  • My experience with weight loss states that you have to choose 1 of 2 options: 1) never eat below your BMR. you readjust your BMR every time you weigh-in and your weight changes, but don't eat below it. your body needs those calories to survive. instead, use exercise daily (cardio + weights!) and stay active (take an extra…
  • Judging by your diary from the past 4 days, you're not eating the right foods and you're not eating them regularly. Some days you are eating on a regular schedule, but other days you're not. I saw yesterday where you only ate 1500 calories and then exercised 700+ calories... you're not eating enough calories for that day.…
  • The obese population in the US has soared to a humongous proportion... it's quite sad and really a terrible epidemic that needs remedied. On the other hand, being super skinny isn't healthy either. I look back on former icons, such as Marilyn Monroe, and she had a healthy body with curves in all the right places. My…

  • That's awesome! I sent a few requests out... I like reading posts by driven, motivated people... and a great sense of humor makes it even better :)
  • My husband refers to me as "the wife" occasionally... but he also calls me baby. Neither name bothers me because he isn't being sarcastic or mean, hes' being sweet. Those are his terms of endearment, I guess you could say. If he calls me Amy or "dear", I know I've done something that really got up into his undies!!!!

  • I eat plain Chobani and add a little splenda with fresh berries or frozen mango (let the mango thaw first). It's so yummy!
  • I have a good combination of clean eating and eating what I want. I do things in moderation. If I'm at a picnic (like last night), I eat what is offered, I just eat less of it and stay under my calorie goal. If anyone wants to check out my diary, send me a friend request. I have lost a lot of weight eating in moderation. I…
  • ^This! You can't change him (you can try talking to him to see if he's just plain lazy, but if that doesn't work then it's inbred probably).... so, you either accept that he wants someone to do everything for him and just do it, or you can dump his butt and move on to someone who doesn't need a second mom. My ex was…
  • So jealous! I work for the county, and I don't think they would allow that :( Major freakin bummer!!!!
  • First, HOLY CRAP congratulations on your AMAZING weight loss!!!! Second, while my husband supports me, he doesn't eat well and I fear he will end up on the same road as your husband did with the same end result. It absolutely breaks my heart into a million pieces to think of having to spend 1 day on this earth without him.…
  • If you eat at least your BMR, you will be fine. The BMR calculates the amount of calories you burn JUST LYING IN BED and doing nothing else. If you get up and take a shower, that burns calories.... if you walk to the kitchen, that burns calories. You need to calculate your TDEE and eat 20% less than that... but AT LEAST…

  • BUMP!!!! :)
  • I do the same. I didn't log last weekend because Sunday was my birthday.... enough said ;) it was too hard to keep track of everything. but.... i log all my days (free day or not), unless it's craziness like this past weekend! logging everything helps me to make sure i'm eating enough protein and other nutrients i need,…
  • I'm in. I'm tired of doing this by myself.
  • I drink coffee everyday... I use splenda and half and half. I don't worry about the 40 calories from the creamer... I'd rather have 40 calories from real cream and milk than 10 calories from powdered "hydrogenated oils". it's a trade off. i LOVE my coffee!!! and, drinking it hasn't stalled my weight loss. I do add an extra…
  • www.bodyforlife.com. trust me... it works!
  • Bump! Thanks for all the info... I have the same problem.
  • One more thing: checking his browser, his wallet, his phone, and going through his things is wrong... it violates his privacy and will make him distrust you. Besides, if you do these things, he will just find a better way to hide things. You must address the real issue at hand, not just try and "catch" him to get him to…
  • Here's the real thing: marriage is based on trust. Once trust is broken, it's very hard to rebuild it back up. Hiding things from your spouse is lying and even cheating, in a sense. If he feels that he must go to the basement to smoke and hide it from you, then there is something very wrong. There must be absolute trust in…
  • I make these all the time... they're easy and yummy! you don't need flour and they bake up nicely because of the egg. I sometimes add a teaspoon of flour to lessen the "sticky". Don't overbake them!
  • I have a road map that leads directly to my belly button.... I had an 11lb baby via cesarean, and my stretch marks are pretty icky. I hate them... but my husband swears he doesn't mind them. He calls them "battle scars" ;) That's a good man right there!
  • 3 weeks ago, I raised my calorie intake to meet my BMR... I was terrified because it was 1850 calories! I also had the 1200 in my head... but I was at a stall and hadn't lost a lb since SEPTEMBER!! In the past 3 weeks, I have watched my body change pretty dramatically. I exercise 6 days a week (same as before), alternating…
  • I've made plain oatmeal and added chocolate or vanilla protein powder to it (after it's cooked) with a little splenda. That's pretty yummy. Also, shakes work great. I have had a EAS 100% vanilla whey protein shake (low sugar/carbs) or the Morning Berry Atkins shake and then eat a piece of wheat toast or a piece of fruit so…
  • Here's what I eat when I NEED a cookie (or 2... or 4...) badly... I make homemade peanut butter cookies with this recipe: 1 cup of natural crunchy peanut butter 1 cup of splenda 1 egg Mix it all together and spoon onto a cookie sheet (should make 12 cookies) and bake at 350 for 8 minutes... do NOT overbake. They will need…
  • It's very hard for me to control my cravings during that TOM... there's one day during that I could literally eat everything in sight... it seems that I'm never full no matter how much I put in my mouth. I don't allow myself to do that anymore because it's very counterproductive. Instead, I just boost my calories up a…
