Thanks for the advice. He had found the research on working out hard over 40 being a problem and posed the question to me as a possibility as to why he's not losing. I cook pretty much all our meals and send his lunches and snacks with him during the day, so I think there's more to it than overeating. Back to more research…

I'm floating between 3 books right now. "The Things They Carried" is a good narrative on the Vietnam War (it is anti-war, depending on your feelings), the 4th book of the Outlander series (awesome if you like historical fiction/romance), and a history of the Celts (not light reading). It really depends on what you like.

I don't mind the rain if I can get my gear dried out. Last summer we got caught in a hailstorm while on the Appalachian Trail. If it wasn't dried out at the campfire that night, it never dried out.
