Awesome! I have the same problem, usually. Way to go!

You can modify anything, so I say go for it but be aware of your limitations. Start out slow and take it from there. I'm no doctor, but you might find that as the muscles supporting your knees get stronger, so does your ability to do those types of movements. But there are plenty of things that are non impact or upper…

At about 10 lbs over my 'healthy' zone, I was a 12ish (5'8, 175). I'm currently around 160 and I'm on the tight side of 8. Hoping 5-10 more will get me to an always comfortable 8.

AMAZING!! My goal on my last 5k two weeks ago was to run the entire thing, which I DID! But it was SUPER hilly, so my time was 39. I have another one coming up on Tday, but I think that'll be more relaxed and social since I'm running with a friend who isn't really a runner. And I did a Spartan race on Saturday, so I'm…

I've done classic and am doing lean right now. I find lean to be MUCH easier, but I was looking for something a little more easygoing this time around. They are more alike than they are different, though, so I think it's really just preference if you want more cardio (lean) or more strength (classic). If I'm not mistaken,…

If you're serious about wanting to know your calories burned number, get a heart rate monitor. One of my favorite purchases EVER. I rarely wonder how to log an activity anymore. And MFP is not all that accurate. :)

I actually get super bummed in the summertime, which a therapist once told me was kind of strange. I'm much happier when it's cold and gloomy. That being said, living in Los Angeles, cold and gloomy isn't probably all that cold and gloomy, in the grand scheme of things. But when I get seasonally bummed, exercise definitely…

I'm on day 6 of Lean (did a round of classic last year). I'd love a place to check in :)

Plyo. No question. It's longer and there's no Yoga section (love yoga, but it doesn't burn lots of calories). Have you done both? Think about it--isn't the Plyo section of Cardio X the toughest part?

I've seen it elsewhere online, never in a live conversation!

I love this idea! I've done a lot of racing for charities, mostly for AIDS. Make-a-Wish Foundation is such a great cause!
-
Amazing! I've been run/walking for awhile, but last weekend was the first 5k I raced where I ran the whole way too! And there were hills! It's a super feeling. Congrats!

I think people usually drop a ton of weight but then gain it all right back as soon as real food begins again.
-
The only way to know, I think, is to be off it for awhile and see if you notice a change. I noticed a MIRACULOUS change in my IBS and mental clarity. As far as foods--I stay away from substitutes, they usually taste like gravel, and the few good ones are prohibitively expensive. I try to stick to things that don't come in…
-
And look forward to feeling a lot better! I couldn't believe the new mental clarity I had after just one week of giving it up. I hadn't even realized I was foggy before. And my IBS is pretty much gone! So enjoy your new health!

It gets easier. I tend to avoid things in a package, because there's usually gluten there. And the gluten free ones tend to taste like gravel  Fortunately, though, there's a TON more awareness about it now than there used to be, so it's a lot easier these days. And I just made the best pie crust I've ever tasted…

I'm all mushy reading these! I've been with my boyfriend for a little over 6 years, and we've known each other for 17. Lived together for 5. I have no shame and have been displaying my ringless left hand in front of his face at every opportunity. I've ascertained that he has paid for the ring but has yet to pick it up, so…

I just had two, but the other one is a total dud, personality-wise. He just sits on his perch and stares blankly, and flies across the cage if a hand approaches. Or if you look at him. His name is Dr. Seuss because he's yellow and green and blue, but he does NOT live up to his name (whine). The one that died was a little…

Nobody?

Love that. I agree--I'm all about staying positive, but sometimes you just need to WHINE. Here's mine for the day: My favorite parakeet died on Sunday for no apparent reason, and my home feels empty without him. This caused me to go on a pizza binge last night, even though I am SUPER sensitive to gluten (definition of…

Maybe because there are more of us in the media, so it's not such a social jinx to be a redheaded woman anymore? I heard a "Stuff You Should Know" podcast a long time ago about redheads--apparently studies show we are more fiery in the sack (fact as opposed to myth), and that bottle redheads are as well (since they choose…

My IBS got WAY better when I gave up gluten. Much less bloating and almost never constipated now. Of course this isn't the answer for everybody--not everybody is sensitive to gluten and I'm sure there are TONS of causes for IBS, but it sure did wonders for me. Something to try if you feel like you're out of options.
-
That's pretty interesting, although gotta say I got a little nauseous reading his menu!

Not the best but certainly better than a big mac. Some of them work well over a big bowl of lettuce to make a sort of salad, that makes it take longer to eat and more filling.

The support on this site from other real people is instant, which is not something that other support systems like weight watchers provide. And I love that this site is not just about weight loss, but other health things too--if you want to find a support group to do a fitness challenge together, for example, it's usually…

While it's not technically an eating disorder, being overweight is usually because of disordered eating (ie an emotional relationship with food, rather than a normal relationship with food). I'd say since you've lost 65 already, you're doing something right! So don't fret about it!
-
Hilarious! Now I'm sure I'll be disappointed every time I roll over my sore muscles!
-
This may not apply, but in regards to bloating being a possible cause of a big belly--could be gluten. I'm fairly sensitive to it, and when I eat it I look like I'm pregnant. I call it wheat belly  Of course, not everyone has that sensitivity, fortunately! But if you've exhausted other options (drinking water,…

When you up your fiber drastically, it can cause a hurting tummy, and a lot of healthy foods are higher in fiber than processed crap. If you can tough it out, give it a few more days and see if you settle down! Drinking a ton of water will help too.

Thanks folks! As a funny joke today, I tried on some size-smaller jeans. BUT THEY FIT. I bought them. NSV #2.
