Step addiction...
So I had been wanting a fitness tracker for a while and had done a ton of research on which one would be best for me and my goals. I had settled on a Garmin Vivosmart and told my wife about it. She hinted that it would be a good birthday present, which isn't till the end of August, but I agreed with her. Apparently I…

Here we go again...
First of all, I hate posting pics!!! But I have found over the years it's a good way to keep yourself accountable and sometimes you notice things that you don't see when you look in the mirror everyday. So anyways... I joined MFP back in 2011 to keep track of my calories and lose a few pounds that had crept up on me after…

Web site building?
Looking to help a friend build a website and neither one of us have ever built one... Is there a free website builder out there? Doesn't even have to be free but it would be nice to play around with building one without having to pay for it.

Gym log apps
Not sure if this is the best place for this but oh well... For the past couple of years I have used an app on my phone called "Dumbbell". It used to be a simple gym log where you could enter your different routines and use it to track progress. Over the last year they have done some upgrades and updates and have screwed it…

Message out of the blue???
Just checking to see if anyone else got this same message out of the blue? I also added my response to the message. From: Toshiana123 Received: Thu 09/06/12 04:26 PM Subject: alternate diet The alternate diet doesn't seem healthy to me. When you skip meals and then eat...your body is storing the food you ate as fat because…

P90X or just stick with my lifting routine?
I have been back at lifting for about a year now and have lost a little over 30 pounds just from eating right and lifting. My question is to those that have used P90X. I am not really looking to lose any more weight (a little more fat on my belly) just looking to start bulking and "toning" up. Would anyone recommend…

1 Year, 34 pounds
Well it has been 1 year. Haven't logged any food or exercise in the last couple of months because I wanted to see if I could maintain my weight on my own without any help. And yes, it can be done. I really appreciate everyone's support. This site is awesome, but you have to be committed for it to work. You have to want it…

6 pack by 1 year mark!!!
I have met all my goals up to this point since starting in May 2011. So I decided to set a new goal for myself, may be a little lofty, but it will give me something to shoot for. LOL! I started out at 199lbs. on May 2, 2011. And this was Christmas eve, 171 lbs. And this is yesterday about to take a plunge in the springs at…

Inches Lost???????
Not really sure where this should go, oh well. So the other day my wife tells me our friend has lost 10 inches. After seeing this person I realized that she had to mean cumulative inches because I couldn't tell any diifference, at all. This brings me to my point, why do people feel the need to add up all their inches lost…

Getting there!
Well it's been about 6 months and 26 pounds. Still not where I want to be, but I am happy with the progress. Not really paying much attention to the scale these days, paying more attention to the mirror. My wife says she sees a huge difference, but I still see the fat left on my belly. LOL! Still searching for that…

Had to change HRM age yesterday! (pics)
Well yesterday was my birthday (36), so I had to change my age on my heart rate monitor, it was also the day I had set for my first goal of 180lbs. I actually hit 180 on Thursday, a couple of days before, so I think I am right on the right track. I don't really have a goal weight anymore, I just want to feel good, and…

To eat, or not to eat (exercise calories back)
I have noticed this question asked alot on the forums, and I thought I would add my two cents, for what it's worth. If you look at all the posts that have asked this question, there are people on both sides of the fence, and they won't budge from their belief whether to eat those calories back or not. My opinion is, and I…

Is it just me???...
... or does anyone else wish your body didn't need a break from working out? I used to take two off days during a week, now I have changed my workout schedule so I only take a break one day a week, on Sunday. But all day Sunday I can't wait for Monday morning so I can workout. I don't remember feeling this way 10 or 15…

10 lbs. down ??? to go
So I started trying to slim up on May 2, and I hope to be down to 180 by my birthday in late August. I started at 199 which is the heaviest I have ever been, and I stepped on the scale this morning hoping to be at about 190, but I made it to 188.6!!!!!!! :drinker: I have never really "dieted" before and I don't consider…

Just had one of those scratch your head moments
So I'm sitting at my desk, and notice the "Nutrition Facts" label on my Wrigley's Spearmint gum container, and I notice that there are 5 calories in 2 pieces of gum. Now my question is, do the calories only count if you swallow the gum??? Not that it really matters, but it kind of made me scratch my head. LOL!!!

Nausea while working out this morning
I normally always drink a protein shake first thing in the morning when I wake up on my workout days, one reason is because I can't eat anything that early. This morning I skipped it, had my morning coffee, sat around for a little while to wake up, then started my workout as usual. About half way through my workout, I…

First Post
Well I've been back at it for 6 weeks , wishing I would have never stopped working out when I got out of the Coast Guard back in '05. I've lost about 7lbs. in the past 6 weeks, and have about 12 more to lose, hoping to be close by my birthday in late August. Then gonna work on bulking back up. Never really had a problem…
