P90X or just stick with my lifting routine?

I have been back at lifting for about a year now and have lost a little over 30 pounds just from eating right and lifting. My question is to those that have used P90X. I am not really looking to lose any more weight (a little more fat on my belly) just looking to start bulking and "toning" up. Would anyone recommend purchasing P90X for this or would I be better off just sticking to my weight lifting routine. I've never really liked the idea of workout DVD's because most of them are crazy amounts of cardio or bodyweight exercises, not that I have anything against body weight exercises, I do some in my own routine, but I like lifting more. I guess I'm just a little skeptical of the "results" you see on the ads because I don't trust 90% of what you see on those things. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like P90X because there are exercises I never would have thought of on my own. It might be a nice shake up to your regular routine- and you could see even more results. I would say you have nothing to lose by trying something new. Especially when so many people have great results!

maybe just look at a different lifting routine. I am thinking about doing P.H.A.T when I get to bulking in the fall , right now I just do compound lifts with some bro stuff in there if I have time. I have done P90X and it is a lot of cardio and body weight, in my opinion I think bulking would be hard doing P90X.

Starting Strength, Practical Programming, Stronglifts 5x5. All good places to start.

Assuming you've done some kind of linear progression already and milked all the novice gains, check out Wendler 5/3/1. There's also Westside Barbell method and the Texas Method but I only know those by name.

I think it is great. When you think how much a gym membership is and or paying for a personal trainer the 130$ or 140$ for the program is worth it. I have done a few rounds and as soon as I am done the Insanity program I am getting P90X2.

my health ins. picks up most of the cost. I think my gym dues are around $2 a month.

DVDs =/= a plethora of equipment. P90X can be great for those who like it, but comparing it to a gym membership is apples and oranges.
