  • I am with you on both points, I am not new but back. And, I have peripartum cardiomyopathy which has chf as a side effect. Water retention can be tricky, it is hard to tell if you really gained back weight or if you are just retaining extra fluid. I added sodium as one of the items that I track which has helped. Sodium…
  • I like to keep a bag of chocolate chips in the freezer. They take longer to melt when they are cold, and you can make 1/4 cup last a long time if you only grab 3 or 4 at a time since they are so small. I also like Cool Whip Free with PB2 chocolate mixed in and frozen.
  • Sodium does crazy things to weight. Salt/Sodium causes you to retain water, which of course adds weight. Have you ever had your rings feel a little tighter or looser than normal, or had really bad sock marks on your ankles? I have a heart condition and have to weigh myself daily, there are days when I am 4 or 5 pounds…

  • Another big break between runs. I need to find a way to get these more evenly spaced. But today I finished week 2.
  • I completed Week 2 day 1 last Thursday and day 2 last Friday, I still have to complete day 3. I think that this program is great because it builds you up in a way that you aren't even aware at how much stronger you are getting. My husband pushed me at the end of my last run and I ended up running 2 minutes and 10 seconds.…
  • It is hard, but you are not alone, please understand that many of us are in the same boat as you. I used to get discouraged thinking that I was the only one that couldn't do it. Now I don't get down on myself, even if I have a bad day (and there are many) I know that just being aware of that is a step in the right…
  • Well Done! It just goes to show that many of the victories we have will not be on the scale. Take note of the little things - I noticed the other day that I had ankle bones again!
  • I did W1D3 last Friday, and wasn't able to run again until tonight. Needless to say I was extremely nervous about how the long break would affect my progress. I am happy to say that I did so much better than I thought. Tonight was the first night that we weren't able to run on the track (our high school had the district…
  • I am so glad to find this post - I started on Monday, so I am right in line with most of the group. I am happy that the high school track is only a few blocks from home and that we can use it. My husband is my running partner at the track, and my little ones play on the football field while we do our work out. I do think…
  • I have to say that when I was reading these posts and everyone was saying "I love it", I was laughing and shaking my head. All that I could think of was what was running through my head tonight when I was starting my Week 1 Day 3 work out. I just kept hearing my inner voice say, "I really don't want to do this, I REALLY…
  • I have Peripartum Cardiomyopathy, which is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy. Although I have learned a lot about my condition since being diagnosed 2 years ago I realize that after reading the above posts that I don't know about all of the different types of cardiomyopathy. The peripartum variety means that during my…
  • Congratulations! What a fabulous achievement. You look wonderful.
  • I haven't ever been a real breakfast eater either, so I understand where you are coming from there. But breakfast does start your metabolism for the day so that you can burn more calories through the day. Therefore it does make sense that you are more hungry at lunch. Saying that, I have had the same issue, so here is how…
