Maybe you need to make it simpler this year, and just do a loaf of bread with a healthy fruit spread. Fruit doesn't need added sugar to be delicious, since it's so sweet to start with. Or make granola and turn it into bars with honey, peanut butter and egg.

My laundry isn't an issue, but my room is also my least favorite to clean. I share a room with my 7-7ear-old daughter. Toys...everywhere. Even when it's clean, it is cluttered. I can't wait to be able to afford a place big enough to have separate bedrooms! Toys in a kid's room doesn't bother me, but toys in MY bedroom can…

I'm just trying to keep up with mine!!! She loves to go outside, walk to the park, go rollerblading (I walk, I gave up blading), biking, hiking.....we do hula hoop competitions fairly often, too. But I don't have to do anything to keep her active.

Time to myself was MUCH easier to get when I was homeschooling three children than it is now that I have only one. During breaks, kids like to play - and I am the only one to fit that playmate role. I have to wait until she is asleep at night to be alone. I'm rather introverted, too, and need time to recharge every day.

We're pretty classical with math and reading - I would never skip a phonics lesson and math facts are drilled and timed until they are memorized perfectly - but otherwise much more laid back.

This is the 2nd hardest time for me, with homeschooling. The hardest time is in March. By then we're sick of winter and still have 2-3 months of it to go. I remember times when my older kids were little that I saw that school bus go by and was tempted to jump out in the road and say either stop and take my kids or run over…

We now live in WI. We were here for years, then transplanted to OK for a year - decided the kiddo's kindgergarden year was a field trip LOL - and just got back to WI in Sept. I miss the warmer temps of OK but this is home.

Thank you for inviting me, Dawn! I am Sharon. I'm 5'2" and 48 years old. Joining MFP in May has been my first weight loss experience, but I am not at all new to homeschooling. I homeschooled my three children from K-12. They are now 28, 25 and 24. Four and a half years ago I adopted a 2.5 year old as a now-single mom, and…

BUT......that hour of walking was *not* a waste!!!!!!!!!! Yes, there is good stuff in this article. But NO exercise is a waste of time or effort. Even if you eat back the calories, using muscles and joints is good for you. Strengthening bones is good for you, and walking is very good for our bones. Burning those calories…

Adoption is a wonderful gift. I have 3 adopted siblings, two adopted at 10 and one adopted before a year old. The one adopted as a baby was actually the one who went through the "resent the adoptive family" phase, but when he learned we had NO qualms about him contacting his birth family and establishing relationships,…

Turkey, turkey broth, whatever veggies I have on hand, whatever herbs look tasty....simmer awhile and it's low-fat, low-carb, low-cal, nutrient dense soup! I've never used a recipe, just whatever looks good or is available at the moment. It's never boring this way lol.

Your body knows what it needs. Listen to it. (But tell it no to the excessive WANTS lol!)

If you are only going over by 100, you will still lose. That is still eating fewer calories than you need to maintain your weight, so going over just a bit once in awhile is no big deal. You just don't want to cheat by not logging what you eat. The information you get from logging is worth a ton to your weight loss power!…

I'll add you! It is SO easy using this site and working with so many other great people! I'm glad you have joined us!

Thank you!!!!! Looks like a perfect gift to make for my 25 year old daughter for Christmas!

Get her busy! I had one like that when I did daycare. I held him for awhile when he first got to my house, then said what work I had to do and handed him a second "tool" - dust cloth, whisk broom if I was sweeping, let him push the laundry basket to the laundry room and "help" me carry it to the living room sofa to fold…

Funny.....I'm going to miss checking in here in the morning!

10 or 20 squats every time I go to the bathroom. Depends on if someone is knocking and wanting in - I have a 7 year old who needs to potty EVERY time she sees that door close!

My blood pressure is always right at 90/60. That is not an unhealthy low. When I was your age it was 90/40 and that was low enough that I occasionally got dizzy when I stood up. The doctor's solution was for me to stand up slowly. That worked. I'm sure yours is just lower than what they are used to seeing, especially…

When you go to the doctor, tell him about any environmental changes. Have you put a Christmas tree up recently? Or have one at work? Have you cleaned the carpets? Allergies can do that, but the doctor can only help narrow it down if he/she has all the info.

I use half a can of tuna in water with some lemon pepper on my salad.

Hydrotherapy makes sense! That is cool - I'm glad you are trying it and feel like you're getting results. The coconut oil should be just fine. Light strokes towards the heart are perfect. Sounds like you are doing great!

It sounds like one or both hips are out of alignment. I'd go see a chiropractor.
-
YES! Me too! lol

Way to go!!

It makes sense to me. I have never understood the "ice ice ice" mantra. Your body naturally sends extra blood flow to an area that is injured, which brings in oxygen and nutrients needed for healing. Why do they want us to fight our body's natural response? I understand icing can reduce swelling......but that swelling is…

Thank you for the great challenge! It really helped me keep on track when my internal motivation was starting to wane!

Weighed in still at 135. Thank goodness LOL. I am 400 cals under net for the week and somehow didn't go over yesterday, which was what I was saving up for. I made an apple pie last night and had one piece - think I'll eat some more tonight! Yum!!! My fail for the last two days has been water. I've been drinking diet soda.

What does HEM stand for? I am finding sites that want to sell it or make me watch a video. What is the method?

Sweat is just water weight coming off, not fat. I work out in lightweight clothes and stay as comfortable as I can. I have never been much for sweating and have never tried to induce it. Calories are a measure of energy consumed or expended. Sweat is just sweat. You may be burning fewer calories due to being more fit and…
