There's no "hopefully" about it ...as of 7:03 pm on June 17, 2011, we are all talking to a new non smoker... it's a done deal....

I just have to add to my already so long post above/ I -after the craves , and the crabbies, a little bit of munchies as well as some general readjustments with every day life... remember the first time I woke up and realized that I was a non smoker...I had such a feeling of pride and freedom...

Wow, I can't believe how much alike we are in our quits. I also ran out of cigarettes but I had such a busy night helping my son with homework I didn't make it to the store to buy them...I then ran late the next morning so again didn't stop to buy any...that night was a Friday so I decided (just because I seemed to be…

I have a 4 seater stroller with a bum wheel that makes the right side so hard to push...all 4 seats filled with 2 year olds I stiil count it as a brisk walk for however long we walked that day..I do pat myself on the back for having done it but only count the calories as if I was walking just myself...it is harder and I…

I am actually happy you asked here and got some pretty strong responses because you are young and learning and with the strong responses you DO see that the pills are NOT the way to go and now you will be more determined to do it the healthy way instead of a unhealthy so called, but never works, quick fix. Plus I know…

Curse CURSE CURSE that duck walk!!! I stopped doing them because I was going to blow my knees out if I did them anymore after day 4 and I don't have that problem with any other move so far. I did another squat move instead. I just started week 4 yesterday and it is much better..hang in there, you're almost there!

When I am cursing Jillian Micheals or Tony Horton as I climb up the basement stairs on my hands and knees because my legs are so weak from all the lunges, jacks, and squats and my knees are so wobbly from the treadmill after all the lunges, jacks, and squats that I cannot make it up the stairs like a normal human. (I work…

It took two weeks for my lungs to feel really great..no more shortness of breath and no more deep inhale cravings. When it’s hot and humid outside I used to really suffer from shortness of breath which made me inactive on hot days , now it doesn’t even bother me. You will feel angry...I am the happiest most patient person…

Hate the taste- not worth the hangover- not worth the money..if I go out, I splurge on a coke...but occasional I will have a bloody mary...(virgin) because I do love the taste.

I just began doing this on the treadmill this past week . I start off with a walking warm up 4mph for 2 minutes and then I run 2 minutes at 6mph, then back to 4mph for 2 minutes -the next burst I go up to 8mph and then back to 2 minutes at 4mph,- the next burst I crank up to 9mph though I can only do 9mph for a very short…

You sound the same as I felt yesterday but I have been watching calories, eating really healthy, and working out everyday for 6 weeks and have seen no lose, in scale weight or measurements. BUT what I can say...I feel great, I feel stronger, I have more energy, my skin looks better, my moods are better...I am getting…

5' 1 and 1/2 and would like to lose 10 but 15 would be ideal...haven't had a successful time of it so far...but I love the work outs they're are getting me back into shape and that's never a bad thing  I should add I am between 124 to 127..it changes with the day and sometimes the minute. I was 115 for 15 years up…

I did the cut straw..and when I puffed it I tapped my finger on the end of the straw to block the hole so it was opened and then closed as I inhaled through the other end..this made it slightly harder to suck the air through which made my lungs work more on the inhale and it mimicked the full lung feeling of a cigarette…

I wish I had a new backside with no more love handles to post...congratulations on the progress!

My profile picture is from the day my daycare children discovered I had a camera on my computer...I sat there snapping pictures of them while they made funny faces-there is a child on each side of me going crazy for the camera...I wish I could post the entire picture because it is REALLY funny (the faces they are making)…

It does get easier. I had to think(in times of stress) many many people deal with stress without lighting up, so why can't I? Well the answer is- I can! and I decided to. It did help to take myself away from the stress for a minute and deep breath as if I were actually going for a cigarette. I would then return after my…

I was in pain every day...sharp stabbing pains, also numbness in my fingers and toes. Muscle weakness. My hips hurt, my knees hurt. I had random crawly feelings on my skin. Sharp stabbing pains and more sharp stabbing pains...did I mention sharp stabbing pains? My Neurologist said I had a neurological condition similar to…

I have to say- from the viewpoint of a skinny 11 year old boy anyone who has a normal amount of flesh on their bones looks FAT to them. I have done childcare in my home for 20 years and I can tell you when the kids are naturally very skinny they think everyone is made that way so if you are not looking like them, then…

Thanks everyone for the replies and advice..I appreciate it.

I used to practice meditation but haven't in a long while. I really should give it a try for weight loss, I don't know if it will work but I do know it helps with stress and well being...It couldn't hurt to try and you would gain some peace and quiet time at the least.

Thriceshy- I was wondering if this is a combination of my body slowing down after the quit as well as developing and new exercising routine all at once. I think my body may be in a little bit of a shock...stop smoking after 20 years as well as kicking my activity up to fight a medical condition that I do not want and have…

I changed my diet setting to public. I really don't know except my jeans are actually tighter. I should mention that because of some medical issues I had been getting weak and out of shape...part of the reason I cut out cigarettes and processed foods(trying to get away from chemicals that may interfere with my neurological…
