Fur on the outside; boogers on the inside. No thanks.

"Started some pro-gest cream and Menoquil multivitamin...I can report back that after using both for about a month and a half, I have shiny hair and nice nails, and had one relatively violence free (or thoughts of violence free) PM period. Not sure about anything on the weight front, as I had a bad flue and did nothing for…

No smacking here. I really appreciate both of your input. They are good points. I just wish I knew how to determine which, if any, is my problem. WHMS is one of my faves, too, obviously. We have good taste in movies.

Gulp. From all the responses here, I'm starting to think I may need to do that. I was so wary of overestimating my activity level to be able to eat more that maybe I underestimated instead. It seems so unlikely that increasing my calories could result in smaller me, but hmm...

Thank you for the laugh. I really needed that. Joking aside, there are some great points for me to ponder in the post above and I will definitely look into the suggestions. I have figured out my numbers six ways to Friday, but I still wonder if maybe my BF% is off, or if I really chose the correct activity level. There are…

Great ideas. I'll try anything at this point. I'm nervous about increasing my calories because I feel like I will be forcing myself to eat when I'm not hungry and my brain says that must be wrong. At the same time, I really do want to give my body what it needs to the job. Now I have a headache. Edited to clarify:…

I don't have a HRM. I'm just going by what I keep seeing over and over; 1 mile = approx. 100 calories. But I'm not using those numbers to figure out how much I should be eating. I'm going by BMR, BF%, TDEE, etc. TDEE is Total Daily Energy Expenditure = Basal Metabolic Rate (the calories required to keep your organs…

I think so, although I haven't been officially "diagnosed." PMS is becoming "Everybody run for your lives!" at our house. :D

Measuring cups for liquids and scales for other stuff.

Using Katch-McArdle my BMR is 1332. That puts my TDEE at: Lightly active: 1929 Moderately active: 2175 Other than my workouts, I am pretty dang sedentary, I have to admit, which is why I think "Lightly active" is accurate. Using the numbers above with a 20% reduction, I should be consuming an average of 1543/day. I keep it…

Thanks so much for your great ideas. I really appreciate it. I actually do most of those already. I do still eat Greek yogurt. The weird thing is that I don't even feel like this is a plateau because that would imply prior progress. I never even got started!

I'm just eating 1,400 to 1,600 per day. I'm not eating anything above that for exercise. The things I do don't really burn that much anyway; 150-225 at the most. MFP says I should net 1200, but I think that's too low - it's below my BMR based on every calculator I've used.

OK, now imagine this woman is your own mother. Argh!!! There ought to be a law against people complaining about their weight to others who weigh more. Seriously. Punishable by force feeding of 10,000 calories of crappy junk food.
-
This made me just want to hug you. As a mom, it is so mentally draining to walk with your kids through the scary world of mental illness. To do it while still taking care of yourself is heroic. Hang in there and please accept many virtual hugs from me.

Oh my gosh. I would have been fuming. First of all, how rude to even say that out loud! Second of all, it's your body so it's none of their business. Third, and the one that would have sent me over the edge, they called you a liar! I guess it's a hot button thing for me, but I get absolutely furious when I can tell someone…

Yikes. I can't believe I'm doing this.
-
Good luck! I"m sure you'll rock it! Have fun and let us know how it went. P.S. Where on earth did you get to see the TARDIS in person? And is it really bigger on the inside?

Ditto. And CONGRATS on completing W5D3! We did it "together." Woot!

Go slow. I mean slow. I mean slow enough that you wonder whether your jogging speed is actually slower than your walking speed (and it might be, and that's ok). Just focus and doing the time, not on going fast. You can do it and it will start to feel better faster than you will believe possible. In case you haven't already…

Oh my gosh - I usually do ok during strength training, but when I go for a jog, watch out. I hate when I pass other people on the street. They probably wonder why I'm jogging so funny; it's because I'm trying to hold it in until they're out of earshot! This is not always successful. :D

I DID IT!!! 20 minutes. 1.69 miles. 11:50/mile pace. I did it. I did it. I did it!!! I'm so happy and proud of myself. For the first time in my life I feel like I might actually be able to jog on a regular basis. I've been a swimmer for a long time, and people have asked me many times if I do triathlons and I…

Great video. So encouraging and inspiring to see real people making amazing changes. Thank you!

Thanks! I took the advice to slow it down for W5D1 today, and I felt great. I honestly wasn't sure if my running pace was any faster than my walking pace until I checked the log (it was), but I felt like I could have gone much longer. I'm mentally ready to face D2 and even D3. I'll let you know. . .

I'm terrified, too. I start W5 tomorrow and I can't imagine making that big of a leap. But, thanks to this community, I keep seeing so many people who felt the same way I do, but they made it. I'm so encouraged I can't even believe it. I was practically in tears on Friday when I looked at what next week had in store, but I…

I am starting W5 tomorrow and I'm terrified. I returned from W4D3 on Friday almost in tears, even though I completed it, because I was so discouraged about my ability to make it through next week. I just found this group and discussion board and I'm thrilled to find so many people who had/have the same fears I do, but are…

Swimming is great for cardio. You will build endurance, lung capacity and get your blood pumping, without putting any stress on your joints. I love it.
-
Aw, that's great! Kids definitely will tell you the truth. And just think of what a great role model you are for him. Your hard work will continue to pay dividends in his life for years to come. What more could a parent want? Congratulations.
-
Hahaha! Mine is more like a bundt cake.

If it's not too late to join, I'm in. I only started yesterday, but I have two days under my belt now. SW 151.4 Waist 34 Hips 41 I also swim pretty intensely 3-4 days a week, so I'm not sure I'll have the energy to complete 30DS on those days, but I'm going to try. Tomorrow is a swimming day.

I work with a trainer once a week and he always has me end my sessions with cardio intervals. So I'd say weights first, then cardio.
