  • I'm from Sterling, IL, but recently moved to Michigan.
  • That sounds awesome, I just had to look up the recipe for it. I know what I'm making this weekend.

  • Mines 27% but I look a lot better than that pic. I would like to be closer to 20%. My extra weight is in my legs, I suppose that makes a big difference in how you look at different percentages.

  • I would adjust it. If I go up for a day or two I don't log it, but if it is a longer term pattern, I would log the new weight and start again. Leaving it saying the wrong weight may not give you the motivation you need to get back on track.
  • I love macadamia nuts. Almonds are good too, they gotta be flavored though, dark chocolate mint.
  • Yes, for me the answer was to stop eating wheat. Donuts, cakes, cookies, yes they contain sugar, but they also contain the wheat/sugar combo. When I stopped eating anything with wheat, the cravings went away. I still eat the occasional ice cream, but without the wheat I don't get the out of control cravings. On the rare…
  • I never found them filling at all. For the calories, I'd rather eat something else.
  • I would say macadamia nuts, but they definitely aren't under $5. I'll go with organic strawberries.
  • I don't enjoy it. I do feel a sense of accomplishment when I beat my fastest time, etc. I enjoy walking/speed walking, but if I only have 30-45 mins to get some cardio in, I run. I don't think I'll ever really enjoy it, but I would rather be outside doing something than inside on some machine. I hate treadmills and don't…
  • I eat Paleo/Primal. Love it and it's working for me. I never go hungry, that's for sure.
  • Try to find some local, uncured bacon. Around here anyway, the local grassfed beef/natural meat places have all different flavors of bacon, beef bacon, they just told me they were coming out with a bacon burger meat (bacon mixed with their ground beef). I offered to be a tester. Mmm, bacon.

  • A new tattoo. I know what I want, but I am not sure where to get it. I think it would look great on the ribcage, but not sure I can stand the pain.
  • I'm going camping in a few weeks at Lowden State Park in Oregon, IL. I live in Michigan now and there are tons of beautiful areas to camp here, although it's been too damn hot this summer for tent camping with kids. Hopefully the weather cools off when we head back to IL.
  • I don't think I've ever spent more than $20 on a bottle. I usually buy local Michigan wines or Barefoot.
  • How many do I want - 0, how many do I have - 2. Just kidding, I love my girls, but am not having any more!
  • Yes, all those. I sell handmade soap and lotion at farmers markets, craft fairs, etc. I have lotion testers, which are your typical lotion pumps. People will unscrew the lid and stick their fingers/noses in the bottle of lotion. That drives me nuts! Why not just spit in the damn bottle people. I have a pump for a reason,…
  • Hi! I used to drink mostly Pinot Grigio or Reisling, but since I'm trying to be healthier I have switched to red wines. My faves are Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. But honestly, I'll drink about any wine. I live in Michigan and there are tons of great wineries here. I'd love to go to Napa Valley sometime too. I have…
  • About 10 yrs ago I went from 170 lbs to 135 lbs (I'm 5'7") and someone asked me how much weight I had lost. I told them 35 lbs and they were like " That's all? It looks like you lost a lot more than that." I guess it was meant as a compliment, but I always thought that was an odd thing to say. I suppose they just thought I…
  • No one has said a word to me about my weight loss. Then again, no one said anything over the 2 years that I gained 25 lbs either. So maybe it's a good thing.
  • Yep, love my wine. I have switched to drinking dryer red wines and stay away from the sweet wines. Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon are my faves. I only drink it once or twice a week though and I log the calories and either eat less or exercise more on those days. I can't do boxed wine though, I lose track of how much I…
  • Thanks for the link, that's what I have been looking for. I just did Zumba tonight at the Y for the first time in about 3 years. I looked like an idiot because I didn't know any of the moves. I probably didn't do very high intensity because I wasn't sure what I was doing most of the time. I love it, but I am debating if I…

  • I hate Walmart because is represents everything that is wrong with America - a bunch of cheap, made in China crap, employees not paid a living wage, therefore they are very unhelpful. Other shoppers who also hate it there, so are rude and generally look miserable too, most of them overweight. But we have to go there…
  • Yes, I do sometimes. I feel so guilty in the dream, but then when I wake up I am glad I got to eat the good stuff and it didn't really count.
  • Just try to stay away from anything deep fried or from a box. Fresh fruits, veggies (bagged salads or steamfresh veggies if you aren't sure how to cook them. Some kind of protein - chicken breast, white fish, tuna, salmon, lean beef. Get a George Forman grill - makes cooking any kind of meat easy. Fish cooks fine in the…
  • You can both add me. Although I am about to go to Disney for a week, so who knows what my diary will look like, but I will be logging everything.
  • I don't disagree with you, but were you ever fat? For some reason that makes a difference in how you come off. A guy who has never had a weight problem and is just putting fat people down, or a guy who has been through it and learned this stuff.
  • Yes, I just did this. I just used the free Paint.net
  • Awesome, I am almost there. I can't wait to say good bye to 170 forever too!
  • I wouldn't do it. MFP is better and free.
  • I set my goal to be totally attainable. Once I get there I will set a new goal, either by weight, body fat %, or some sort of fitness goal.
