I'm so sorry to hear about your back pain! I actually had a very similar experience as stevesilk had. After about a month spent taking pain killers and muscle relaxers, I was able to get an MRI. First, I had an X-ray and it showed narrowing discs in my L4-L5 and L5-S1. The MRI showed a bulged disc in my L4-L5. I worked…

Lemon juice is nice. Feta cheese. In the colder months, it's nice to add some warmth like topping lettuce with roasted vegetables. Or make themed salads like greek: feta, olives, hummus, cucumbers over lettuce. or mexican: black beans/beef, salsa, sour cream/plain greek yogurt over lettuce. And sometimes just some fresh…

add them into things. like spinach in an omelette. or make a stir fry of the vegetables (and meat) you do like and add in a leaf of kale. spices/seasoning can help too.

Wisconsin winters can be quite rough, sometimes we can get through most of December without any snow but the harsh, cold air can come sooner and can be hard on my lungs. I had asthma for a number of years and the cold air was always so difficult to breathe. For the winter, I have winter running apparel and sometimes add…

This is a fun topic! Thanks for asking the questions. I recently returned from living in Thailand where I made lots of Thai friends. I spent a lot of time with families and getting to know the culture and at first I thought it was really strange how there will be 3 (if not more) generations living in the same house…

Incredible! You look so happy and much younger. You must feel great having accomplished this on your own.

25 years old. 9lbs lost, 21 or so to go. i run and just started doing yoga. i'd also like to incorporate weights.
-
I ate those quite a lot in Thailand! I didn't even know they were imported here.
-
Fantastic progress! I'm amazed this is only 19 days into the 2 months. Are you following the meal plan too?
-
That's incredible progress! And so inspiring, thank you for sharing.

From Wisconsin, USA and living in Thailand. Struggling to maintain a healthy lifestyle. No kitchen and it seems most Thai people just go out to eat for every meal because it's cheap and easy. Just looking for more support and advice. For exercise, I do Jillian Michael's 6 Week 6 Pack and I'd love to get back into running…

Don't eat too late the night before your race. Don't eat anything new. Give yourself a couple of hours before the race to get things moving before you go to your race. Get to the race early enough to hit the port-o-potties before you start. If you happen to be in an area during your race where there are none in sight, I…

did you take any before pictures? i've lost 16 and wouldn't have noticed a difference if i hadn't taken before pictures. they help, just for yourself to see. (at this point, i have no intentions of sharing them)

If you're still a meat eater, I'd start by slowly reducing your consumption of animal products. Maybe work on eating meat 1-3x/week or if you're a big meat eater, try to limit to 1 time per day. And start consuming more vegetarian options before making the switch. Your body will probably adjust a lot easier if you go this…

I recently ate a chocolate truffle made from avocado. It was delicious.

I'm doing the Chicago Rock n Roll half marathon! My first half is this Saturday. I just googled a 12 week half marathon training schedule and like others have said, long run on the weekend and 2 easy runs during the week. I tried to incorporate tempo/speed runs but I didn't always but I know I'm ready. Have fun training!

This is what I want. I'm 23 and have never liked kids nor been interested in having kids. It's nice to know this!

I know how you feel. I was at my goal weight (150) about 4 years ago after having lost 40lbs. It's so much harder for me this time around. I know what to do to lose weight, I just can't keep myself focused long enough to actually do it. Any exercise is better than none at all. I read this today "no matter how slow you're…

Is this your profession? If it is, I'd just change your settings to Active and that'll factor in the level of activity you do in your normal daily routine.

make sure you only use the leafy parts though! and kale is very bitter so if you rub/massage it a bit it helps reduce the bitterness.
-
i just recently decided to sautee it with EVOO, a clove of garlic and seasoned with a bit of sea salt. so good! i've always only baked kale with a little EVOO and either sea salt or nutritional yeast and eat them like chips.

awesome!

This is what I was looking for. Thank you!

What's the benefit to running barefoot or with minimalist shoes? On a run last week, I saw a girl running barefoot on a paved path and thought it looked painful. I don't think I'll ever transition, but I'm curious to know what you think.
