I'm on week 3 but I haven't been on these forums in years, just happened upon it by chance tonight haha. I'm doing my journey in IG - @kyleefit if you want to follow, I'll follow you too! You can also add me here :) I'm a power lifter who's been injured and so I'm doing BBG instead until I can lift, if ever.

You will get results I promsie! Lifting is the best :)

ACTUALLY I just discovered this amazing bookmarklet someone made that lets you edit down to the GRAM your macros in MFP!!! It's a godsend! You can also elect to set it as percentages down to 1% increments! http://karoshiethos.com/2013/08/13/javascript-bookmarklet-for-enhanced-macro-goals-in-myfitnesspal/

I think it's a great way to start! there are a few different beginners programs that are all a little different and are good for different people... I recommend checking out Stronglifts, NROLFW, Jamie eason's LiveFit, or Sean Sarantos 'Fit freak project'. If you're interested in the latter, PM me your email and I can send…

I'm not sure where you heard that 100 is the max for you.. the max I would recommend is 1g per lb of body weight, but more often than not I see 1g per lb of lean body mass is also acceptable. This book has calorie and macro recommendations, maybe it will help you figure out what you want to do:…

I totally agree! Love the empowered feeling I get :) :) Thanks for the follow!

Nope you can definitely start lifting asap! strength training helps you maintain your muscle mass while you are losing weight. without strength training and eating at a deficit you will lose more muscle with the fat you lose, if you strength train it helps you lose just the fat :) (well you still lose a litte muscle just…

Hey! I am 5'8", I think I mentioned it but maybe I didn't :) Everyone's goal weight will be different though, the scale really isn't what's important. As I mentioned in my 2 year update post, although my initial weight goal was 128 lbs-130 lbs, now it's more like 138 because of the muscle I have gained. Plus everyone has…

Thanks! I aim to lift 4x a week, some it's 3 and some it's 5 or 6. But on average 4x. I am 5'8".

Lol! Yeah we're pretty similar! And eek 1340?!?! that's so little!! Thank goodness you're eating more now!
-
Toning isn't real, it's just having muscle with a lower level of body fat. But lifting consistently will get you there!
-
I'm so sorry I know you posted this a while ago, but lifting in general requires a lot of calories and so does your body! The calculations aren't just made up, they're in there for a reason. Just have to trust the process. Our whole lives we've been told that we need to starve ourselves to lose weight. In all honesty, it…

Aw thank you! It's taken a long time to learn all this... I was always the non-athletic type and now I'm so different! But once you find something you love, dive right in! I'll add you, let me know if you have questions.

Thanks everyone!

You're confusing TDEE with BMR a few times in this thread. Your BMR is the number in the 1400s which is the number you should NEVER go below for losing weight. My best friend is 5'0 and 130 lbs and losing at 1630 cals a day. You're eating way too little especially considering how little weight you have to lose. I agree…

For anyone wondering how things have been going for me in the past year since this post was originally posted... In the past year I've continued various heavy lifting / accessory lifting programs. I've added in a little cardio here and there, more recently about 3x a week 15-20 min hiit since January 2014. In May 2013 I…

I sent you a PM about this with more info, but for everyone else wondering.... so the way losing weight works. You can lose weight faster while you have a lot to lose until it slows down. When you lose fat you inevitably also lose muscle. The bigger your deficit the more muscle you lose with your fat. To put this in…

Aw thanks so much everyone! @the nutritionist's comment, don't worry I have done a lot of research on my macro intake and it's been 2 years, I'm good! You definitely will see great results! And don't worry, everyone starts somewhere (aka the beginning :P) with lifting, and you'll progress pretty quickly especially if you…

I measure at the narrowest point, but I also track my measurement at the point right below my bellybutton because that's where I carry the most of my fat and I want to track if it's getting smaller. You can add custom measurement points to MFP! I also track my 'true hips' which is the widest part of my body over my butt,…

Please consider eating more. MFP sets almost everyone at 1200 calories per day which is often significantly too low. You're more likely to be hungry or deprived and binge eat later or to get frustrated and give up on losing weight altogether. I have been on mfp for years and I promise there's a better way to lose weight…

Amazing!!!! You look so great!
-
Aw thank you StephanieMM20! That's very sweet of you! Glad to have you as a new friend
-
If you'er losing weight then you'er probably not eating enough. Adding strength training on top of really long runs like that means you should be eating a LOT every day to maintain your weight, probably at least 2500 calories if not more. You won't be gaining muscle on that type of program, but it is very good for you to…
-
Yeah!! I like their stuff better than anything I've gotten at target anyways :)

Haha, no as many girls would agree it's much more reassuring to see a new brand of workout gear on a real person vs screen shots of the model on the clothing site. Hence why the title said "for women" haha. I have plenty of success threads showing off my butt, this isn't one of them. Just goes to show how good the clothes…

HAHA this was my friend and we matched on purpose and I promise it wasn't awkward :P

Yup! New pieces every month. The top two rows on the site are this months. The old styles are less likely to be in stock because its a month by month kind of thing. If any of the ones from this month are sold out already they will likely be back in stock next week.
-
Lol you can skip a month anytime you want, right now the easiest way is to call/email customer service or post on their Facebook page!
