  • i've been gluten free for about a month, and i've had less bloating and irregularity as well. i used to have regular episodes of horrible stomach cramps that would get worse with stress and lack of sleep, and i haven't had any in the last month. it's not a totally conclusive thing for me yet. it really hasn't been a big…
  • I have an FT7 too. I am very happy with it. I haven't been using it much lately because I got a BMF and I misplaced the watch for a bit - doh! I will probably start using it again soon just to compare the numbers - BMF vs HRM.
  • i simplify it for some folks and just say it's a fancy pedometer.
  • you got an amazing deal on that!! you're gonna love it. my burns have turned out to average above the scooby calculations. i thounght my TDEE was 2200 (moderate), but per my BMF i actually burn near that on mostly sedentary days (mid 2100s). yesterday, all i did was housework and some shopping, and i burned 2450. my…
  • Yes, gotta love that afterburn!! i did not do a reset, but i am eating at maintenance right now. when i started EMTWL, the reset thing wasn't talked about so much. i went straight to 15% cut and saw a lot of success. i was not far from goal at the time. now, i am trying to maintain my weight but get stronger, fitter, etc.…
  • i was very skeptical of my burn numbers at first. per scooby, my TDEE is around 2200. per BMF, i've only burned below that number on very sedentary days. last saturday and sunday were some of my laziest days ever (the hubs and i indulged in a Heroes marathon on netflix AND i slept a lot later than normal), and i still…
  • a personal journal section maybe...a place for people to document their story on an ongoing basis. i'm no good at such things, but i imagine some would like it.
  • that is pretty dang cool. the dial tdee came out about 85 less than my average tdee for my first week with my bmf. the dial put my bmr a little low though, so taking that into account, the tdee values are about the same. this is cool. i was totally not believing my bmf numbers.
  • buehller...buehller.........????
  • oh man, me too. that sounds really good. might have to pick some up for the vacation starting tomorrow.
  • this doesn't help you at all, but there is a restaurant in my town that makes the most amazing key lime martinis that are around 100 cals. holy crap, they are good!! i recently discovered cake vodka. no joke, it tastes like vanilla cake. good with diet soda or club soda. drinking totally sabotages my food logging most of…
  • Good one! I was positively giddy when my neighbor said she could see the muscles in my legs.
  • dude, you just went total trekkie!!! except you needed to use the phrase "temporal anomoly"...lol. not debating...just info gathering. i have heard accounts of the burns staying fairly even from the first and of them going down some. i'm just hoping mine does the former. thanks for the MET info. i will have to check that…
  • yeah, i'm not acting on the info yet given that my numbers are not miles apart. still fascinated by it though. where do you get the METS #? also, someone posted elsewhere that the whole adjusting to your body thing was bogus. i'm wondering what that was based on.
  • Awesome!!!! I am totally with you on 1, 5 and 6 (the drive was always there, but it's just BETTER now)!!!
  • funny...seems like a whole bunch of us got BMFs at the same time. i've had mine a week as well, and i just printed up the report. it shows an average burn of 2574 and intake of 2345. my TDEE is set at 2200 per scooby, but i've been eating a little more than that. i've only worked out twice this week (NROLFW 1A and 1B - and…
  • i have runs on certain things just because i like them or it's something i cooked that no one else in my family will eat so i'm eating the leftovers for several days. and when i'm really busy, i rely heavily on the healthy convenient stuff like tuna (LOVE the starkist herb and garlic) with crackers and veggies dipped in…
  • i've noticed my love handle area is a bit more pronounced. i've convinced myself that the deadlifts and jackknifes and such are developing muscles under there and poking the remaining fat out. that's my story and i'm sticking to it. the deadlifts really got my shoulders this last time.
  • i was 100% there on thursday, june 14th...wooooohoooo!!! hahaha..... otherwise, perfection has been JUST beyond my grasp. lots of 43/29/28 or 41/30/29 with a few off days scattered about. i mainly watch my protein and let the other 2 fall where they may. if i meet protein, the other stuff is usually pretty close. i don't…
  • my mom always tells me to drink less caffeine when my boobs hurt.
  • total *kitten*. i'm sorry you have to be around people like that. stay away from them if possible. you're doing the right things.
  • yeah, think you're right, jyska. had to imagine myself standing in front of the mirror and taking a pic to be sure though, lol. i'm a little slow this morning. eta: and i've already had my coffee ;)
  • you're right. i didn't notice that in the pics above.
  • Karin, I saw results pretty quickly. I jumped from around 1300 cals straight to 1900. I started at 152ish and bloated up to 155.5, but 10 days into eating more that bloat was GONE. A couple days later I was breaking into the 140s. I made my goal of 145 after a month of eating more, and I've been hovering a bit above that…
  • just went back and re-read the beginning of this thread and, YES, a lot of you had similar surprisingly high numbers. that makes me feel better. also makes me wonder why i saw such good results starting EMTWL and upping to just 1900. i guess the jump was what did it, and i just happened to stall around my goal weight.…
  • Karin is right! On both counts. Def update your profile pic. You're looking way different :) And wear the BMF a bit higher and more toward the back of your arm. Anyone getting consistently higher numbers than they expected. Today will be a full week of wearing it for me, and my numbers are way higher than I expected. The…
  • Get lifting gloves BEFORE you rough your hands all up. I'm wishing that I had purchased them right off.
  • yep...made me do the wet pants walk too, but the second time i did it wasn't so bad. and i had even upped the weights. think the body is just a little bit shocked at what we are making it do that first time through. just wait, B will get your arms/back/shoulders. woohoo, i get to do B today!! i got some gloves too, so i…
  • hey, fyi....when i did my girly mudder, i wore a wide wrist band (a sweatband) over my watch and it came out just fine. a little wet but not muddy. i was wary of the dirt particles getting into crevices and such...on the watch. the chest strap was aces too.
  • what do you think of this one? http://www.vitacost.com/lifetime-lifes-basics-plant-protein i bought this but cannot handle the taste. i initially tried mixing it in with some yogurt, and it made me gag. it might be just fine mixed in a smoothie or something like that, but once something makes me gag, it is just no longer…
