Kudos on starting again, consistency is the key. You are doing a great thing for yourself, be proud and happy. Good job!

Watermelon. I don't understand how anybody can eat the stuff, it's disgusting.

I would like to look like Will Smith in "I am Legend" or like Gerard Butler in "300" - As you can see, I'm aiming low... :)

Losing inches is what you really want! Muscle is denser than fat. You'll look leaner, and you are building muscle. Keep up the good work!

I avoid sugars and refined grains, as those are empty carbs and calories, and actually, they increase my appetite. I eat fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains. I keep my calories under control as well. So you have to watch both, but make sure you eat enough complex carbs to sustain yourself.

I would like to be on the same shape as Will Smith was in "I am legend".

I bought mine because many machines at the gym can read your heart rate and adjust the resistance accordingly for cardio. From the user guide: Detach the connector from the strap when you are not using it to maximize the transmitter lifetime. Detach the transmitter connector from the strap and rinse the strap under running…

I tried Insanity, but I couldn't keep up, it was too hard for me. I went back to Power 90 (not P90X)

I'm 6'2" I was 280lbs at my heaviest, I'm 204lbs now. 190lbs would be nice, but I'more interested on getting my body fat down to 10%, and build some muscle, particularly on my chest, back, abdomen and arms. But more importantly, I'm definitively healthier. A couple of years ago, my doctor wanted to get me on pressure…

I'm at work, I guess I should be working... right?

Agreed, 100 calories give or take is not the end of the world. After dinner, I'll will end with 600-700 calories above my goal, but I still have to go to the gym, so some quality time on the elliptical will take care of the extra. But it is much easier for me not to eat any extra if I drink lots of water (or green tea)

Congratulations!

Great job drinking all the water! I'm also have problems with dry mouth on the mornings. I googled about it, and I haven't found anything conclusive, as dry mouth it can be related with other things. Also, how often you go, and what color your pee is, might help to determinate your hydration levels.

Keep up the good work!

Hello Alison, Congratulations on losing 17lbs, and hope you will get rid of the last 20 very soon.

Hi there, I got a Polar FT7, is the cheapest I found at Best Buy that had a chest strap with a user replaceable battery, and it works great with the Life Fitness equipment at my gym.

I try to eat more fiber and protein during the day, it keeps me fuller thru the whole day. And if I'm hungry at around bed time, I have a big cup of sleepy time tea (16oz) A piece of gum is another thing that helps me if I feel I have to chew something.

I have the same problem, this is what works for me: I avoid refined carbs (cereal, anything baked) and add fiber and protein (black beans, lentils, egg whites) and I try to drink more water. Hope this helps!

This is from the article I pointed. The article also mentions that this doesn't apply to everybody, only to beginner body builders, and people over certain percentage of body fat. The article also mentions that this is a slow process. I'm not sure if this works, since I haven't tried myself, but it seems like sound advice.…
