I use unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk mainly because I don't like to have too much dairy in my diet. I do eat cheeses and creams but regular milk is so easy to substitute and the fact that unsweetened almond milk has way less calories, fat and sugar is just an added bonus. For peanut butter I only eat…

I weighed myself yesterday and had put on 2.6 pounds but when I weighed myself today 1.4 of that had already come off so woohoo!! Hopefully I'll be back to where I was pre-Christmas in the next few days

Beer!! Also fried food.

Men have hormonal cycles as well....just sayin'. I'm sure it is diet related in your case if you're noticing a direct correlation between eating more and sleeping better.
-
Interesting. I had insomnia on and off for about a month after I began to eat better, exercise and lose weight. It seemed to be the worst at certain points in my cycle, so I attributed it to hormonal shifts. Give it time and you will see it start to ease up I'm sure.

You can add me! I eat, and I don't understand people who can function with crazy low net cals...I don't even really understand how people function on 1200 cals! I try to net around 1500 and will usually eat anywhere between 1700 - 1900 per day depending on my exercise.

I'm the opposite - I wish I could work out in the morning! I can't seem to get myself fueled and hydrated enough for morning workouts and they always leave me feeling like $#!%. I prefer to work out right after work.

ack! reading the phrase "empty boob sack" is making me terrified of ever becoming pregnant and breast feeding. i have nice perky B's and i want them to stay that way forever!! how do i have the best of both worlds?

I personally don't like being tethered to my phone 24/7. It annoys me, and it annoys me that everyone else has them practically surgically fused to the palms of their hands. Give it a rest! There are other things going on around you! I do like having a cell phone, but will often just leave it at home when I am going places…

I weigh myself every morning, but I don't get upset or discouraged by the little gains and fluctuations. I mostly do it for interest...I like to see the patterns in my weight loss and notice the patterns in the fluctuations depending on where I am in my cycle and stuff. I'm kind of a nerd like that

Hmm, no....sometimes I get a little peeved that I wasted 5 years of my twenties with an a-hole; however, I am trying to embrace the "we learn from every relationship" philosophy and regret nothing.

I completely agree with you, and I eat a plant based diet myself, but what the poster you quoted said about soy and estrogen is true (though, I don't know that it slows down metabolism). When I first started out as vegetarian, for years I ate primarily processed soy products (tofu, soy milk, "fake meat" substitutes, etc),…

Great job so far!! I can definitely see a difference! Whenever I get discouraged, I find it helpful to break it down into chunks, so rather than thinking "I still have 100lbs to lose" which can be daunting, you can create 5 mini 20lb goals for yourself. Feel free to add me if you like. I'm very active with my MFP friends…
-
Wow, you look great!! Big congrats for hitting the 100lb milestone!

I'm not sure of my measurements, but I do know that I can never buy cute boots  Stupid calves don't fit in them.

That's awesome, congratulations!!

Feel free to add me fellow veggies! I was a vegetarian for 5 years. For the past year I had been eating small amounts of meat until very recently when I decided to return to a vegetarian diet. I should say pescatarian actually since I do eat fish occasionally, and take fish oil daily.

Raspberries, pure maple syrup, almonds and pumpkin seeds.

Fantastic! You look incredible! Good for you!

I never weigh myself after I've put even one morsel of food in my mouth - always as soon as I wake up and then I go about my day. If you weighed yourself after lunch (even if you didn't eat 2lbs of food at lunch), you've also drank a bunch of water, eaten breakfast, etc. so you're not going to get an accurate reading of…

Most fruits have a "no sugar count" option that has been added to the database...I use those when adding fruit to my diary because I am not going to worry about fruit sugar intake. That way I have a better idea how much sugar I'm consuming from foods like chocolate, bread, milk, etc. That said, I don't worry about it too…

You look absolutely gorgeous! Great job!!

Surprisingly, no argument has started in this thread! It's all been positive which is just lovely

My mom is the worst with this. But with her it doesn't stop with "It's Christmas". "It's Sunday morning", "It's Friday", "We're at a restaurant", "You're on vacation', etc., etc. are all reasons to "treat yourself" aka "go way overboard". It really annoys me!

Yes, yes and yes!! I don't eat "diet foods" while fantasizing about gorging myself on McDonalds. I eat healthy, whole foods that I love to eat. It is rare that I crave junk food like burgers and fries, and over the top sweet pastries. I do like to splurge on some dark chocolate, wine, beer and cheese. I also love to work…
