  • This. I eat it a few times a week maybe. I'd eat more but it costs too much. Even when I was mostly vegetarian I had a weakness for bacon.
  • I eat out for breakfast more than dinner just because it's easier and cheaper. I get a veggie omelette, Wolfgangs is one of my faves. It's hard eating out since I eat Primal. For our date night tonight we are just staying in and make Creswick Farms Grassfed steaks on the grill, it's better than any restaurant.
  • I live in Walker, right by a bike trail that starts on Remembrance and goes, well I guess I don't know how far it goes, I usually just go 2-3 miles and turn around and come back. It has some killer hills once you get south of Lake Mich Dr though. Or I just run on the paths behind the Walker Ice & Fitness Center. I'll have…
  • I just completed Couch to 5K and am running my first 5K tomorrow.
  • Hi, Not sure if this group is still active, but maybe we can get it going. I am in Walker, running my first 5K tomorrow. I'm a mom of 2, ages 6 and 8. Half way through my weight loss and so glad.
  • Depends on the fruit and how your body handles it. I tend to eat fruit as a dessert and stick to berries or organic apples. Fruit in general is grown to be much larger and sweeter now than it was naturally. Locally grown, in season fruit is best. Some fruits have much more sugar than others. MFP does come with a very low…
  • Amazing! Thanks for sharing your story.
  • If I eat them all back I stall out, but I use them as a buffer if I happen to go over. If you don't eat them and are starving, eat some back. Just play around with it a bit until you see what works.
  • That's me too! Same thing. I found out in April of this year. I started following a Paleo diet and I feel better than I have in years. It's really not hard, and when you are tempted to have something with gluten in it just think of that stupid itchy rash, it's not worth it to get that again. That's how I feel anyway. Yes,…

  • Anyone can add me as well. Mom to an 8 yr old and 6 yr old. Trying to tone up these C-Sectioned lower abs.
  • Honestly you need to talk to your dad and step mom. Any parents/guardians, who allow a child to eat 10 cookies and ice cream on a daily basis and can see that the child is obviously obese are the ones who need a wake up call. Are your parents obese? It's usually not the kids fault they are fat, I blame it on the parents…
  • Awesome! Congrats!

  • Because the last few pictures I saw of myself made me realize how big I had gotten. Fitting into all my old skinny clothes is cheaper than buying a new fat clothes wardrobe. To feel better and be more active To avoid heath problems as I approach the big 4-0 To set a good example for my kids
  • Find a few recipes that are healthy that you love and make them often. Get the junk out of the house. If you find you binge on something, only eat it outside the house, like don't buy ice cream. If you want some, you have to drive to an ice cream shop and then just get a small cone. My husband overeats pizza, so he no…
  • I'm a closet Kid Rock fan too. I also love me some Neil Diamond and am going to see him in concert next month. :blushing:
  • That's a great time! I am running my first this Saturday, I am just hoping to come in under 36 mins.
  • I'm kinda scared to post now, but I will. I tried the HCG diet for 3 weeks. I actually did a modified version of it eating more than 500 calories. Once I finished the 3 weeks I figured the HCG probably didn't do anything and it was just the low cal diet, but I was so scared of "starvation mode" I used the drops since that…
  • From what I have heard, olive oil cold = good, for cooking at high temps = not good. Good in salad dressing, but if I am cooking something that needs oil I use butter or coconut oil. You should eat some kind of healthy fats though.
  • Beef jerky, apple and almond butter, and/or a big salad.
  • I have been stuck around the same weight for about 3 weeks. It's so frustrating. But, clothes that didn't fit me a month ago now fit. Maybe take some body measurements and go by those more than the scale. I just keep following my plan and exercising and hope my body ends up where it's supposed to be sooner or later. If…
  • If you eat paleo and feel better, than eat that way. If you eat vegan and feel better than eat that way. If you follow the food pyramid and feel great than stick with it. I don't know why people get all uppity about different diets. I gave up grains to try to clear up a rash I had on my legs for almost 2 years. Six weeks…

  • Yes, I stall or gain for a few days, but then it evens back out again. Annoying.
  • I had some dark chocolate and that seems to have helped. I just can't do the cake thing because I no longer eat wheat/grains. And that is something I just don't feel I can't cheat on, for health reasons. And I did eat a clump of frosting from the edge of the pan, frosting was always my favorite part anyway.
  • Yes, I switched to a paleo lifestyle April 1. I have lost 20 lbs since then. I feel great, eczema has cleared up. I have no regrets. I miss eating bread sometimes, but then I think of the horrible rash i had on my leg for 2 years and the IBS cramps, and it's just not worth it. Even if you don't have any health problems…

  • I do and love it. I don't eat any grains or legumes. I don't exclude carbs per se. I eat any type of fresh fruits and veggies (except corn). I try to stay under 100 carbs per day. I would recommend the book The Primal Blueprint. It's not a weight loss plan, so you can follow the plan to maintain or even gain muscle weight.

  • I feel more self conscious at the gym than I do outside. I really don't care what anyone thinks of me outside for some reason. The gym I used to go to was mostly older people, so I didn't care as much, but the new gym I am at is a lot of younger people/college people. I am finally getting to the point in my life though…
  • I felt like I was trapped in another body. You look down and feel like, how is this my body, how did it get like this. I saw pictures other people took and was shocked by how I looked. I was just in denial I had let myself go that much.
  • Part embarrassed, part feeling weird having my face up on a public forum I am new to. I'll change the pic when I have been around longer and feel more comfortable. I am looking forward to having my before and after pic up once I get to the after though.
