Well.........I maintained between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I actually lost two pounds early on, but then stalled out and just sat at 134. But I am ready to get back to it, now. Yes, you can do that! Read about it, experiment and see what you like best....have FUN with it! Fresh veggies in just a couple of days is a great idea. I need to go get some sprouting seeds! I finished what I had before moving and then never thought to replenish!! Thanks for the reminder!

You only need to rinse and drain twice a day, and it takes a few days to sprout them. I've never done quinoa but I've sprouted many things - think 3 days, for most.

What kind of seeds are you sprouting? Alfalfa? Mung beans? Broccoli??

Not quite two weeks, but we'll get a decent break. We take just 2 days for Thanksgiving, 10-12 days for Christmas, and spring break is whenever we get a week of beautiful weather. We'll grab a snow day when there is a really nice, snowy wintry day that the public schools do NOT get off (we work through their snow breaks)…

I was skinny until about 38-39, when I went on an antidepressant that depressingly made me gain 40 pounds. I went off the med but not the weight, so I joined MFP at almost 48 and am losing it. I guess being over 40 means I can no longer just be thin, I have to make it happen. Sure wish I'd thought of THAT about 8 years…

I know what you mean! We have college students above us - 10 of them in a 3 bedroom apt. They must sleep in shifts and stomp when they are not in bed. Argh!

I totally agree with sandislim on the allergy issue! I make my own cleaning supplies and laundry & hand/face soaps now, and it has made a world of difference in reducing the triggers!

I'm sorry. I have asthma and refused to start any med that was a steroid. Went round and round with the doctor, but I've seen the side effects and just said NO. I don't have great advice for you on how to go about weaning off it, but try to find a doctor willing to help, and ask for a prescription for respiratory therapy.…
