  • I'll definitely cut down on the fast food. I eat out way too often. Water intake, I don't think I can up anymore else I'd be in the bathroom every 5 seconds (instead of every 10). I was raising Las Vegas, so I tend to drink 4-6 32 oz bottles of water a day. ;) From what everyone has said, cutting out fast food and upping…
  • I've heard that under eating your calories tends to be bad as well (although there's conflicting information on that too). My dinner tends to be ~800 calories on average. Assuming I don't snack, and I eat a salad for lunch and dinner, based on the MFP for 3 cups of lettuce, a cup of spinach, 2 tbsp of fat free kraft ranch…
  • I didn't say I don't think. I'm 35, 6'4", 281 pounds.
  • So, I was wondering about that... a few people have said that, but at the same time, looking at the article that someone posted further up, it says that it really doesn't matter what you're eating as long as you're staying under your calories/fat intake. Which I in general am.. My biggest frustration with losing weight so…
  • That makes sense. So far I haven't been lifting at all, I've just been running and climbing stairs. I've been doing the couch to 5k plan so my distance and amount I'm running vs. walking is definitely going up...
  • So I'm following that link... I know that currently I have a body fat percentage of 26.6%. I'm 281 lbs and 6'4" and I want to lose weight. Putting that into the BMR calculator gets me a chart saying that light activity, I burn 3,499 calories per day. I don't eat anywhere close to 3,499 calories per day, nor have I ever...…
  • I log pretty carefully. In this case, they had an option for 3 pieces of candy, but not 5 which I had. So I put in 1.6 servings of 3 pieces of candy. If I wanted to be really specific I'd have put in 1.6666(repeating of course). I'm using a Fitbit One to estimate calories burned throughout the day. Thanks for the other…
  • Thanks, I'll try that. I'm going to try adding strength training where I can on the non-cardio days and I'll try eating back half of the exercise ones and see how well that works. But still, my original question is how to figure out an exercise plan. I.e. I know you should not do the same muscle group every day in a row…
  • My current calorie goal is 2200 per day. That was what MFP suggested for me when I first started. On soccer days especially, MFP tells me to eat another 800-1200 calories because of all the running around I do to burn. I assume the 2200 per day that MFP suggests includes the 1 pound per week loss I have as my goal in my…
  • So I'm answering almost all the posts in this one post... ;) Okay. I'm getting roughly 100g a day so Ill definitely bump up my protein. I -think- I have my diary open now. If not can you tell me how to mark it as open? Also, 275 is not my goal weight, its my FIRST goal. My final goal is closer to 240. I'm definitely eating…
  • It definitely does, and answered my next question, which was basically whether or not it mattered what I ate on long exercise days. I don't do long endurance runs or anything (yet) but eventually thats my goal. I'm signing up for a 5k in November (my first one ever ) and I'm doing the couch to 5k to get ready, so I'm…
  • Thanks! I usually do whole grain on the bread, and I love peanut butter. Not a fan of avocado unfortunately. I love almonds and plenty of other mixed nuts, as well as pasta so adding these shouldn't be too hard. Any to stay away from in particular?
  • Eh. Ignore her. She's likely going home after grabbing her typical meal of mcdonalds and wondering why she's gaining weight. Don't let little people sway you from doing the right thing. :)
  • This is super important. I'm just starting week 5 and I'm definitely having trouble, but I force myself through it and feel amazing when I finish. Not amazingly good, but good about myself. Once I started stretching afterwards as well as before hand, it made a HUGE difference.
  • My first suggestion is to stop stressing. I'm a big guy and I have been for a while... I just started eating better again, and have lost 8 pounds in the 3 weeks since I've started. Since I've started, I've eaten ice cream, cake, cobbler, etc. The trick is to NOT stress about it, but just eat less when you have something…
  • Yes... I went to In-N-Out yesterday and I felt like I was going to puke afterwards. :/
