when in your bra? I tried it in my left band under my arm one day while out in the garden (trying to avoid a tan mark around my arm) and the readings seemed low, compared to other days, but I guess I should try it a few different times.
