  • Weirdly, it's my fats macro that needs the most work. I focus on the protein and the fats get ignored much of the time until I notice that I'm under at the end of the day. I've been getting a bit better though. I think. I have to look back to be sure. Carbs are always met with a bit to spare. My diary is open if you want…
  • I jumped from 1350 to 1900 from one day to the next. Totally fine to do that. It makes for a quicker adjustment period just because your body only has to adjust to the one increase instead of adjusting with each small increase, IMO. Either way works though.
  • no, dear. seriously. read around the forum. this place is crazy supportive. but it can definitely be frustrating reading some of the misinformation out there. and it can be even more frustrating when you try to inform folks on the main forums about what we are doing here. we sound crazy to them just like they sound crazy…
  • wow.... what's with the douche that said this..... "Anyone who gives you any strong, immediate opinions on this - is probably just uninformed." .....and then proceeded to give her a whole listing of strong (and amazingly stupid) opinions. ok, back to real life. no time to read all that douchebaggery. i have a work…
  • oh, and i totally did have one of those days!! that was the day i took my after pic and compared it to my couple days into eating more pic and was like holy. *kitten*. i look like a different person. :)
  • not yet. wait at least 4 more weeks. at least.
  • i just checked out your pics. i know you haven't reached all your goals yet, but you look HAWT, woman. i want your legs, lol!!!! anyway, i love the blog. it's so honest. your self-awareness is one of your greatest tools for success in this, IMO.

  • dude, this is why i am scared to eat at TDEE. all because i know at some point i will need to cut back again, and I DON'T WANT TO!!! i just know my body is going to be tripping over itself happy to be eating more and cutting will be hard. seriously, i am barely managing my cut now because i'm always hungry. going up is…
  • yes, i did use the almond milk for a cream sauce. i've been using it in place of skim milk with a lot of success. this time, however, it smelled oddly sweet. so much so that i actually looked at my milk label to make sure i hadn't accidently picked up the sweetened almond milk. it tasted great though! i just had the…
  • i have an awesome solution for all your creamy pasta needs!!!! i have to run somewhere for work though. i will post it when i get back.
  • the hunger hit me hard just a few days in. in fact, i'm pretty much constantly hungry still even 6 weeks in, but it isn't the panic inducing hunger that i first experienced (i swear i had the hunger shakes just about all day one day). more like my body now expects constant fuel because i have set it up to expect just that,…
  • workout B left me a quivering mumbling mess last time i did it. i feel like i'm really working with A as well, but B kicks my a$s.
  • ^^^^^^this. you can pee out the sodium induced water weight later. macros are priority 1.
  • i say just stick to the lower sodium deli meats, pack nut snacks and such that are unsalted, take fruit and veggies. it's vacation. i would stay mindful of it but not stress about too much. sodium has gotta be the hardest one to keep under wraps when you're out of your regular home situation. have fun!!!!
  • i got about 4 NROLFW workouts in before i decided that i needed to just wait a bit until my schedule allowed me to be more consistent. they made me sore as hell!!! weirdly, the first morning after was not too bad, but the second morning after i could barely move. well, i could move, i just didn't want to. i'm planning to…
  • bwahahahahaha........ mike, good stuff there. i think we may have joined the same day. six weeks yesterday for me. good times. eta: i have a set of measuring spoons and cups at each of my offices (and at home, of course). and i frequently have a tablespoon in my purse, lol. i don't play.
  • maybe the going back and forth between the two systems is confusing you? BMF <---> MFP? i just think that if you have a BMF, you are getting the absolutely most accurate numbers for your daily burn. so you should use it. you have your cut value based on a BMF report of average burn, right? lucia says that you should eat…
  • think about that number 1200 for a minute. where did they get that from? how was it determined? seeing how every person in this world is different, why is everyone being assigned THIS number?!? it's a completely arbitrary made up number. they might as well have picked it out of a hat. i imagine some stuffy dudes in lab…
  • are you worried that your BMF is not recording your burns accurately? if not, seems to me that in the event of a crazy high burn day, you still eat your cut and just make sure that your BMF number is at least 1600 (your BMR) greater than your calorie intake for the day. BMF# - calories > 1600 if it is less than 1600, stuff…
  • that is amazing!! congratulations and keep up the awesome work.
  • Mine is open. Feel free to browse. Lots of meat in there though :)
  • ooh ooh ooh!!! my turn!!!.......... 1. went to a friend's house for some pool time this weekend. i felt good in my bathing suit - not one bit self conscious. i actually ran around the pool and gave no thought at all to my thighs. while running around the pool, i tried to run up on the diving board and jump off and instead…

  • i don't recall if my skin got worse when i started, probably because i had been having my problems with breakouts for a good while, but NOW, it is SO much better. that was definitely an unexpected plus of this whole thing.
  • Ignore me and do what Lucia says ;)
  • quick reply because i'm posting on the sly at work. EMTWL = best thing i've ever done for my health. it's a sustainable lifestyle. the support here is awesome. i freaking love to eat. results = bunch of inches lost (actually have this written down at my other office or i would list it out), started at 152.5 and i now…

  • nope, the only thing i was lifting was food to my face.
  • so you're almost there! increase to 2600 and give it some time. i totally wish i had your same problem. i could eat a dang house most days.
  • i definitely experienced 1-4. 5 may have occurred, and i just attributed it to a lack of sleep and exhausting issues at home. or it may be coming...good lord, i hope not. i absolutely do not get enough sleep. it's a major thing i need to work on, but i'm just not sure how. i actually do think i remember being overly tired…
  • ^^^^^this.... you need to be consistent in what you are eating day-to-day, so if you get the average of what you are burning daily over a week or a month, you can set that as your TDEE and base your deficit on that. every day is not the same, but your eating should be. if you want to drop that water weight, you have to…
  • i think my HRM does a pretty good job of calorie counting during lifting. greysmom has a BMF though, so she's already got a mechanism for getting an accurate TDEE.
