How has everyone been doing with their runs? Hope you all are having a great new year so far!

I just finished W9D2 today. I'm looking forward to "graduating"! :) Hope you are all doing well!

Wow... exceptional! Good for you. I can't wait to read your post when you're done. I just finished w7d3. I'm struggling with the consecutive minutes though, so I may be at the point where I need to repeat weeks.

Thanks! Yea, I had to repeat a bit during week 4 I think. Maybe try to slow down a bit if that would help?

I'm excited too! If the money situation is good enough after bills, I may treat myself to some new celebratory running shoes! :)

I am starting W5 tomorrow and I'm terrified. I returned from W4D3 on Friday almost in tears, even though I completed it, because I was so discouraged about my ability to make it through next week.

I just found this group and discussion board and I'm thrilled to find so many people who had/have the same fears I do, but are pushing through and doing it! I'm so impressed with and encouraged by all of you who have conquered W5. I think I'm actually ready to at least attempt it and do what I can without beating myself up if I can't quite do it on the first try.

THANK YOU and CONGRATS to all the W5D3 conquerors out there!

Thanks! I took the advice to slow it down for W5D1 today, and I felt great. I honestly wasn't sure if my running pace was any faster than my walking pace until I checked the log (it was), but I felt like I could have gone much longer. I'm mentally ready to face D2 and even D3. I'll let you know. . .

Great!! I would say just to do what feels comfortable for you. I know at one point my run was not much faster than my walk either but I think the timing and pace will eventually happen!

W5D3 Done too! Congratulations! I've been doing it on the treadmill inside due to really cold and snowy weather. Got the incline at 1.5 to simulate running outside. I was really pooped at the end but very proud of myself for finishing this week's 20 minute final run. Curious about reading how fast people are running though. I'm on maintenance after losing 40 pounds with MFP and Fitbit, 125 lbs and 61 years old. I am jogging on the treadmill at 4.8mph. Am I just old and slow? Does age or weight make a difference on how fast a person runs on the treadmill?

I'm 40 and 207 and did 4.7 on the treadmill for W7D1. I go slower in my neighborhood on the hills. I figure I have the rest of my life to get fast.

I'm inspired by both of you!!! I'm W8D2, earlier today in fact, and jogged at 4.5. I'm 199 (just got here), 40 (b-day yesterday) and 5'3". There are so many factors, including age, height, weight, health, and so on and so on. I would say, and have to remind myself, let's be grateful and proud of ourselves for being out there. This is monumental, for us... speed... maybe later, maybe never. It's all good:)

WOW OMG congrats on Onederland and W8!!!!!!!! I look forward to hearing your graduation announcement next week! What a great birthday present - Onederland!!! Happy birthday!

I'm 38 years, 5'4" and weigh 220 so I've got a ways to go. Finishing this program has given me so much more self confidence than I have had in YEARS!

    I DID IT!!!

20 minutes. 1.69 miles. 11:50/mile pace. I did it. I did it. I did it!!! I'm so happy and proud of myself. For the first time in my life I feel like I might actually be able to jog on a regular basis.

I've been a swimmer for a long time, and people have asked me many times if I do triathlons and I always say that "swimming is my only trick." Well, I'm starting to think I might be able to add jogging to my bag of tricks.

Thank you all so much for showing me I could do it. Yay!

Well since I started this thread, I thought I'd come and let you guys know that I'm running my first official 5K this morning! I'm starting to get really nervous! Just to see if I could, I did run a 5K on Monday and I did it in 52 minutes. I'm hoping for a bit better time today if I can. I took it moderately easy the rest of the week and only ran 2 miles on Wed.

Anyway, you guys have been such a tremendous support to me and I just want to say THANK YOU ALL!!!! You guys rock!

    Wish me luck this morning!

P.S. Where on earth did you get to see the TARDIS in person? And is it really bigger on the inside?

Thanks guys! I finished! Came in dead last though but there was only about 20 runners. I finished in 52 minutes and the run was 3.22 so it was a tiny bit more than the usual 3.1. The important thing is that I did it!

BabyFishMouth - hehe, this was significantly smaller on the inside than I imagined! It was at New Orleans Comic-Con. :)

Congratulations! I am so very happy for you! I am also really impressed with your thinking. May I be that clear in my goals and that kind to my spirit during my first 5k!!! April 21st! You're awesome!
