I'd agree with the shoe comment- I started the C25K and my arches were killing me! I went to the shoe store and it's made a world of difference! I'd also say, personally, that what's "running" for others may not be running for you- I started by always picking 5 for run- the second week (90 seconds of running) I couldn't do…

I've done ww too, and LOVE that MFP is free!!! ( never got to the maintenance point, though, so I never had the free/pay if you're over experience).

Love to!

Great job!!!

I'm 5'9, 34 yo and I used the MFP recommendations from when I started (Sept) til about a week ago (around 1400 calories, eating back most/all of my exercise calories). I lost about 28 lbs that way then plateaued and yo-yoed the same 2-3 pounds for about a month. So a little over a week ago, I read TONS in the forums, and…

Rockstar!!!

I just started C25K, and I'm doing okay on the treadmill- I think it depends on your stride. I have a harder time in group fitness classes not clocking someone in the head when I swing my arms :)

I'm 5'9 and my goal is around 150 for a final goal (I set smaller goals along the way).

Awesome job so far!! Wow, what a great loss!!
-
Way to go on your loss so far!!! That's terrific!!!!

That depends on body shape, I'm sure- my smallest weight of 156 was a size 10 (and a few select 8s). When I was 185, that was more of size 14-16 (I'm 249 now and a size 20)
-
The smallest I ever was was 156 and I was pretty happy there. I think I have my goal set up for 150, or maybe 160? My starting weight was 280 and I'm 31 lbs down at 249. 9 more lbs until my pre pregnancy weight of 240, which is my next goal. I try to set smaller goals. My first was 10 lbs. Then 10% total weight loss, which…

Terrific NSV! Nice work!

Yes- good burn, lots of fun! I will say to be prepared to not know what you're doing the first (okay, first few) times, just keep moving, even if you're not doing exactly what the instructor is! It's tricky because most zumba instructors only use nonverbal cues, and they don't teach the moves first, so you basically have…

Thanks :)

Yeah, I wish the estimates were a little closer together :) I've been doing 1390 (based on MFP calculations) but also eating back my exercise calories, so realistically eating around 1800-2000 (I try to always keep my net within 200 points- so I don't drop net below about 1200).

Best. Thread. Ever.

Me too!

My husband is 5'7.5 or so, and I'm 5'9. To be honest, I'm a little self conscious about it, but I'm more self conscious that we look like Jack Sprat in his wife- he weights somewhere around 170 pounds- I was over 100 pounds heavier than him at one point.

(forgot to quote the previous post...re: shoe size) I'm a 10/10.5 and it seems like they stop making half sizes after size 9. ARGH

I go to class, I don't have it on wii, so I can only answer from that perspective. I can now saw (after 4 weeks, 3-4 times per week) that I'm no longer the worst :) There is a learning curve, of course- I might suggest, if you can, to take an in person class- if nothing else, at least you'll see how many others are…

Yes, and I like them fine. There is a smell- you need to blanch them. Also, the texture is odd, I don't mind it personally, but I can see how it could be very off-putting to some.

Great tip, thanks!

I'm so glad you asked this- I was wondering too, and was thinking of posting the same topic. Here's my take on it (but no clue if this is "right":) I try to switch the activities, hoping that it kind of makes up for the lack of rest day. For example, Monday: 5K training (run/walk at the moment), Tues- Zumba, Wed- 5K…

I also do smaller goals- just met my first @28 lbs lost (10%), next goal is 25 (10% of where I am now)
-
I needed to lose 130, I'm down 29 (yipee!) so 101 to go! not positive how to add you but I'll try :)
-
I have adjusted it myself thus far, but I think I read that it is supposed to automatically do so (maybe every 10 lbs?).

I bought the tape years ago (I think when it very first came out, it wasn't expensive back then b/c it wasn't so popular...it was a tape, so you can tell how long ago it was) and couldn't follow it, and I kinda gave up (and got rid of the tape, wish I hadn't now!) . I don't know about the new dads, but I would say that…
