This is perfect! I was planning on starting the 30 day shred again tomorrow anyways. Thanks for creating this group. My name is Rebecca, btw.

Thanks for your quick response Sue! Do you happen to have any links or brands of the gear you posted?

Hey everyone! I just wanted to check back in since I haven't in awhile. I've been thinking about what I'm going to be doing during the off season and I really would love to continue to do a few outdoor runs as often as I can, I think I will find it difficult considering how early it gets dark already (in the Midwest).…

I've noticed my appetite for salads has lowered and I remembered back to what a nutritionist once told me about warming and cooling foods. Here's part of an article I found related to warming and cooling foods, I hope you find it useful. Warming and Cooling Characteristics of Common Foods Published on Jan 25, 2010 by Ping…

What's everyone doing for Halloween? I'm doing a group costume on Friday night; we're going to be the Heathers from the movie The Heathers. :-p And Saturday night I'm going to be Bunnicula. I've got my Heather costume completed and I picked up fabric for my Bunnicula costume which I have to start making tonight and finish…

You're not nuts!! It's just good planning in my opinion. I used to start my workouts at 4:30am so I could fit it in before work especially on days when I couldn't in the evening. If you're able to wake up that early, I say do it.

So I'm leaving town tonight to help out family tomorrow through Friday. I'll be away from the comforts of my food and my home so it may be difficult to complete challenges, but I will try my best. I realized today that since I'm a member of Anytime Fitness, I can use the gym back home so if I have time once I get in town…

this usually means your lacking something. try changing up your proteins, fiber, etc and drink more water (as was stated). eat more fruits and vegetables, they're filling and for little calories.

i agree about the flaxseed! and eat more fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of water. it's not hard to get fiber naturally.
-
eat fresh and a variety. they lose a lot of nutrients when cooked. spinach has a lot of iron, leafy greens and brussle sprouts have a lot of calcium. this is just stuff i know off the top of my head.

did it work?

Good job Team Thin It To Win It! And to Jessica!

I have an acorn squash that I'm saving for the fresh food/new vegetable challenge, but I haven't figured out how I'm going to prepare it yet. Does anyone have any suggestions? or a recipe?

I've always wanted to be Mary Poppins, but I always forget to get all the accessories and the dress for it. I'm probably just going to be a zombie or something this year because I have a bunch of fake blood and bruise makeup.

The workout that left me feeling it that day and the day after was the first day of the Insanity workout aka "the fit test" haha. At this point, I wasn't really exercising regularily so it was really tough.

whole wheat pita pocket sandwiches. you could stick anything in them, but i have hummus and veggies. and a side of fruit.
-
hope the side pain goes away! and you should check out runningmap.com to create a route near you.

this is great! now that i've realized i actually like cottage cheese. thanks! you can also substitute plain greek yogurt for sour cream.
-
To get extra greens in your day, make a fruit smoothie and add a handful of raw spinach. You can't even taste it!

I really want a running buddy and warmer weather! It's warmer in NJ than WI, right? haha. And just sign up for one! I was so hesitant about it at first. google 5k races in your area.
-
proudest moment on this journey so far is probably running my first 5k. the fact that i run on a regular basis is a major success for me.

I don't know if you live in a dorm or a house, but you could find a workout dvd that's only like 30 minutes and do that before classes or after. It's not necessary to spend hours in a gym, anything is better than nothing. I'm doing the 30 Day Shred and it's only 26-28 minutes with warm-up/stretching. I bought the dvd on…

I really want to get down to 170, I haven't seen that number in a couple years. I'd like to reach it by NYE so I can wear a dress I ordered for last NYE which turned out to be too small. Other things I want to work on are feeling comfortable in public, with friends, etc so that I have a good time. I pretty much killed my…

I'm doing the 30 day shred now and am on level 2 at the moment. I usually do it in the morning before work and then I run after work. I've heard it's best to do cardio along with the 30 day shred.
