30DS really helped me with the weight loss and muscle tone, it really did. I did it over about 2 months and still do the odd level now and again, interspersed with Jillian's other two DVDs (Banish Fat... which is a really tough cardio workout, and No more Trouble Zones which is more cardio with weights, and actually a bit…

As others have said, it might be worth upping your protein a bit and reducing the carbs. I find that if I try to cut carbs too much, I get incredibly tired and lethargic and am more likely to reach for the fatty food! Good luck.

Wow, you look absolutely fantastic - good job!

I guess it depends what you're doing on the treadmill! I've found that walking on the highest incline burns far more calories than jogging for the same period of time, although I find jogging really hard work sometimes. Likewise, I whack the elliptical up and find it burns even more than incline walking. Agree with you re…

That was my first thought as well - for the 200 calories you use at breakfast with the shake you could have a bowl of oatmeal with fruit and honey! Much more appetising and full of fibre etc. I also agree with the poster who said that these things take time. The numbers will work for you, just stick at it - good luck.

Wow - you look fantastic! Great job!

Hi there and welcome :-) Congratulations on your weight loss so far - that's amazing work. You'll definitely find plenty of support here.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm at the end of my weight loss journey, but I've stuck around as I love the community and the friends I've made over the past year or so. Good luck with your weight loss - I'd find it tough with all of that fantastic Lebanese food!

Hello and welcome to MFP! It's a great community; you'll be dropping those pounds in no time :-)

£60 on a big shop once a month for tins and water, meat, milk, bread etc. for the freezer, then £10 a week on fresh fruit and veg - so comes in at about £100 a month. I never run out of food, that's for sure!!

I take acidophilus, and a zinc/vitamin C combo to ward off colds. Have considered calcium supplements too as I never seem to get enough, but I think I'll end up rattling like a pharmacy if I take any more!

Great job, your story is so inspirational!

Wow - you look great, congratulations!

Hey there - congrats on your weight loss by the way :-) I found the same thing: I lost the first 20lbs in under 10 weeks; the second 20 took a lot, lot longer (about 15/16 weeks or so) I hit a couple of plateaux during the second half and had to change up my exercise and pay more attention to my food by upping protein and…

Yeah, dairy is really pretty great for calcium which is essential - I have milk with my cereal and tea, plus yoghurt if i feel like one, and it's not inhibited my weight loss one little bit.

Wow - what a transformation! Great work!

Cardio at the gym (1 hour) 2 or 3 times a week, Circuit training (usually one of the Jillian Michaels DVDs - 30DS or BFBM) 3 or 4 days for 25-45 mins, and Pilates (25 mins) 5 or 6 days a week. On average it's 45 mins per day over the week. I also walk pretty much everywhere but don't log that.

Wow - you look fantastic; congrats!

I feel your pain; 5'10 and 137 lbs but I too have a huge rib cage (!) and those child bearing hips! I don't want to lose any more weight but I've love to tone up and get rid of the stomach rolls, saddlebags and extra butt. It's tough, though, without losing any more weight. I also wanted to send big hugs to the ladies (and…

That's awesome - congratulations!

I agree re exercise calories - it's trial and error. I prefer not to eat them if I can help it (unless I'm really hungry), but I make up for it by having a cheat day every now and again. Good luck!
-
Oh you can definitely tell the difference - wow, you look fantastic, congrats!!
-
Hi Jo, please don't give up - you can do it, just look at all the fantastic success stories on here. As others have suggested it might be worth changing up your diet a bit, get rid of the bread and crisps (or just have them on occasion) and eat more fruit and veg, pulses and grains. Drink loads of water and find an…

Yep, go for the sleeveless one - why not? Plenty of time to cover up when winter gets here!

Wowzers - you look fantastic!

Yes, I'm a recent convert to Pilates; I do the 'Pilates Weight Loss Workout for Dummies' as I find the presenter very cheery and motivating. I'm thinking of getting a Stott DVD though, fancy a change.

Count me in - I'm at my GW but would love to try to maintain my good work and continue to tone up!

Hello and welcome - you CAN do it...there are plenty of lovely people on here who are starting out, on the journey or almost there. Good luck!

I use lbs so I can converse in the same language as my lovely North American friends, and since I grew up using lbs and ounces for cake making...might explain a lot that lol :-) Also since it's a smaller measurement than kg, it's more motivating as the weight comes off heh. I do occasionally switch my scale to stones just…
