Anyone doing Piyo?
I love Chalene. My Piyo arrived today. Gonna start Monday. Anyone else? We can be an accountability group. This type of checking in helped immensely when I did P90X awhile back. Let me know!

How long do you need to see if "consistency" is working?
How long do you guys give it when you're trying a new tactic? I've just started experimenting with IIFYM (don't worry, I'm not eating crap all the time, I'm just paying more attention to macros), and playing with my TDEE--so I'm eating the same calories every day regardless of workouts, because the workouts are already…

The number is meaningless (NSV!)
Today, my boss' mother, who I haven't seen in about a year, probably, asked me if I'd lost weight and told me I looked great. This is a very prickly woman, so I was impressed she said something at all! I graciously said, yes, a little, thank you for noticing. HERE'S MY SECRET: I have lost zero weight since she saw me last.…

Paleo worse evils?
I'm a paleo girl, but we all know it's pretty hard to be strict 100% of the time. I've got a few questions on which choice would be the lesser of two evils: 1) Cream or soy? I so far have not found a cafe that serves coffee with coconut milk, and many serve almond but it's too thin for my liking. So which is the healthier…

I'm on TV!!
Hey MFP friends and strangers! I was the subject of an episode of House Hunters Renovations (a new spin off of House Hunters that includes a new bedroom for me!!). It aired last week, but it is re-airing tonight at 7 EST on HGTV if any of you are interested in watching a fellow MFPer! edit: here's the episode…

NSV on TV!
My fiance and I were the subject of an episode of House Hunters Renovations, and it aired last Sunday. While I do wish I had thought to wear spanx in a few of the shots, by and large I thought I looked PRETTY DARN GOOD! This is huge! Or NOT huge, to be more precise  If anyone wants to check it out, it is re-airing…

Rest day after HIIT?
I only did a 15min HIIT workout today, and it was recommended to take a rest day tomorrow. But... I don't wanna. Think I'll regret it if I plow through a workout tomorrow too? Probably something longer but a bit less intense. edit: When I say HIIT, I do mean HIGH INTENSITY. I was working at a 10, for sure.

Looking for more MFP friends!
Longtime user of this site, even longer user of the app, and many of my amazing friends on here have moved on or check in less frequently. Just hoping to find a few more wonderful people to share the food and fitness triumphs and tragedies. Stats: I'm 29 (in a few weeks), 5'8", heaviest weight was 178, I now hover…

Turbofire newbie here!
Hey folks--I started Turbofire yesterday (I'm no stranger to Beachbody, though, I am completely smitten with one Mr. Tony Horton and everything he's done for me!). Just curious--I loved the first class (Fire 30), but I really didn't like the Stretch 10 that accompanied it (just didn't feel like I was hitting the parts I…

Doc says no sweat--help!
I had LASIK this weekend (hurray! I can see!), but now I'm not allowed to get sweat in my eyes for 4 weeks. And I tend to sweat a lot when I work out. This was not something I was aware of before the procedure (I thought it'd be 1-2). Any ideas? I love my new vision but I don't want to gain a million pounds for it!

Bad time travel NSV
I'm in a show right now set in the 1940's (see profile pic), and I wear a long, glamorous sleeveless evening gown in it. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't looking period enough, even though the hair, makeup, gown, and undergarments were all accurate. Then I realized: my arms are too toned! Which was not in fashion back…

Mini pumpkin cheesecake help?
I have a unique problem--need to make a Thanksgiving dessert that is egg, nut, and wheat free to accommodate some allergies in my family. I think I've decided on pumpkin cheesecake in a mini muffin pan, crustless, with egg substitute. I know this will likely change the bake time, so how long should I bake for? I have some…

Anyone try the P90X app?
I know there's big debate about how buying the workouts is WAY too expensive if you already own the DVDs, but I'm really only interested in the tracking and calendar stuff. I don't need to carry the workouts with me on my phone--I still intend to use my tv. Has anyone used it? Love it/hate it?

Shoe poll! To Vibram or not?
Hey MFP--I need some new running kicks (desperately). I've been fit by specialists in the past and have had the most success with Nike triax shoes (I lean towards over pronation), but I know the model I like is no longer made. I'm considering switching to a Vibram-ish kind of shoe instead, since every single workout I do…

NSV--someone noticed!
FINALLY, lol. The receptionist at my acupuncturist asked if I'd gotten skinnier  I've been in that office twice a week for several months (for a car accident injury). I'm currently a little over 15lbs down. HURRAY!

NSV that literally made me do a little dance.
I was in a play that opened early July, and the director wanted me in black skinny jeans. I have never been able to wear skinny jeans, mainly because I have monster athlete calves and I can't usually get the jeans up past them. After LOTS of searching for this costume piece, I finally found a pair I could sort of yank up,…

Good timing, NSV!
Well, the scale turned on me this morning (up 2lbs), but I had a nice solid NSV instead: I have this amazing belt that my mom jokes cost as much as my rent, and when she gave it to me, it pretty much only latched on the last hole around my waist... which is kind of high, for most clothes. Recently I've been wearing it…

HRM vs the pool?
Hey MFP! I want to start swimming (a new lap pool is at my nearest gym), but I have no idea what to expect--I'm pretty comfortable in the water, but have never tried swimming for exercise. I bought a nice new TYR suit (which was amazingly on sale, since summer swimming season is ending), and I have some goggles that are…

Met my December goal (NSV)!!
My goal was to run my next 5k confidently in just a sports bra, no shirt. The 5k in question isn't until next weekend, but this morning I went for a run with my group in my sports bra!! And felt pretty darn good about the admiring glances I was getting from other runners and drivers  This is admittedly a TOTALLY…

medifast, anyone?
my mom recently lost about 40 lbs on medifast. she's now 10 lbs lighter than me, horror of horrors! anyone have any medifast stories? like... did you try it and pass out from lack of calories or anything? i think my mom was eating around 1000 cals a day... which is very low, especially considering we are on the tall side…

Can't work out--my hair looks too good.
Anyone ever think this? This is where my head is right now... it is an unbelievably good hair day, and I KNOW that once I work out it'll never look the same. (I've got curls, they are unreliable) What are some other silly-but-real excuses not to work out? Let's have a good laugh

Help me get my life back!
Here's my story: I worked pretty darn hard to lose 20 lbs, reaching my goal in January. And I've maintained like a champ! But... I was in a hit and run car accident mid-June (I was the hit), and my life totally fell apart. The car was declared a total loss (I loved my car--it was a PT Cruiser woody, and I'd only had it for…
