I'm in a show right now set in the 1940's (see profile pic), and I wear a long, glamorous sleeveless evening gown in it. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't looking period enough, even though the hair, makeup, gown, and undergarments were all accurate. Then I realized: my arms are too toned! Which was not in fashion back then! I think I'm ok with that.
Oh, and can I mention that the gown is a size 6?? (I've spent most of my adult life comfortably in the 10/12 range). Hurray! (It's a modern manufacturer--I know a 1940's size 6 would probably be like a size 2 today or something).

haha, not such a bad "problem" to have. I'd be okay with it, too. The 1940s looks good on you, bytheway!0
