YUM! Mushrooms are wonderful tasting, nutritious, and low calorie. I 2nd the idea of walking to the store to get some mushrooms! The only substitute I can think of is chocolate, but that doesn't fit the similarity requirements in ANY way.

I'm another one who has been there. See if your county has domestic abuse counselors/helps and do what they say to protect yourself and your kids. Don't make contact, and only accept contact in written or recorded form (email, text, voice mail - what you will have proof of later). Protect yourself, and protect your kids.…

I was getting my kids to work on their assignments, (homeschooling) and my brother called and said, "Put the math books away, Sis, and turn on the news." I turned on the tv and called the kids in, and asked my brother what I was seeing. He said a plane had hit the WTC and they think it's an accident but it couldn't be. It…

Beans and peas. They are cheap, full of fiber, great for protein, and I hate them.
-
To me, they taste like dirt.
-
Funny! I hate it when I do that.

I'm sure the fact that I always add sugar to my cinnamon kind of derails the possibilities.

I've never lived with an SO.

I could eat my weight in tomatoes every week, all summer long! But yes - I am used to them and other fresh veggies. Definitely work your way up - don't stop because of one unfortunate overdose.

Little Britches and Little Britches Grows Up. I read those with my son at that age and we both loved it. They are OLD books, so you may have to check e-bay, 2nd hand book stores, etc. We got them in the library but that was 10-12 years ago and they were old then. Some libraries do still keep the old books, but ours throws…

I slice it, slice a few tomatoes, and put a tomato slice on top of each zucchini slice. Sprinkle with a bit of basil and oregano, add turkey pepperoni or canadian bacon & pineapple chunks, a tiny bit of grated mozzerella or parmesan cheese, and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Call the kids and serve mini…

I love this! Very true! I've lived mostly in the midwest, but have spent some time in the south, both living in the south and visiting relatives MANY summers. The culture is definitely different, and there are pros and cons to each culture. Nice people are everywhere, jerks are everywhere. But I was impressed with the…

I'm barefoot. It's up to you!

Yes! The cat AND the kid have both been stepped on during the same workout! The kid learned.....the cat doesn't intend to ever learn. I'm trying to train the kid to keep the cat off my back, out of my face, away from my moving feet and not chasing my hair.
-
I have a cat, so under - for minimum rollage. Cats have WAY too much fun, otherwise. So do toddlers, but mine finally outgrew that stage. Toilet lid down, but not everyone in the house remembers. Like the kid.... Squish from the bottom.

It's okay to say, "No, Mom." No explanation required. But honestly, if you are allowing her to dictate your daughter's life, you are allowing her to abuse your daughter just as she abused (and obviously still abuses) you. What is this teaching your child? She is seeing two types of people - the abuser and the abused. She…

The only beans that are edible are green beans. Peas and beans of any other variety are disgusting. Other than that I'm a southern girl and a fiber lover........but those knock me off both claims to fame lol.

Thank you so much! These are in the new group!
-
I set up the new group and sent invites. PLEASE message me if you didn't get an invite. I don't think I missed anybody, but I can't find my reading glasses and am slightly worried that I didn't copy all the names absolutely correctly. Dorie, I hope your power is restored quickly! Whenever you get the spreadsheet up, just…

Thank you, Dorie!

To add a link, just right click and copy the link. I open it and copy right from the browsers address line. Then come to the thread, hit reply and then paste the link into the box and add the name of the exercise.

I'm in. ;) Whoever says they are in on this thread, I will invite to the new one. I'll set that up tomorrow. It's 2:30 am now and I have church in the "morning" so I'd better scoot off to bed right now and deal with that later! I agree with the 8-10 cups of water. I generally have no trouble getting 12 because I've always…

Should we start on Monday? For how many weeks? To Labor Day, maybe? Can somebody else set up the spread sheet? I will start a thread for an exercise list we can all throw ideas onto. Links with examples so that we know how to do each one would be very helpful. I did send an invite to Tonilizzy88 but have not heard back…

Great thoughts so far! I also like the points, so it looks like we'll keep that! Exercise suggestions with the note that these are helpful suggestions rather than all that will count should be helpful to all. I had a request from Tonyzilla to be allowed to join us. It's fine with me - does anybody know how to allow someone…

Congratulations, Missy and pundas, on your weight and inch losses!

I think we may as well start our new challenge NEXT Sunday, the 8th. I think this week will pretty much be a wash. We can use these few days to brainstorm and then set it up. So throw all your ideas out here whenever you get a chance!
-
I have everything recorded on the spread sheet. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Let's check in in the next few days with who wants to do another challenge, and figure out how to set it up.

Honestly, our healthcare system is all about meds, surgery and money. Doctors and nurses have studied what they can do to interfere with nature. It's easy for that to translate into a belief that whatever goes wrong can be fixed by meds and surgery - and that ONLY meds and surgery can provide health. The healthiest elderly…

Wow, you have really whittled your waist! Great job!
