Well in my situation, I think it's worth a shot to help me get out of this plateau I hit ages ago. It also doesn't help that I take medications that make you gain weight, which is really frustrating. Anyway, I'm willing to give it a go - can't do any harm. I'm still exercising a eating well too, as usual. If it ends up…

I'm in Australia and I finally found a lactose free greek yogurt the other day. So happy! Haven't been able to have healthy greek or natural yogurt for years! It's Black Swan no added sugar, lactose free. Perfect!

Yum! Might have to try that one!

If you're going to have oats for breakfast, go ahead and add fruit and nuts to it - that's great, but don't add butter and sugar to it! Butter and sugar are extra "empty" calories that will not promote fat loss or health in general. My favourite breakfast is greek/natural yogurt with fruit, nuts, and flax seeds; or oats…

"bad sugar" or "good sugar", it makes little difference once it its absorbed by your body - it's all just glucose, and all of it can be stored as fat or glycogen. Don't give up fruit - it's an essential part of a healthy diet! Perhaps have a look at the calorie difference between various fruits, and pick some that are…

Maybe you need to include more protein in your diet? Protein and also good fats will help you feel fuller for longer. Also if you use protein powders, look for one that's called "calcium caseinate" which is a "slow release" protein (as opposed to quickly metabolised protein like whey isolates).

I never skip breakfast, if I do I'm hungry all day long and can't get on top of it. Eating breakfast will boost your metabolism because you need to take your body out of its overnight fasting mode. You need to fuel the fire!!!

My personal trainer suggested fasting (but not every second day - that's a bit too extreme). He gave me the literature on it - by Ori Hofmekler. I have to say, being a nurse who is well educated, I thought the whole thing was a heap of crap, and he didn't know what he was on about. So I never tried it.

Fruit tisanes are a great idea - no caffeine, plenty of flavour. If you have only caffeinated drinks, you're going to get dehydrated because caffeine is a diuretic (makes you pee).

I know what it's like to have a restrictive diet - it really sucks. I have fructose and lactose intolerance, so I follow the low FODMAP diet - which is really annoying but it works. Anyway, make sure you stick to your recommended diet, because you don't want to end up in hospital with diverticulitis - it can burst and make…

How do you know if she's not eating well and exercising as well? Don't jump to conclusions, mate...

I've just started taking it (Cambogia Trim). The reason is I hit a plateau two years ago, and have gained some weight. So I'm taking Cambogia Trim as well as Neutrim at night. Too early to say if it's working yet, but the Neutrim has helped reduce the bloating, which is a big relief for someone who suffers from IBS. For me…

I'm 26 yrs old, 163cm, currently weigh ~80kg. I have an active job, and exercise 2-3 times per week. My goal is to lose about 1kg per week. My calorie allowance is 1470, but when I exercise it goes up depending on how many calories I burn.

My first job was meat packing at a supermarket butcher. So boring, nobody but the butcher to talk to.

I've done Bachelor of Nursing, and now studying for my Master of Nursing (Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing)

That particular trainer obviously didn't know what he was on about, but rest assured, not all trainers are ignorant like him. There are others that have had further education, and many more years of experience that definitely know what they are on about. I used to have a brilliant trainer that was really passionate about…

I used to follow a diet where I really cut back on how much bread and rice and cereal I was eating, and used whole grain pasta. I didn't cut it out completely, because carbohydrates are good fibre and the main energy source of your body. I focused on increasing my fruit and vegetable intake, ensuring that I ate every 3…

30% of your diet should be from healthy fats. So if you're getting fats from fish, nuts, olive oil, avocado etc, this is a good thing.

I always lose weight after that TOM. So I usually retain fluid leading up to that time.

Wow that is really awful. My fiance would never say that. I feel hugely self conscious of my weight gain, but he has been nothing but supportive of my efforts to lose weight, and always reassures me that I'm beautiful no matter what. I hope your fiance can pull his head in and not be so negative.

Wow - well done!!

Maybe you're eating too many fatty foods? People who have had a cholecystectomy cannot tolerate fatty meals because there is not enough bile being released anymore - instead you get a slow trickle, rather than a big burst when needed.

Hi, I'm a nurse, and I work in a surgical ward where I nurse people with gall stones and cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) all the time. You're likely to have another attack, especially if you don't pass all those stones. And even if you do pass the stones you will probably just get more again. Not only is it the pain…

I prefer a natural whey protein isolate, with no flavours or added sugar. Much better for you because you can add it to a fruit smoothie, which is more nutritious. That's what my personal trainer recommended, but the brand I use isn't available at the moment. Try searching for a natural whey protein, if you're interested.
