HIIT workouts over 40 yrs
I've heard that doing these workouts when over 40 can actually cause enough stress to raise cortisol levels in the body and cause more harm than good. Does anybody know if this is the case and how to offset it? I've done P90x and T25 with my husband. I had good results but he wasn't able to lose any weight. Any suggestions?

We are taking our Boy Scout troop on a hiking trip for the three day weekend next week. In the midst of drying veggies in my oven and making out shopping lists for myself, my husband, and my youngest son, I am curious to know what your favorite hiking recipies or foods are.

need advice from hardcore hikers
I have a 4 day backpacking trip coming up this fall with my boyscout troop. I usually dry my own vegetables in the oven, and used purchased jerkies and bagged chicken or tuna for the meats. My biggest question is how some of you package your food for extended trips like this. I usually put everything in freezer bags and…

hiking recipes
I am looking at my hiking recipes and found an oldie but goodie, grog cakes or oatmeal pancakes. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup powdered milk. This may be a stupid question, but, can I substitue protein powder for some of the milk and up the protein content of a trail breakfast that way? Does anyone have good suggestions for…

step counts
My school is doing a fitness challenge by keeping track of how many steps we take during the day. My problem is yesterday I hiked about 4 miles carrying about 30 lbs of gear. Does anybody know how many extra steps that would be worth if any? I have tried looking on the web, but no clear answers yet. Thanks.

counting miles
Because of a fitness challenge my school does, I know that I "walk" about 12 miles a day. We measure these in steps and convert to miles. Does anyone know how I can convert this information for the exercise log on this website?
