I have found over the years that most protein powders don't taste all that great. But if you use a blender like a bullet or something similar you can add a little frozen fruit or peanut butter or just about anything and it makes the texture so much better, almost like a milk shake, and you can come up with your own…

Tell them to mind their own plate!!! >:) ...in a polite way. o:)

If your friend doesn't learn proper nutrition and actually implement it the surgery won't matter because she will end up gaining it back eventually. The way you are doing will take longer obviously but when you reach your goal you will have a wealth of knowledge and the satisfaction of knowing that YOU did it. ...oh, and…

Not sure... I can't see hers. :* ...but I do not have better abs than the Mexican abs!!! :'(

Where do you walk your dog to for 7 or 8 hours? The next state?

Arditarose pretty much nailed it... Again, if you're trying to lose fat you will have to change your diet. No way around that without doing tons of cardio every day to put yourself in a calorie deficit. The only thing absolutely required to lose fat is a calorie deficit. No exercise needed at all. Of course you should…

...or you can sneak up on it and say BOO!!! That might surprise it too. :D Sorry. Couldn't resist.

First, there is no such thing as starvation mode and second, weight loss is not linear. Some weeks you will lose more some weeks you will lose less. Even if you change nothing you will have ups and downs. You need to focus on the long term trend. And 1 week is not a plateau.
-
If you are not losing you are simply not in a deficit. I know you said you count everything you eat but there is something off somewhere. Barring some kind of medical condition if you are truly in a deficit you will lose weight. You are either eating more than you think or burning less than you think, if you count exercise…

You should set your activity level to what you actually are. The activity tracker should not count your activity twice.
-
The only thing absolute required for weight loss to occur is a calorie deficit.

No self respecting trainer would rely on a body composition scale for body fat measurements. If she actually has a certification, that didn't take a weekend to get, she would know how to use a set of calipers. She would also know that short of death or being bed ridden for a very long period of time it is impossible to…

LOL! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day... I would seriously question her credentials as a trainer if she is pushing that garbage. And how is she so sure that you are losing muscle? What did she do to determine this?
-
They're called leg lifts, but if that's all you are doing you are not raising your heart rate enough for a long enough period of time for it to burn any extra calories. My question would be, is there a reason that is all you are doing? Doing an ab exercise will help to strengthen the core muscles but in a deficit you won't…

When you say they are "temperamental" what do you mean? I've never had a problem with any Garmin or Polar chest strap I've used. As far as comfort goes I think that is going to be more a personal thing from user to user. Personally I don't even know I'm wearing it but someone else might.
-
I think it's pretty accurate at calorie counts. Of course nothing is going to be 100% so I never eat back all of my exercise calories. The Garmin Connect app syncs automatically with MFP as well so I don't have to do anything extra to get exercise calories added here. And yes it does have a sleep tracker.

I have a Garmin Vivosmart and love it. I pair it with the heart rate strap during exercise and have never had a problem with it, I don't even know it's there most of the time. Any of the straps by Garmin or Polar etc. are very accurate. I've had a few wrist monitors and was very unhappy with all of them. They have gotten…
-
The only problem with the wrist based monitors are they are highly inaccurate once your heart rate raises during exercise. They are fine for normal daily activity tracking but once you start to exercise you will find most of them can't even read an elevated heart rate. I know you said no chest strap but for accuracy they…

Fitbits are not waterproof and I have heard, and experienced first hand, people having problems with them just from sweating. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only waterproof bands are the Garmin Vivofit and Vivosmart, and some of the Polar bands. The wrist based heart rate monitors are ok for…

^^^^ This is probably the best explanation so far.^^^^ As Versacam said. When you see a trainer in a gym human nature is to make a first impression off of their looks. It doesn't make it right or wrong that's just the way the brain works. When you first see them you don't know what their actual qualifications are but the…

Muscle can't be built from nothing. Yes you will get very limited "noob" gains, though probably not on 1200 calories, but they will be very short lived. As a female you might be able to turn your noob gains into maybe a pound of new muscle. On the other hand you can absolutely gain strength while in a deficit. The reason…

You can eat perfectly, if there is such a thing, and it doesn't matter, your weight will still fluctuate. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it. No matter what you do it's going to happen, especially after you eat or drink something, think about it, the food and drinks you put in your body weigh something so of…
-
If you lost 50 pounds already I would say you have it pretty much figured out, just keep doing what worked.
-
LOL! I don't know who "they" are but apparently "they" are confused. It doesn't matter what you eat, if you eat more than your body requires to maintain your current weight you will gain weight. Doesn't matter if it is all twinkies or lettuce. Eat what you want but track it and eat in a calorie deficit and you will lose…

So you did over two hours of exercise? You should be wiped out. Are you just starting? If so, yes, it's going to take a while for your body to become accustomed to that much activity. Last question. Why so much exercise in one day? Are you training for something? The reason I asked these questions is, if it's just for…

I used it before I got my Vivosmart. I liked it for keeping track of my runs but I didn't use it to calculate calories. It's a solid app but it made my Vivosmart do some crazy stuff when I tried to use it and the app together so now I just use the Garmin app. I'm not sure about how accurate it is at calorie burns because I…
-
Your best bet is going to be using a heart rate chest strap along with a fitness band. The wrist based heart rate monitors are good for general heart rate readings 23 hours a day but accuracy degrades considerably the hour you're working out and elevating your heart rate. I have a Garmin Vivosmart and link the heart rate…

Lol! That's kinda the point of this website...
