For me, eating back my exercise calories was the ONLY way I lost weight. I am at 1200 before any exercise. I stalled out and felt horrible (low blood sugar) when I wasn't eating them back. Now if I have a huge exercise burn day (900-1000 cals) I will only eat back up to my goal weight maintenance calories for sedentary. I…

I am proud that I finally quit smoking and have been every single day since I quit. That was the start of doing things I did not think were attainable. Quitting smoking changed my life and made me realize you can do whatever you set your mind to. I was a 2 - 2 1/2 a pack a day smoker for 25 years. I will be smoke free for…

I decided in December that I wanted to do the things I have always said to myself " you can't do that". I never thought I could be a runner, but I am going to be a runner ;) I am training Couch to 5K, right now I am doing it passively but will start intense training very soon. My first 5K will be this September.

That's amazing! I agree to, when I get to my goal weight I just want to keep getting more fit. I want to be a runner for starters. I accepted your friend request and will enjoy the motivation and support!

This helped a lot for me. When he saw how much better my self esteem was, how better I felt about myself, he was all for helping any way he could. Showing him the upside, and not just the complaints inspired him!

I had gained all my weight when my husband and I moved in together. To be honest, he loves me fat/thin whatever. He just wants me to be happy. He did not realize how much it was all bothering me until we sat down and really talked. Till then he kind of thought my little comments about my weight and junk in the house were…

My husband and I sat down and talked through it. He needed to know how important it was to me, for me and for us to make our lives healthier. He used to guzzle a couple two liters of Mt.Dew a night. He does not gain weight as easily as I do and has a much more active day to day activity. After talking it all out "we" made…

Oh but I did not go by the American Cancer Society for maintenance goals for my desired weight. I went to a site via Jillian Michaels link, can't remember where :.(

I started here at 1200 cals a day. It seemed to be counter productive for me since I wanted a permanent solution not a quick fix to gain it all back. So I upped my cals to my desired goal weight. I am losing weight and inches, not hungry, eat desert daily and feel fantastic. Plus I am learning how to eat for life now at…

I take a rest day every Saturday or Sunday depending on plans for the weekend.

I increased my calories to be what my maintenance cals would be for my ideal body weight. which is 1500. I eat most of my cals back usually and I am losing weight and feel great. I decided to do this so I would be livingit not dieting. It's working for me and I feel strong and my tummy is full ;.) My diary is open. I warn…

Yum and bumping!

First let me tell you I started MFP with 1200 cals a day. I decided it was not realistic for me. I wanted a liveit not a diet. So I upped my cals to my desired weight caloric intake for my height/age/activity level. That brought me to 1500 cals. This in itself I thought was going to make me lose weight slower, but that was…

I can only speak from my own personal experiences. I am 5'3 and at 1200 cals plus exercise I was not losing weight, I was losing muscle and I was becoming tired and weak. I recently upped my cal intake to what my desired goal weight is. I thought I would lose slower but it would be a lifestyle change, not a diet. I hate…

I don't even eat 1200, I eat the average caloric intake for my ideal goal weight and current activity level. I am in no hurry to lose, just want it stay lost ;.)
-
I agree with this. I started at 1200, I was always hungry and not losing weight. I went to 1500 and my weight started falling off and I am no longer hungry. And now I don't have to worry about eating exercise calories or not. I usually do around 500-700 exercise cals a day, usually eat about half back. I feel so much…

I get sick if I eat to close to working out so I eat afterwards. I have never had an energy problem but I am sure ready to eat after lol.
