  • I've been eating the following for protein and fat without many carbs: avocado bacon grilled chicken burgers with cheese and mayo (no bun, no fries) cooking with coconut oil or ghee (clarified butter) full fat sour cream full fat half & half in coffee or heavy whipping cream pepperoni Udo's oil MCT oil
  • Follow me! I'm not doing strict keto (I'm trying to get 20-50g of net carbs per day) but I too have had great success so far!

  • Thank you! <3 I know that weight loss is going to slow down... I have a lot of weight to lose. But I am just so encouraged to see that loss starting out. It lets me know I'm on the right track! Also a huge victory is I haven't had ANY stomach issues all week. I usually have digestive upset, nearly daily. Carbs just flew…
  • Thanks so much! <3
  • I agree! I feel so great, that the loss is a bonus! I was having stomach/digestion issues that have completely disappeared so I feel like my body is better absorbing nutrients now. <3
  • Get a flavored coffee (hazelnut, chocolate, whatever you want) and then just add a light half & half or unsweetened almond milk to it. That way you'll still get the flavor but not all the calories. You can also add monk fruit drops for a little sweetness without all the cals.
  • Off to a good start! I'm down 8.6 lbs so far just in A WEEK! Crazy! I've never had that kind of weight loss before. I am doing low carb, higher fat and protein and so far, so good. I've been completely full and satisfied, if not a little stuffed, and yet I still lost nearly 9 lbs. Wow... I am amazed and shocked. I know the…
  • Weighed myself again this morning, and I'm actually 9 lbs down (went from 199 to 190.0) in just a week! WHOA! Expected a little weight loss this week, but not this. Especially since I feel so full and satisfied... <3
  • I have an annual pass so I go 6+ times a year so I've pretty much tried all the goodies. :D So I am trying to have some self control this trip... Hopefully it goes well. I turned down deep fried donuts and brownies tonight! o:)
  • The Flying Biscuit has multiple locations in Atlanta and breakfast all day. But it's the south, so everything pretty much comes with a biscuit but I'm sure you could find something that suits your taste (I always do). I'd either call ahead or just ask the server when you get there about your concerns. Pretty much all…
  • Have more sodium! It'll help. People recommended the Nuun tablets to me (they dissolve in water and provide electrolytes).
  • Officially been at this a week tomorrow morning, and so far I'm 5 lbs down! :) I am SO encouraged by that weight loss and excited for this journey!
  • Sounds awesome! Going to try it for sure!
  • Lots of great food suggestions in this thread! I just started a high-fat, lower carb diet recently. Not keto because my carbs aren't low enough (yet) but making strides!

  • Interesting! I wanna pick some up and experiment with it.
  • Start incorporating sparkling water into your diet. Start by replacing 1 soda a day with a sparkling water, then 2, etc. You'll probably miss that fizziness from the soda so this will help!
  • That's really nice to have that support system! :) Enjoy seeing your son!
  • Tried my coffee this morning blended with ice and madagascar vanilla ghee (the only ingredients in the ghee are clarified butter and vanilla bean, no sweetener). The ghee provided a lovely creaminess to the coffee and tasted delicious! Just a hint of vanilla essence, nothing crazy. I am so glad I've found this lifestyle.
  • Day 5 check-in! Pre-logged my dinner and my carbs were at 52g net today which I expected because I had fruit with every meal today... But I'm still feeling great. This is only week 1 and my body is easing into this lower carb lifestyle well. My ratios were 58% fat, 24% carb, 18% protein.
  • Guess I need to add some HWC to my grocery list... Haha!
  • Today is day 5 doing a limited carb lifestyle. I am pretty much just having fruit for my carbs, but not any of the processed carbs. So far, I feel great doing it! My energy is up and my stomach which has been bloated for a few years is now shrinking! Yay!
  • Not like any ice cream is 'healthy' so it's a good treat but not something to eat daily, in my opinion. But great as a rare treat because to me it tastes great and I live the nutrition profile much more than Ben & Jerry's.
  • I tried it for the first time today. The peanut butter cup flavor. VERY impressed!
  • I had lost 40 lbs previously (slow and steady weight loss) and didn't get any loose skin, so I don't think one is destined to have it, since it didn't happen to me previously. Maybe that has to do with age and the elasticity of my skin? I don't know. However, I'm determined to not have it happen to me this time either.
  • Yes, so far it is working
  • Currently on day 4 of my journey and managed to keep carbs at 42g (31g net if you subtract the fiber). That is my lowest carb day so far. My ratios are 59% fat, 27% protein, and 14% carbs. Is this good?
  • Thanks for the support and your insight on the Omega-6's! What do you recommend for something I can supplement into smoothies for a shot of healthy fat instead of the Udo's oil? I want to get my nutrition as much as possible from proper meals, however in the morning I love making a smoothie because it's quick and easy to…
  • Thanks, that makes me feel good that I won't be judged here. :)
  • Good luck with your loss too! Let me know if you wanna be weightloss buddies on here and we can hold each other accountable! I've had friends who had a lot of success with Whole 30. I don't knock it. But it isn't for me. I've been around the block long enough when it comes to dieting that I know what works for me. I need…
  • All a matter of opinion...
