  • My job is one hour and 15 minutes driving one way so I wonder how long that will take to walk :noway:
  • This^^^ Except for "love working out" part. I am in the gym at 5am so I wont come up with excuses for why I'm not exercising. I have at least an hour (each way) commute and my biggest excuse was I was too tired to go after work hence gaining most of the weight back I'd lost!
  • Hello, You will find that there are a lot of people in your situation. I would suggest starting off with eating. Exercing is good but if your body can't tolerate that right now then eating at a deficiency will benefit you. Drink as much water as you can tolerate and you will start seeing and feeling a difference.…
  • I disagree. I have very painful cycles to the point I am passing out, vomiting, back cramps and anything else imaginable. I noticed since I have been working out the pain is not as severe but I still can't exercise the first 2-3 days because of all of that and a extremely heavy flow. I adjust my calories accordingly on the…
  • Sounds like you are not eating enough for all of the activity you are doing.
  • My choice is moderation. In the past I too have gone with the abstinence method and finally got tired of not having what I wanted so I would over induldge. One day turned in to everyday for a long period of time. (I preferred junk food over real food all of the time). Once I learned how to adjust my calories around the…

  • My main focus is to eat my daily calorie allotment. If I feel hungry I will dip into the execise calories. I do not eat them all back. at the most I will eat enough to "NET" 1200 calories for the day.
  • Hi Rebecca, Feel free to add me. We are here to support each other. Congratulations on getting off to a great start!:flowerforyou:
  • I know that I am not going to work out after work.. Tried convincing myself that I would and failed miserably at it.. I lay in the and debate about getting up in the morning then reality kicks in. This is a must for me so I just do it. I commited to four days in the gym, I lay my workout clothes out the night before and…
  • I agree with editor grrl. I have a samsung gear fit which has a pedometer and you can also set it when you exercise. I normally walk 15,000-20,000 steps a day and this would include my exercise. I do not log the pedometer calories burned. I only log the exercise (when I turn the exercise feature on). So I'd suggest not…
  • Been there and done that several times over. Glad you are back on the wagon and taking youre health seriously.
  • No advice other than I work out in the morning because I don't have extra energy to take myself t the gym after work. My commute is brutal. So I get the workout done early AM, walk on my breaks and lunch time and by 2:30pm I'm done... May you should consider mornings???
  • :flowerforyou: Hello. Let's do it!
  • I gain anywhere from 6-10lbs (this also depends on my sodium intake when I start). I know it feels horrible to see the gain but eventually it will even itself out as long as you stick to your calorie budget and keep exercising. It will pass.
  • I totally understand how you feel. I lost well over 100 hundred pounds and put back on 62lbs. It's very hard but we can't give up. For me this has to be a lifestyle, mind and heart change. You can do it.. We are all trying to get healthy together.
  • That is a great loss. We can motivate each other :)
  • I use the treadmill now. I tried doing it outside (which I enjoyed) but it was during my lunch time and it became difficult to do and make sure I showered and got back to work on time. I would put my earphones in and go for it. Now I work out at 4:30am and would not dare be outside at the time so I use the treadmill…
  • I at least drink the 8 glasses a day (weekends) but through the week I surpass that and really try to get to half my body weight in ounces.. (That is an awful lot of water) :grumble:
  • I sync my fitbit with MFP so I don't log walking/jogging since it automatically updates. If I did other exercise outside of walking/jogging I would log those since fitbit don't calculate those activites.
  • I have the fitbit and MFP linked. I also have negative calorie marked in my settings. This way there is not a double calorie count. I log my calories but I noticed that my calories adjust itself. For example I might log 400 calories on MFP but my fitbit may say 300 so the adjustment would be 100 calories. It will log the…

  • I believe last year I logged everything I ate even if I didnt know the exact calories I just took the highest calories listed in the MFP database and yes it felt obsessive. I am just going to log 3000 quick calories, eat in moderation and enjoy myself on Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
  • I turned down the donut and ate what I originally planned to eat for breakfast.
  • Hate Banana's but love Banana Pudding, Banana flavored Candy Banana Bread Banana Shakes Hate the smell of Maple but will eat Maple and Brown Sugar oatmeal. I normally eat it at work and walk the bowl to the lunch room so I don't have to smell it in my garbage near my desk.
  • LOL.. I love it!
  • I likey.. I am going to adopt this principal. Calories = Food Currency.
  • I did the original Atkins diet a bunch of years ago and yes all you could have in the induction phase was 20grams of carbs. At that time you had to purchase the book for additional information so I just continued doing the 20grams of carbs the entire time and lost a lot of weight. Needless to say that was short lived…
  • I just started again myself so I understand. You can do this especially because you've done it before:flowerforyou:
